Oris PropilotX Review | Titanium Pilots Watch 

In House movement and 10 years guarantee, and willing to do their own thing, at reasonable VFM its hard to argue against every collection having an Oris

Thank you for you review & congratulations on catching the eye of Oris to review one of their timepieces. For me the design of the bracelet & case is very attractive but the dial and handset are a massive disappointment when advertised as a “Pilot’s” Watch. As a watch for the masses it has plenty to offer but for the educated Watch Community I suspect the WC masses will look to to save up and pull the trigger in the direction of IWC!

A great overview Andy. I looked at this watch not long after the release, while I loved the case and bracelet execution I felt at the time that the dial was a tad too flat. Maybe I've been spoilt having the Aquis date 400 that has a dial with a look and quality than many other brands just cannot compare at the price. However I have warmed to the Propilot X as time has moved on, I still think it could have been better with applied lume filled markers but with the new Muppet version it elevates playfulness without going over the top. Personally I'll stick with my old Globemaster Pie Pan blue dial master chronometer. I'll not rule out another look sometime in the future.

Great review Andy and congratulations on Oris approaching you for a review, huge compliment. I do like the Oris but I think my money may be with the IWC, the bracelet adjustment and easy interchangeable straps. That said, there is no Kermit edition

Nice tech and spec. Love the sleek design without it being too glitzy. Goit my wife an automic Oris for her first luxury watch, its only a matter of time before I get one for myself though im not sure she has this in mind when she says 'we shoud have matching watches'. :)

And if one doesn't like the bracelet, there's so much choice ...I think the price is an overestimation - my coffee said so as it leapt onto my sofa when the cost was revealed. Oris: fix the lume , make the lugs 20mm, reduce it to 36 ( it'll look larger anyway) and the price ( what coating does the titanium have?). For now I'll stick with my 'Ray Mears' & Oceanus but good luck to anyone who purchases this timepiece.

I’ve had the opportunity to try this watch in person as well, movement idiosyncrasies aside, imho applied markers and better lume will perfect this watch. Also Andy, is there a law about pilot’s watches having bad lume🤔😂

Thanks for your review of this watch Andy. It's not the watch for me. The value proposition just doesn't stack up. Also, I am not enamoured with the dial and the date window. I like the movement though.

I don't own any Oris watches but really like what they're doing lately. Bracelets in this day and age need a micro-adjustment, however - especially on watches that are meant to stay on the original bracelet. I'm glad Oris retired the old red rotor. Looked cheap to me.

It is a pilot’s watch the same way a powerful motorcycle is a pilot’s ride. They simply don’t use it to fly, but it’s theirs nevertheless

I think the case and bracelet design look awesome, but I’d have rather seen lumed Arabic numerals on the dial.
