I just built my first 10 Flash Gitz (I say first because I MUST get more!), and I think they're my absolute favorite models I've ever built. Each one has so much character, you have infinite customization options with the 10 part guns with a ton of great bits left over for other stuff, and they hit like a trukk. Can't wait to take them on their first mission!
Some tricks : Overwatch : hit on 6, as sustained hit. Use the grot ammo to get a wound. Badrukk give full reroll, so more hits. The 24" range fit perfectly the stratagem, but it's hard to hit the closest unit. A 10 boïz unit can do 18 hits, with 9 autowounds, + badrukk Waaagh : in melee, with Badrukk, Flash Gitz got S6 and ennemy -1T. So you wound a marine on 2+, with 5 attacks per model, 7 for Badrukk.
I took a squad of these lads to the throne of skulls doubles tourney at warhammer world at the weekend and they were absolute all stars, 10 of them with badrukk for the rerolls were putting out some great dakka, the one turn with lethals from the runt means they can punch up into vehicles too. They went through squads of marines with no worries and punched wounds through into land raiders and other tanks too, they were definitely MVP's 👍🏼
REALLY hoping we get a good Shooty Detachment option for you Bad Moon Gitz in the Codex..... Have needed some decent Shooty/Dakka rules for a good while now. With that hopefully happening 🤞 I think Flash Gitz could become a real MVP unit for you guys (with Lootaz being in the mix, too). Keep up the great work with these videos, Bossman..... Bring on those Meganobz! 💚
Don't forget that ALL Orks get this nice little feature called Get Stuck In and gain [Sustained Hits 1] for all their Melee attacks. So exploding 6's for more free hits
I believe your right with the lethal and Sustained hits. You’d get one auto wound plus an extra one wound roll. Which unlike Nobs means they won’t cancel themselves out.
Something to remember is that if they're in a Trukk or Battlewagon they don't get any of their fancy rules. That means no Badrukk rerolls, no Ammo Runts, no extra attacks when targeting the closest enemy. If they're with Badrukk, I'd be tempted to get them stuck in after they've shot, to be honest. A unit of 10 + Badrukk is 47 S5 Choppa attacks. During WAAAGH! that goes to 58 S6 attacks! If Badrukk is stuck in, that's S6 going into mostly likely T3 thanks to his aura, so wounding on 2s. During WAAAGH! that's an average of 20 wounds to Space Marines and even on non-WAAAGH! turns you're churning out 13 wounds on average to Marines, which is enough to comfortably knock out a 5 man squad. That coupled with their dakka while they get there... These guys should make their points back pretty quick!
Enjoying these videos mate. I think they are fairly resilient for orks. A bunch of t5 2 wound models in terrain with a 3+ save? And it will always be worth using the -1 to wound strat on a big unit with the Kap leading them.
Hi Steve, nice to watch you again, Feeling on flashgitz are great, they can rip out enemies lines but need little bit more positioning comparated on lootas. The trukk can be the solution with a mek sit on back to heal and give them deckfire on 4+ firsts turn, maybe disimbark, sit on central objetive to reach all the map with range and use truk for cover. This is my first impression on those guys...
I have sworn by Flash Gitz since 5th edition and my reward for my dedication is they've gotten consistently better over the years. I really prefer them over Lootas for a few reasons, especially now that the deffgun hits on 6s, especially since all my friends play SM they come in very handy for dealing with their elite choices.
Now these are, what lootas should be. propper use of heavy, even including sustained. and they even get a choppa, which nobs dont get on their shooting setup. just great junit as far as great gets with orks.
Fairly sure you didn't realise this. You can't use firing deck weapons in overwatch. See the 10th edition Rules Commentary p10 OUT-OF-PHASE RULES "Some rules allow a model or unit to move, shoot, charge or fight outside of the normal turn sequence. For example, the Fire Overwatch Stratagem enables a unit to shoot in the opponent’s turn as if it were your Shooting phase. When using out-of-phase rules to perform an action as if it were one of your phases, you cannot use any other rules that are normally triggered in that phase" Firing deck is another rule and is therefore not triggered.
It's not that I didn't realise this. I didn't actually mention overwatch at all in this one. These are shortish videos giving a brief overview of the unit. I don't/can't cover every single thing. I still think being in a vehicle will offer benefits to this unit regardless.
I've decided to streamline my plastic and get rid of stuff to get a proppa fun army. I faced flash gits the other day with dark eldar. It wasn't pretty! Got decimated by shooting, then got overwatched then got krumped in close combat by them! If I get some for a 1k list for doubles, are they better as 5 gitz + badrack or just 10 gitz? (Points are the same I think)
sounds good to me like get the new minis have olde looters that ues a gits and orks with big shooters but got get new ones to flesh out the big units but see what going nest as do new
