As a translator, it makes me happy when interpreters get some recognition. When we do our job right, people ignore us XD But interpreters in particular like her, who do on-the-spot real-time verbal translations, have very stressful and difficult jobs. It's a testament to her skill that she makes it look so easy.

@@alexperaza9475 Agreed. That's another reason it's so great that she's been with the Parasite team throughout the season. The better she knows the team, the better she can interpret for them.

I'm an Aussie and have been a massive fan of Bong Joon-Ho for years, as well as many many international films from around the world. To me they've always been far more interesting and original than the vast majority of American films, not to say there isn't great American, English and Australian films, just the gluttony of style over substance types and remakes that flood the market and get the spotlight. Glad I was on this bandwagon from the get go.

Directors Bong jun-ho mentioned in the above Taiwan and many more... Details for Bong: Born on September 14, 1969, Bong says he decided in middle school that he wanted to be a filmmaker, perhaps influenced by his being raised in an artistic family (his father was a designer and his grandfather a noted author). He majored in sociology at Yonsei University in the late 1980s during the height of Korea's pro-democracy movement, and was part of the film club there. He is said to have been particularly fond of Edward Yang, Hou Hsiao-hsien and Imamura Shohei at the time. Please check the following short article written in 2008 excerpts from www.koreanfilm.org/bongjoonho.html

In truth this was a stupid question, shows how western-centric and how non Asian this reporter was! He didn’t research the life of the director or the country he lived in! Bong Joon-ho was born in 1969, and South Korean in the 70s and 80s was a country under dictatorship and martial law! It was a time of oppression and suppression! It wasn’t like life in the US or “White” society! I don’t think as a boy living in those times he was thinking of winning an Oscar! Now as a young man going to University studying film watching Scorsese these were the times he may have started dreaming of such things! South Korean in the late 80s and early 90s was moving to a more prodemocracy society, Westernized culture like Film, Tv, Music, Lifestyle was making more of an influence! So bottom line when a kid he didn’t dream of Oscars but as a young man he did!
