I just bought this after having tried the Flex Capacitor and finding that it did not fit for me. This however was absolutely great. I like the look of that sarek pocket as a replacement for the flimsy zipper pocket, will probably copy that from you. Have you tried to attach any of the shoulder pockets you sell? And if so, which would you suggest for this pack? Keep up the good content 👍🏻
I just got this backpack and the 1st thing I noticed is how light and thin the fabric is, and that worries me a bit. I fear it would just rip or be caught bit something and rip. I'm even considering returning it for that reason.
How are you finding the water bottle side pocket? I have this pack and I find it holds a nalegene well, but there is wasted space. I am using the 1L smartwater bottle and there is even more wasted space.
Exellent carrying system, but thats all. After one year I`m very disapponted with the rest. First of all the backpack soaks water, special the top lid and side pocket with zipper. And when you remove the pockets you miss where to put your water bottle, and every item you like to have easy access to. The backpack has no mesh net outside. Why can't the big backpack companies make more water resistent backpacks? I hate the rain cover. It adds weight and blocks access to the stuff you need. At the other side the "new" lightweight backpacks lacks a good carrying system. May be cut off the pack, keep the carrying system, and build a new pack? We will see :-)
I'm currently looking at the Osprey Aether 70 plus and 70 pro bags, but also the Seek Outside Unaweep 4800. I plan to use the bag for fishing as well. I need a backpack that can haul a 30kg fish on top of my 15kg of gear. In Australia, to access certain fishing ledges targeting tuna, we need to walk over some hills and through the bush. I need something durable, reliable and can withstand 45kgs or 100lbs of weight. You mentioned you had a Seek Outside bag. which one is it and how do you compare it to the Osprey bag? I've heard another reviewer say the Seek Outside bag is a better built bag with stronger harness frame and better materials. Is this true?
With your specific demands I would go with the Seek outside unaweep 4800 or higher. I would say robustness and carrying is about same, but unaweep is a bigger bag and a big more flexible size wise. I would even look at a unaweep 6300 that will give you closer to 100liters. Which is probably more in line with your needs as that will give you a pack that has enough volume to swallow all your gear and a little more.
