That's one clean looking 4600! I almost bought a 4610 several months ago. Thinking back now, I probably should have. It was cool watching you have fun, every once in a while I'll do the same.. we're all still kids inside!
1st tractor I ever drove was a Ford 2000 my grandpa had on his farm. I've got an ih 464 diesel with 3700 hrs on it that is getting a makeover it was my wife's grandpa's. Cant beat those older fords and I also love the old ih I've got now it was built in the mid 70's. Thanks for the video
Glad the New Holland is working for you, In the last 16yrs, only kubota issue, All 6, has been batteries and tires. Old Ford Reliability, Even have a 80's model B7100 4x4, runs like new. New Holland higher price, kept me away also. Great Video, nice donuts with dads tractor, you remind me if my oldest son, he is 38
This video popped up in my feed and I know I've probably watched it before but just had to again. That's one sweet tractor. The SU's are a nice tractor.🤤lol
DLH Farms, you should get a little equipment to help run that farm! Just kidding! Nice Ford tractor! I have a Ford 4000 1969 still going strong! Thanks for sharing!
They are great tractors and very sought after over here as there are not many physically smaller 60hp tractors of that age with good hydraulics with draft control and live drive PTO. Yours looks to be in tip top condition after the make over and repaint. Yours has power assisted steering and the de-lux seat as well! What I did notice is that the dishes on the rear wheels are slightly different. The only occasional issue with them is that they can be a bit light on the front end but inside front wheel weights were often fitted to combat this.
+Dan Whiteford. Yeah anyone that has one around here holds on to them hardly ever see one for sale. The hydraulics on this one is a little slow but everything else works great on it and it does have inside wheel weights on the front!
I would presume you have the hydraulics flow control knob screwed either all the way in or out - I cannot remember which way is fast and which way is slow! The other thing does yours have the auxiliary hydraulic pump driven off the starter ring (I think) on the LH side -just about behind your tool box?
+Dan Whiteford. The lift is plenty fast, it's the auxiliary remotes on the back that are slow. I don't think this one has that pump on it. We have an industrial ford that has that pump though. Thanks for the helpful advice!
I understand sentimental value. I'm currently trying to buy my grandfathers John Deere 4430 from the guy that bought it at the estate auction. Yes we are a green family here. I hope we can still get along lol
+Big Dreams on Small Acres. Sure we can get along! I don't care what color it is as long as it's a tractor! Im a tractor man! I hope you can get that tractor back! There is a 7710 ford that I would love to have because of sentimental value.
Man U got a lot of equipment and u got a kicker for the small square bales or think the accumulator is better I seen a few of your videos with the accumulator I didn’t know them older ford tractors are nice we one on the farm I used to work on and we also had a 6410 as the round baling tractor and to load with and a newer new holland to load with too and we had just a new holland 630 4x4 round bales twine tie and enjoy your videos and have a nice day bud
I like the little Ford's first tractor I drove was a 2000. Baled a lot of hay with a 3600. one of these years I have to redo it. The 3600 we got will do 22 MPH lol. It move right along. lol
DLH Farms Lol! We used to have a 1600. Was really small could run for ever on such a small tank of fuel had to have counterweights on the front to do anything with. We used for spraying, bush hog small areas, plow a small orchard. We nicknamed it the doodlebug.
+Jan Kotze Thanks Jan! It's a nice old tractor to have around. The SU stands for special utility. It's a smaller frame than a standard 4600 but has the same power and rear end. It has the set back front axle and short wheel base for working in tight areas.
A farm hand that I knew got smashed by the tractor, starting it like that, he thought it was in neutral and he went to start it and it ran him over and squished him. Please be careful when you are starting it like that, it's better to be on it 👍😀
+Dylan Swagnasty66. Thanks for your concern, you are correct that it's best to be on the tractor, but I triple checked to make sure it was in neutral and I know this tractor won't start while in gear. As a matter of fact you have to wiggle the stick around in the neutral position while turning the key to get it to turn over.
+Dylan Swagnasty66. I know that's not really an excuse for doing it, but it happens occasionally, but I always check check check before turning the key.
I have started mine like that hundreds of times and always ready to jump on or out of the way. Complacency can kill the cat! Even with the safety switch, accidents can happen. A very good friend was working on his 3000 and started it from the side. The safety bypass switch shorted out, the tractor started in gear, and he was severely crushed. He lived and recovered - a tough 80 year old! He said that was nothing compared to flying missions in a bomber in WWII.
My design for mounting the tool box did not require it to be chopped out. Figures. When jump starting a battery, put the ground onto a ground spot not so you get a spark to go BOOM!! The 4600 SU when I was looking at them cost $10,460. Oh your throttle nut is too tight as the Gromit hole is a slot so is worn
+Allan Cundiff. I own two tractors, the T5.120, and the TN95. My dad owns the rest of them, he bought the T6030 back when I first started doing hay to help me out, and to push snow for the highway department in the winter, he inherited the 4600, it came from his dad's farm, he got the 6640 back in 2003 to run our Haybuster straw blower, he has two TC55's that we use on a daily basis for our construction company, there is a ford 1910 around here somewhere, also a TC40DA my mom uses to load mulch, If you seen my videos with the TW-20, or 7710 those also came from my Grandpa's farm my dad's brother inherited them, there is also a 4610 that my dad's youngest brother inherited.
that's a nice size tractor for yard work put a blower on the front for winter and a blade on the back for summer I could play in my yard all year long ehhh
Massey Ferguson. Here try this link it's not a review of the machine per say but it's a good video of it. Tell me what you think. I have this video unlisted for various reasons. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--kWbKA8w5g0.html
That looks physicaly alot smaller than the 4600 models in Europe. Much lower to the ground, lighter front axle, no tomb stone casting over the front axle, smaller wheels.. . Its like a 4600 engine in the skid off a 2600!! What does SU mean. Is it some compact version..
+John MacPherson. What type of equipment do you plan to run with the tractor? How steep is the land you plan to farm? This is very important to know before choosing a tractor. This tractor I is good for very light implements like a new Holland 256 hay rake on moderately steep land and can handle a bit larger stuff like a square baler on very flat ground. If you have any hills at all you need to have a four wheel drive Tractor as your main Tractor for safety reasons. You also need to know how much PTO horse power you need to run the implements you plan to buy. This Tractor has about 50 PTO horse power.
very nice a real Ford tractor, I really love Ford New Holland tractors before they sold out to cnh international...now they just foriegn made garbage unfortunately..same company makes case and a few others...the new ones are just not very good machines in my opinion...it's why I went with Kubota for my new hay tractor, keep my old 3000 though for raking and blading driveway
+Daniel Thomason. Fiat bought Ford tractor company in 1990, which is the same company that owns Dodge and Ram trucks. They still own it to this day at some point don't know the year they purchased Case, that's when the started CNH it just means Case New Holland, The T6 and T7 tractors are made in the same factory in England that the 7700 ford tractors were made in back in the 80s, the T8 and T9 tractors are made in Wisconsin right here in the USA. The T5 I have was made in Italy, It hasn't had any problems. They do have some models that I wouldn't own that are built to compete with the E series John Deere, like the TS models and some of the workmasters, stay away from those. But i make all my hay hay with New Holland tractors and am very happy with them. I used my father in law 7060 Kubota to move some hay the other day, I wouldn't trade any of my New Hollands for it.
My dad rebuilt the Massey Ferguson one time but I can't run it any more being my hip isn't able to constantly push the clutch to go forward an backwards.
Hey Dennis, I purchased a used 555 b backhoe long story, I had engine problems with it so I just got my money back. As the guy was loading it up I noticed a decal on it. It was sold new in your hometown, I was surprised. I am here 20 miles S E of Canton Ohio thats a long way from you all. Ron
+Ron and Lori Wood. I'm not surprised at all Meadows of Dan farm service was probably the biggest backhoe dealer on the east coast they sold thousands of them. They would sell Pike electric 100 of them at a time.
DLH Farms very good tractors had about 5 or 6 of them and a few 4000's It has a lambourn cab I prefer the q cab Or Duncan cab I sold a tractor and took it as a trade in
