the reason you crash when your out of bounds is because the shadow man you saw the last frame you crashed randomly spawns and crashes your game when you're out of bounds, hes also known as steve, shadow man steve
*Troll check* @1ferax he's known as the freezer and originates from saints row 2, on certain physical copy versions of the game while glitching out of bounds in a specific way would have an apparition appear as a shadow casted onto walls and floors known only by the name: the freezer, upon seeing the freezer the game would freeze anywhere between 0 and 4 seconds, this would permanently damage the DVD which is in the drive, this is not a cartridge, you can't modify data on a disk, the dvd readers shouldn't be able to. but it somehow permanently alters the disks and they are changed from console to console. The way in which it modified the disk would prevent the game from saving and loading and sometimes even starting a new game. but normally, the game can still boot the title screen menu.
@@pavesomsk908it's actually heavily based on the "Freezer" from a Saints Row game, it may or may not be true, because it's theorized it's not fabricated but actually a glitch caused by memory leaks when out of bounds, thus the people who say it broke their console or game That's why it's called the Fridge, cause of the Freezer, ha
11:05 this is a reference to a creepy pasta about random stairs in the woods that if you climb them you disappear you and the stairs just vanish and you are never seen again and apparently the reason you crash is because mr.nose added the saints row 2 freezer to the game
Not just a creepy pasta or SCP. There is an actual sculpture that is just that. A concrete stairway to nowhere in the middle of a thick woods. Random. Creepy? To the beholder…
yup, this. this is an urban legend type thing stemming from people who live in the woods being convinced weird sh*t happens in the woods (they do, can confirm). it's sort of a perfect reference to throw in considering being alone in the woods where weird sh*t happens is tldr the entire premise of this game lol
Pretty sure that most stuff out of bounds is just there as easter egg, or rather a "ooooh, spoooky surprise" but the problem is that the uhm... unalived boyos within the base, the area with all the writings on the wall, is more of an hint at something happening in the background while we deal with not-so-small yet very playful space catsolotls. Keep in mind that there are definetely eldritch deities at play here, the bad sun, the skull signal, wathever invaded the one world from the signal:"its everywhere, everyone is dead, help us!" So no doubt that there are cults serving them
I’ve read about the “it’s everywhere, everyone is dead, help us” signal but I’m not sure on the details apparently on that planet giant black pillars started growing out of the ground and destroying the planet it’s actually possible to find a small black pillar that can be dug up from the ground I don’t remember where it is exactly but once it is dug up black pillars will rise from the ground around the base eventually making it impossible to continue the game
i think the "its everywhere, everyone is dead, help us!" signal people found the skull signal, becouse you can find them just before everyone dies and its about them finding something
@@jorgen7702 no, the guy who replied first is the most correct one, that death is instantaneous and is implied that wathever caused that ending is something that moves, whereas whatever was exterminating them was slow and something that expanded
I think the reason why Zulu exists, is because it's probably what every other Satellite is pointing at, When the Satellites move in sync, they aren't doing it individually, but rather they point at Zulu, and Zulu is parented at the center of the world, and when it is time to move all of the Satellites, Zulu's parent axis, rotates at a random X random Y random Z at a fixed speed(depending on upgrade) While Zulu's parent axis rotates, Zulu moves around the semi sphere, then every other satellite points at it constantly.
from what I heard Zulu is located to the south. so when you target Zulu you flip the compass. turning South North and wise verse. this was I think a temp fix or something for the compass been borked.
it actually has the blueprint for something behind one of the crates, both of the door codes are on the wiki, or you can use the hook to get the card for the first door through the hole on top, and use a code changer for the second door
@@WeeHen if that's the case, then the wiki needs to be updated. while I have you here, do you know of any uses for paper scrap or coal chunks asidd from just selling them for a quick cred?
I love going out of bounds in any game, I like seeing how developers go about making certain things, and the cool devs always leave little easter eggs around to find
Honestly, I expected from the bunker opening at 3:33 and being that place from the Lost series: a little room with a few MREs, couple of papers, strange symbol on the wall and old PC with interactive QWERTY keyboard and expectation to enter "4 8 15 16 23 42" while a timer is ticking. If you don't - the "End is Near"'s outcome triggers.
1:30 Just as an FYI: you can get into this vent by hooking yourself to one of these top vents, pulling the rope as close as possible and spamming spacebar. From there you'll be able to fairly easily take off the big vent in the stairway.
The shadow figures that crash your game when you go out of bounds reminds me of The Freezer in Saints Row 2. The same thing happens in SR2, it might just be an urban legend tho. Mrsaintsgodzilla made an interesting vid on it.
There is also a body located in the left console at your main desk, as well as inside the tree in the parking lot. You can actually see a glimpse at both without noclip if you position yourself right.
You can also fully see the one inside the console without the need of noclip if you use a save that had the old base without resetting anything, that will however permanently break that save as far as I know
There is actually more of those dark figures in the game but some of them are extremly rare to find if you wanna find some of them try to use digital camera randomly you could capture stuff you cant see or watch the forest at night with cameras with nightvision enabled you might miss it tho because it happens fast
@@1ferax That is just slightly disturbing. What does this imply? Do they just drop dead from aliens and other horrors or are they killed off if they know too much? In any case this seems like someone is covering it up
Your game crashing is from a guy called Steve. Nobody knows truly how steve works, but when you go out of bounds if you see him it spawns a shadow of him for a few frames, then crashes your game. Or atleast thats how people think steve works. Steve's a cool guy.
4:01 Could be that the bodies are meant to move up into the basement, to cover the floor during an as of yet undiscovered / unimplemented event? They seem to be placed within the basement's footprint, just a little below it.
Oh and by the way thanks for proving my theory about the bunker right, I was very unsure since I had no proof. So now I am really confident that the dev is working towards a portal system.
"Hey whats going on everybody! Welcome to an ongoing series where we basically take the camera anywhere we want and we try to find secrets and new discoveries to some of our favorite games." Seriously though, thanks for doing this, always sad the game let you go partially out of bounds but had an invisible wall nevertheless.
Me reading the title, hoping for an encounter with The Freezer..... Oops, wrong game, I mean The Fridge. 19:48 22:59 He found you twice. "Who is Vinny?" He's the man on your pizza box, the man who brought Gray Leno into this world. Try going out of bounds in a future update. You never know what Mr.Dr.Nose will change.
if you can remove fog i reccamend going down the hole again as theres clearly a large room down there past the fog i beleive also that area changes with a story event
There's 2 ways to get into the vents. One you stack boxes to get to the event, so you can grab it careful. Get bombs in it second, you take a hook and pull event down careful. There's bombs in it and then use the hook to get up into the event for both ways. There's a low area in there for you plus if you get into the vent of your room, then you could basically get. But fast travel way
You actually CAN get into the vents above the stair-way without needing debug/noclip! The vent-panel facing the stairs is a physics object, you can push it w/ something heavy like the item box and crawl right in, though there's obviously nothing in there... yet. Also, the weird wendigo-room w/ the corpses was unexpected, and finally explains why my game would have harsh FPS drops if I looked in that specific direction, I could never figure out what was causing it! Those corpse models are unsettling as hell... their heads look like they exploded from the inside out, wonder if they're used for anything other than a freaky easter-egg rn. I was worried about having the inside of the bunker spoiled, but I'm kinda glad to know it's not actually a 'thing' right now. I wonder if it might end up being the nuclear reactor or something like that.
11:14 is probably a reference to the urban legend of stairs in the woods that lead nowhere, but according to the legend, bad things happen if you walk up the stairs
If I recall correctly, somebody once commented on a VOTV video saying something about "the previous 20 occupants of the base going missing". The bodies could be a reference to that.
maybe not a easter egg but the end is near signal works by it spawning I think two items near that weedigo at the pit. and the trigger that trigger the game over happens when one of the item thats moves towards the other item touches it.
The basement was from earlier base design. It was a ladder from bedroom down and led to a tunnel At 3:33,etc If you didn’t play early enough then you didn’t know. The writer slowly loses his sanity before he dies. So many previous employees disappeared… somewhere 😉
I saw in a comment on another video that the stairs in the woods originally had a portrait of Mario at the top in an earlier version of the game, but the texture was removed/replaced at some point. I have no idea if this is true or not.
ok, the fact we couldnt see it was an entity on the first time the shadow figure crashed your game just made the second time way more creepy than if you have noticed at first, theres just something so off on noticing you where so close to an entity without knowing
Funny. I always thought the shadow man out of bound was a reference to the gmod ARGs. But apparently it's a reference to the saints row 2 freezer i didn't knew about.
I think so too but I do have a video that covered that event. WE FINALLY GO DOWN THE HOLE | Voices Of The Void Part 16 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ukUEJ3pYYSI.html
VoTV so far is the only game I know other than GMod where the creators pack the game full of cool easter eggs, which is think is something lacking in most games
The stairs make me think of that 1 SCP i read about a few years back with the exact same look... perhaps they are making a reference there??.. im talking about "the stairs in the woods" or SCP-3405
Also the bunker with the stairs and chainsaw room There seems to be scp foundation logos on the doors and the stairs heavily remind me of that one scp which is an infinite staircase that gets more scary as you go down (seeing a face, hearing things, stuff like that)
Freezer is one of my favorite secret entities! I'd recommend trying to find a way to disable him next time tho cause he can make.out of bounds exploration impossible
when i went under the base at day 43 there werent bodies under the base wtf I copied my save file and modified the name from story mode to sandbox In normal sandbox you cannot noclib, but you can explore the area under the normal terrain passing from a gap in the well (you can even see the weedigo), since you are moving the player and not the camera you can interact with stuff, there is a box with no texture that makes you crash/teleports you at the base
