Join us for our latest instalment of Outlander On Location in the historic Highland town of Inverness!
In this video, we take a wee tour around the Old High Church of Inverness, which witnessed the some pretty grim events following the Jacobite defeat at Culloden...
Outlander Fans will see echoes of Outlander Season 3, where the fate of many Highland Clansmen were detailed in Jamie's Culloden flashbacks and have distinct parallels with the real histories of the Jacobite Risings of the 18th century in Scotland...well done Diana Gabaldon in her meticulous research!

Outlandish Journeys Have you been to Wentworth prison? Or to the estate where Jamie worked as a horse man?? Those would be cool to see.

@@artist6135 Wentworth prison doesn't exist, it was a fictional place, as was Hellswater estate, although there's a place in the lake district (which is supposedly where Jamie Fraser went to work on the estate) called Ullswater so maybe that was a bit of a twist for the name...but the prison scenes were filmed at various places, linlithgow palace was one of them....hope this helps😊

A beautiful video and tragic bit of history....heart wrenching! There's something about graveyards that make them something of a "sacred" p[ace so to have this happen here is tremendously sad!! Great video!

2:26 -- killed and left to die on sacred ground. How dreadful. 4:26 -- Then from afar "watching their enemies being killed". Sic.....absolutely sic. Makes my stomach churn even these 3 centuries later.

I’ll bet....I just can not imagine the emotion the Jacobites were going through.... That kinda emotional stuff just kinda stays in the air. Thank you for the great video and the education on the brutality of that time in our history.
