Uni Potter sorry, this is months ago, but I would also like to point out, they're celebrating their fall harvest, alongside Halloween. Now, Pottsfield isn't exactly celebrating Halloween, but they are celebrating something similar. We gotta look up fall harvests, fall celebrations, etc., because that means a lot to this particular episode.
The Tavern DOES have a name, it's called The Dark Lantern, most likely in reference to the Beast's lantern. (Which the Tavern Keeper seems to know a WHOLE lot about.)
Pottsfield is a biblical reference. When Judas returned his blood money for betraying Christ, the men of the temple bought a field used to harvest potter's clay to bury strangers. The term potter's field means a mass grave. Here s another Bible connection, it was located in the valley Gehenna, which is used as another name for hell.
0:45 There's a lantern on the left side of that scene, and it looks similar to The Beast's lantern though I'm not sure since The Beast's lantern is copper or reddish-brown and the lantern in THAT scene is black Also, some said that the black cat is actually Enoch
In episode 9 Greg hides behind a gravestone, the stone is marked with the name “Quincy Endicott”, we meet Mr Endicott himself in episode 5 that pretty much proves the afterlife/purgatory theory
I've always thought the unknown was like limbo for Wirt and Greg. They are in the water possibly drowning and there is a chance they could die. I think they had enough will power and strength to get back to the real world and not die. This would explain why they wake up in the same place.
First! and also I found it slightly weird that in a film called miss peregrines home for peculiar children I don't know if you have watched it or read it(it was originally a book) but back to the point. There is a character in it called Enoch and he has the ability to animate dead bodies and non moving objects which is a slight coincidence with the skeletons in the second episode(it's only a small thing that doesn't say anything really about the overall plot)
I ALWAYS WATCH TO THE END AND I ADORE ALL YOUR THEORIES. I watch your videos to relax when I have a panic attack, you've stopped me killing myself multiple times just by taking my attention away from whats hurting me and onto what ever you're showing me which always grabs my attention and makes me happy. thank you so much
Oh, sweet baby, no no no! Take it from someone's who's been there before too, and who gets panic attacks all the time now, what your life is right now is not what it will be forever. It FEELS like it will be that way forever, but, I can't even recognize my life from when I was 18 to what it is now at 32. You will grow and change and find your own groove to where things aren't like they are today - it will get better, I promise, you just have to stick around to see I'm right!
@@magicallyella7740 Hi! Everything is going well! I managed to get a job that I love and I met someone and now we’re engaged! I’m probably the happiest I’ve ever been and I’m really really appreciative of you checking up on me, it’s people like you that really helped me overcome my depression! Thank you so much 💖
You can see in the early concepts of Enoch, he was supposed to be just a black cat. I also think that the cat having black fur could reference the skin theory
Oh hie thee forth o'er golden mead Yon is the maypole set! A ribbon to wind thy soul And to bind love to thy breast From flesh removed our chalk footfall Tempers this holy ground! Where timeless spirits meet 'Round the heart of Pottsfield town
I know this is an old video, but as a Mormon who is black ain't never took the part of the changing of skin color to be literal. Or as away to show racism. I find that many things in the bible and Book of Mormon can't be translated literally or took literally. I believe it to be a metaphor of sorts. Something to show the change of people turning from God is a physical manner, but not actually changing. Because skin color is a result of sun exposure and can't be just randomly willed on people because they were bad or something.
Yes! And technically we believe there's the curse which is being cut of from God and then there's the "mark" but who knows what the heck that means there's a lot of religions who teach that that's dark skin but it could literally be different hair or a birthmark or whatever but that's not even the important part! They weren't cursed with the mark, the mark just let people know that they were that one group of people that got cut of from God (which was the actual curse)
I'm Mormon and we don't have our own bible. like many Christians we use the king James version and also study the book of Mormon, we simply see it as another book of scriptures
I have a theory that The Unknown is The Undiscovered Country from Ray Bradbury. I also believe that Enoch, the cat, is Salem the Cat from Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
I always figured that the boys had died a premature death and whatever god/gods that be saw they where having issues and decided to send them through a test to resolve them since they where so young. In a way nearly every person they come across is teaching them something they really should know.
I wouldn’t make it that simple. The show is still it’s own thing. It references Dante’s Inferno, but I wouldn’t say it’s based off of it. It has a lot of inspirations, like Brothers Grimm fairy tales and ways the death is symbolized, and Dante’s Inferno happens to be one of them.
The people changed into different colours and races at babel as a way to make people spread out and populate the earth cause everone in the world was lollygaging in one city
Cara Sheasby I heard this when I was little so it might not be complete, but I was told they were trying to build a tower to Heaven and God destroyed it for obvious reasons, and made them speak different languages so they couldn't communicate
The Mormons are wrong about Cain. Cain wasn't "cursed" in the way modern people think of it. "Cursed" in ancient Hebrew means "consequence." Cain had a mark placed on him for his own sake. The mark was to protect him from anyone that may want to kill him (since he was to be hated).
I think Enoch is sort of a mixture of both because like Enoch number 1 he was accepted into the realm of the dead Pottsfield of heaven. Then there is the other Enoch which you’ve already covered
As being born Mormon myself, the story of Cain being turned "black" is a story my grandmother had told me as well. Unfortunately, I have always felt that Mormon church is a bit racist. As for reasons why I haven't been a part of that church for years. Mass bigotry is that church and anyone who says otherwise is brainwashed lol. But yes that story is actually true (in terms of the Mormon church).
