I like to imagine that with this shift the meaning of "overanalyzing avatar" has changed, he is no longer someone who overanalyzes avatar. He is now the avatar of overanalyzing.
Fun fact the Patterson Gimlin footage is the single most heavily analyzed piece of footage ever made, except for the Zapruder film of the Kennedy assassination
@@ConfederateLivesMatter2 He didn't state that the PGF was real or fake. He just said, very accurately, that it is the most watched 'home movie' after the Zapruder film, so you can stop getting your trigger happy knickers in a twist. And for your information, the PGF is genuine. Viva Abe Lincoln!
@@carbonc6065 As much as I would like to say it's fake. After watching it over and over and going over proportions and stuff like that. I actually think it's real. I believe it was probably an ape that came across the land bridge between russia and alaska a long time ago. But I don't believe this creature is across the U.S. Just in the Pacific northwest. Just a theory. Until we get a body we won't know
@@davidcopson5800The PGF is laughably bad. Only pseudo scientists and Cryptozoologists argue for it's authenticity. Actual biologists and scientists snicker at the film.
I’m not going to lie, after the Avatar over analyzing videos ended I wasn’t sure if I’d continue to be interested in watching. After watching you over analyze big foot I am now fully on board and will watch you over analyze anything! Keep up the great work!
True. I honestly suspected he would do Korra, the comics, and the movie. Would still love to see the last one. But at worst, I thought this channel would end and I would come back every few years and watch the series again. Good to see he can continue this channel.
Dude you are a master at this! This was one of the most entertaining things I've seen on RU-vid, and the way you presented the evidence (or lack thereof) with rapid fire narration and the comedic twist is genius....just straight up genius.😂
If this is the direction this channel is going after Avatar, I'm excited for the future. This was fascinating, and your tone and style keeps it entertaining throughout.
Analyst, please never stop making content. Your style of comedy, your unique brand of editing and your very punctual way of keeping a viewer’s attention through your delivery is something I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of. I’d love for you to do videos on all sorts of conspiracies, possibly even other cryptids like moth man or the Jersey Devil.
Everything you said is spot on. Avatar was big but its just the beginning of this channel! The sky is the limit with this guy. Actually fuck that, if Princess Yue is the moon our boy can go even higher!
Personally I originally thought the Patterson film was faked: then I waited decades for the evidence to come out to prove it was faked, then people who came out and said it was fake were obviously fake themselves, then I read a book by a scientist who studies monkey feet, and just like you, I said, wait monkey feet and yes his dissertation was on chimpanzee foot mechanics. When he talked about the film, he said you can't make a costume make the feet bend like that...then he said midtarsal break 8,346 times and now I know less about the authenticity of the film that I did as a little kid when it showed on the news. Side note, during one study when the chimps realized the people were studying their tracks, the monkeys started erasing them.
The point i always think of when it comes to bigfoot is that every myth has a nugget of truth somewhere that has exploded over the years. I look at the Kraken from mythology. A giant squid that could sink a ship, typical mythical monster right? Can't exist. But then we found it.A fishing boat just found one floating in the water and managed to freeze it. The Colossal squid, a massive 10 meter (30 feet) squid with a spiked club. Is it as big as the myth? Of course not but it checks all the boxes of being a massive tentacle monster that might have attacked one wooden ship hundreds of years ago and became bigger and scarier each time the story was told. The reason it took so long to find is because the ocean is massive and squids decompose very quickly. I think to this day we've only found maybe 2 or 3 and all of them female so we don't actually know how big a male would be. Anyway my point is I think there is a nugget of truth that sparked the story in the first place. It wont be as big or magical as some of the stories say but i feel like there will be something. They can't all be some drunk guy in a fur suit (If you haven't seen "Pottersville" it's a pretty funny but weird christmas bigfoot movie on netflix)
Giant squids have been known of since at least 1850, thanks to corpses, it's just very unlikely that it or the colossal would ever attack a ship, considering they live too far down, and much more likely sailors just made that part up. Also, you saw the same video I did, there are tons of explanations of bigfoot sightings. But many seem like they won't be satisfied unless there’s some kind of ape man, a kind of Bigfoot of the Gaps argument. The vast majority of sasquatch claims must be false, there’s simply no way they could be all over the world & completely unknown to science. And if that's the case, they could ALL be easily made up.
I get what your saying so here’s my rational take on it at some point in history there was a tall person(6’5-7 ft range) that had werewolf syndrome which if anyone doesn’t know is an extremely rare genetic condition that causes excessive hair growth all over the body including all parts of the face and head, neck, torso, etc (but no fangs, pointed ears or claws lol) seriously look at pictures of these people they look like Bigfoot anyways I think maybe a tall person with this condition became a hermit for whatever reason probably cast out from society because people did that a lot to people different from them throughout human history and lived in the woods as a lonely hermit knowing to stay away from everyone else because he/she would be seen as a monster and not all people would be aware of this and after catching glimpses of this person and the details kept getting more exaggerated as time went on plus being 7ft is super rare also which would explain why no one has seen a specific individual like this since that’s honestly the only rational explanation I have for Sasquatch
This was the bigfoot documentary I didn't know I needed. The sheer amount of hilarious clips pieced together into an artful tapestry is a testament to the amount of love and hard work this dude puts in. I for one am definitely sticking around for future content no matter the topic.
I hope part two is on the way. This and the ghost video are the only two I have watched on this channel. I came back to watch this one again because it’s so good.
Honestly, the claim "Bigfoot, and possibly other cryptids, are simply aliens, which is why there's sightings but no evidence left behind" could fit pretty well in a sci-fi story. I could see an episode of Star Trek where they encounter a race of Sasquatch, who say "Oh, your planet is on a disputed trade route, so occasionally a damaged ship has to crash land there. We try to stay away from your populations while waiting for a ship to come pick us up"
This reminds me of an episode of Jonny Quest that I watched on Toonami and it had this race of Bigfoot that came from space and they crashed into Mt. Saint Helens(I think) and they were stranded on Earth. They would go in to towns and steal technology to help fix their ship and Jonny and the gang saw them, followed, learned all this and helped them fix their ship so they could go home. I think it was a 2 parter.
The Summer of '23 my Wife,Daughter ,2 Dogs and myself saw "something" standing on the shoulder of the road traveling on 199S. from Oregon to Crescent City,CA. This was near Hiouchi. It was tall-at least 7",dark haired . When we got closer to it my Dogs were flipping out and whatever this was turned and ducked quickly in to the woods . I just find it hard to believe that a person was randomly waiting to hoax us at 5:30 a.m. on a Tuesday morning.. Draw your own conclusions . I just know what we saw was really scary, trippy and fascinating all at once !!!!
@@johncaulfield8935 I dont know it wasn't a bear. I guess bears stand up along the side of highways and no ,I DOD not record it as it all happened with in probably a minute or 2
I'd love to see more Overanalyzing Cryptid videos. One that always fascinated me is the Lake Champlain Monster--there's got to be something living in the lake, since they recorded echolocation down there.
God, this content is glorious. Like, not even memeing. You've got the charisma, and the presentation. You could make little documentaries or whatever else about *anything* other than Avatar and I'd still be glued to the screen like I was with this video. Don't stress about content. Do what you want. I'm here for *you,* and whatever you make is just an added bonus.
To be honest I’d like to see a part 2 of Bigfoot. I think it’s a super interesting subject whatever you believe. Iv heard that people have views on Bigfoot as more supernatural than biological maybe you can talk about that. I didn’t know what to expect going into watching but I think your comedic yet informative approach worked very well. I’m interested in your over analysis of other subjects outside the world of avatar because it just works great man, God Bless
This was phenomonal. Really tough to get creative when your channel was solely based on Avatar, but this is the stuff. Funny, informational, witty, great writing. Keep it up!!
Honestly, this is a good video! I was worried that after you ran out of Avatar content, there wouldn't be a lot of places to go, but this is very entertaining and interesting! I also really like the way you do patreon shout-outs.
as an Aussie, its a very interesting subject. Grown up hearing stories about Yowies; but as youve said we dont have bears, we have even had news paper articles about Yowies throwning rocks at tourists.
There's a whole range of theories about the Yowie, but one that I'm particularly fond of is the Megafauna Drop Bear theory. I mean, it's a load of crap, obviously (but remember that Drop Bears are very real and very dangerous), but there's something uniquely Australian about it that I've always loved. Once, three kids snuck out while on camp and one sat on another's shoulders and they pretended to be the Yowie while the third took a picture. Everyone knew it was fake, but it became an inside joke for our whole school. The community around Bigfoot, or the Yowie, or Sasquatch, or whatever is, in my opinion, far more interesting than the actual creature, and at the end of the day, it can just be a bit of fun to entertain a friend, or scare a cousin, or wind up a teacher.
I mean my first thought was that it was an idea brought over by the british that then fused with whatever culture already existed, or mutated due to distance from other sources and the unique shit in australia
I think one big thing people forget when talking about Bigfoot sightings and video/photo evidence is how terrifying it would be. A gorilla could end a human in a heartbeat, now that gorilla is walking like a human and is taller than you and you have met.... In the middle of the woods when you did not expect to find it. I would shit myself and start booking it
This… the part when he was crapping on dude for not running up to that (obv fake baby Bigfoot). You wouldn’t run up on a baby gorilla if you know that it’s parents are around. Now Imagine those gorillas over 7ft and over 500-600 pounds… nah.. Bigfoot like beings have been seen all around the world since the beginning of time and there are so many witness that have came out Ex cops, military, presidents. Not all of them can be lying some of these witness are outdoorsmen who would know if it’s a walking bear but swear up and down it’s not
Exactly! If ya come across a grizzly suddenly on a trail you think your gonna whip out the phone and take pretty pics! Your gonna shit yourself and get the hell outa there !!! Primal fear and self preservation is still hardwired in the "modern human " now when a person sees a bigfoot your brain goes 1000 miles beyond WTF
Yeah if big foot exist, the first good evidence will probably be hair or bone or a corpse not a video. Why because if your first intinct when seeing a massive unknown hairy creature is to pick up a camera and film it. You are really not likely to bring back that footage yourself to civlization.
MAKE A PART TWO!!!!!!! When I clicked on this video I knew it was gonna be funny as heck and be entertaining, but I actually genuinely loved this so much I watched it a second time.
i cant tell you how happy I am that you're sticking around after avatar. Your humor and commentary style and comedy are so fucking fun i find myself re watching all your old videos on loop in the background while im doing shit. Keep up the amazing work dude!
I was scared that after ythe avatar series wrapped up on your channel there wouldn't be any where to go from here, but his content you've been branching into is utterly amazing , just binged the last 4 months worth of content , so happy too witness the birth of something amazing , finally, for he first time , off too patreon I go
This man is incredible at finding every unfilled niche of videos I want to watch and then makes them. 10/10 channel, came for the Avatar, stayed for the humor.
My theory is that there was a time when the most threatening thing you could encounter was another tribe, or another hominid, so we are super attuned to see these things. In the past that was just explained through culture stories, and now we have had to develop new culture stories.
Solid theory. We're afraid of other people we don't know. You'd be spooked today if you bumped into a random in the woods, especially if they were bigger than you. Makes sense that cultures would spread the idea of some large man thing lurking around, weather it be from another tribe or some savage loner out for blood
My theory is that big foot and other extraterrestrial beings have been BS stories since the beginning of time, crazy how now that everyone has cameras and technology has improved, that these sightings have drastically dropped
Their prints match those of Paranthropus in Africa 2 million years ago. The same prints are also confirmed in China As for evidence, there's literally mountains of it, just depends if you're being objective or not
I’m in two camps on the whole Bigfoot thing. On one hand, I know of several instances where locals say a thing exists, and “professionals” and “scientists” say it doesn’t. What did the locals do? They shot it, brought it in, and said “You’re right, this doesn’t exist.” Professionals denied it for a while, said it was brought in from out of state, then eventually claimed they always knew. My Grandma had stories like that, she was the one who brought in the coyote/wolf (Coywolf) which “didn’t exist”. So I have no trouble believing something exists, but we’re told, by authority figures, that we’re stupid if we believe it. On the other hand, I bring it back to my Grandma. If it did exist, and in the USA? Someone would have shot one by now. So, I have serious doubts on them existing. Edit* I feel I should mention; the Coywolves were killing her farm animals, she was protecting them, not hunting for fun. She asked permission to shoot them, they said she was lying about them existing, (this was 60-70 years ago) things spiraled from there.
@@dominica4799 nah, you're thinking too small. If Bigfoot is an intelligent ape, he clearly just shoots any hunters that attempt to get him in self-defence, and is a far better marksman.
I was wondering where you were going to go after Avatar and Im gonna be honest. Not disappointed Id love to hear you over analyze a ton of silly stuff. Your voice your tempo and humor are amazing
my parents were halfway down the longest trail at tishamingo state park when they heard something holler down the hollar next to them and had a boulder hucked onto the trail behind them before they saw what they said was a big foot with white hair and a long beard pick up another boulder my dad took out his gun fired into the sky and the big foot ran off a heck of a story to tell after they got home they left non believers and came back on the sane page as me
This video and therefore your channel reminded me that Avatar is a thing. Watched a decent amount as a kid but never all of it. A few days later and I'm now back after having watched the entire show. Really just wanted to see Zuko's story. So strangely enough steering away from Avatar content got your video reccomended to me and thus got me into some Avatar.
It’s not your knowledge of Avatar that I’m here for. It’s your own, unique style of sharing information and thoughts that makes your videos good. You don’t have to be an expert on what you’re analyzing, just need to perfect how you share your analysis.
Bro I thought I was done after your avatar series but this was a banger. You just have that charisma, humor, and voice to make this type of video work. Please keep creating.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, it was hilarious! I'm leaning towards believing in a giant primate in the woods. You have a twisted, delightful sense of humor. Subscribed.
Something that ThinkerThunker has analyzed is Patty's arm length (exact same size as her legs) while human arms are 16% shorter than their legs. Considering Patty's elbow bends, it would be impossible for a guy to be in a monkey suit in this case.
Yep saw that. The “tri diver” channel did an even better break down of the measurements. He has some excellent analysis on bigfoots videos. Most are easily proved to be fake but there is a few he can’t explain and he thinks they are legit
@@SkidsandMudflapFAN3 he stopped doing videos a couple years ago. He’s busy taking care of 4 boys and one is handicap. So he stopped doing breakdowns. But the ones he’s made are awesome
I wear glasses... but anyone who says this is a man in a suit needs to wear glasses, this is the best footage of a genuine female Sasquatch there is...
@@nicholaswilliams4336 I wear glasses, too. And can see that seam in the upper thigh from that tight suit. No, it’s not from the fingers brushing the leg as it walks either.
I love when they do the measurements and act like it’s valid as proof that it can’t be a man. But the first walk sequence Bigfoot doesn’t match the second walk sequence in measurements. So it’s not reliable, unless it’s two different people/Bigfoot. The latter being a wash since both Witnesses claim the same one walked up and away…then turned and went out in the open across the creek bed. How that made sense to them is beyond me. It went out in the open! Doesn’t fit the secretive elusive creature of Sasquatch does it?
This video was fantastic. I loved the editing. I wasn't even really interested in Bigfoot, but your presentation was so good I was captivated. Also that end credits speech sounds like WWE maybe?
This video has offically convinced me that Overanalyzing Avatar, as good as it is/was, has only held you back. You've come a long long way from those humble first episodes
My grandfather has sworn up and down that he has truly encountered sasquatch. He would say how they just wanted to avoid people and they were simply a hidden Native Tribe who left the outside world alone to tend to their own devices and families. Idk if its real never had any definitive yes or no always a maybe. But personally I think his take on it is interesting, seeing how my grandfather is of Native American stock adds a kinda obscure angle to it.
Hey man cool heritage story. I'm native American and part of heritage is a creature called saskets. The government created Indian agents to assimilate/destroy our culture and anglicized our language changing our native word from "saskets" to "sasquatch" which is where the word comes from. They are nice beings that take care of the spirit world and our physical world that's why we can't see them all the time.
The native people of Canada’s west coast have always described these Bigfoot-like creatures as “people”. They have their own words for them in their languages, but the one commonality seems to be respect and reverence toward them.
Yeah the rabbit holes of bigfoot-esque stories from a Native American perspective get pretty odd. Not interdimensional Monkey odd but the type that feels real but a little off
a lot of "sasquatch" encounters could literally be fugitives living in the woods. or just people doing pranks. there is a lot of crazy people out there
@user-hl3qv8qg2s I've spent damn near my whole life in the woods. I've never once seen anyone out in the middle of the wilderness "playing pranks" on strangers. There's crazy people out there, but no one does that. And fugitives? I understand that you are trying to think rationally about it, but none of that is very rational.
At the time this was filmed we were landing men on the moon. People that say a costume couldnt be faked dont have enough imagination or determination. You may not spend the time to study and make a suit with a grainy video but the man was 'looking' for bigfoot and he happened to film it. This is the best footage we have. 55 years later and this is still the best. That says a lot.
Same for aliens, I will only believe in Bigfoot if someone gets a whole ass body, and sends it to every university around the damn world on a walking tour of SCIENCE!!!!
My theory: The origin of Sasquatch, which became the mythos of Bigfoot, is based on encounters that early indigenous Americans had with Arctodus Simus (North American Short-Faced Bear). Unlike the modern bears we encounter in North America (Grizzley/Brown Bear, Kodiak Bear, Black Bear, and Polar Bear) Arctodus Simus was most likely a painted bear similar to its cousin and closest living relative the Spectacled Bear of South America. In as such, it most likely had facial fur coloration that may have obscured its facial features. Thus, making it difficult to identify it as a bear. These massive bears stood taller than modern Polar Bears, the tallest living species today, which when on all fours stood as tall as a human and upright stood twice the height of a human, would have been absolutely frightening to any human prehistoric or living. Whereas we have absolutely no skeletal remains of Sasquatch from anywhere in the US, or the world for that matter, fossil evidence exists across the Pacific coast and as far east as Ohio and Tennessee for Arctodus Simus. Arctodus Simus' suspected feeding habits also fit with indigenous American stories regarding Sasquatch, in that Sasquatch would often arrive at settlements of the Pacific Northwest tribes after successful hunting/fishing expeditions. Arctodus Simus is believed to have been foremost a scavenger. While it may have attempted to run down prey, it is largely believed to have scavenged off of prey other carnivores brought down. This would also fit with why there haven't been any indisputable sightings and modern evidence of the existence of Sasquatch. Arctodus Simus went extinct about 12,000 years ago. Well after humans began coming to the Americas. It's return to American folklore would come about in the 1950's largely due to the rise in interest of American folklore stories. Paul Bunyan, Johnny Appleseed, George Washington (and the Cherry Tree), etc. These stories, both historical and mythical, became popular. Likewise, we have always been interested in cryptid species, such as the Lochness Monster, mermaids, sea monsters, etc.
A lot of stories like this are a cultural thing. Stories from your people affect how you see the world around you, and if those stories are _old_ as many First Nations ones are, the core ideas can stay, but specifics will absolutely shift as cultures do. Humans have been on the west coast for at _least_ twenty thousand years - White Sands footprints - and probably longer. That much time with primarily oral traditions will result in some shifts in interpretation of stories like a large bear living a similar lifestyle to the people of the time becomes a large person over the generations.
@@bryangibson2788 with the story Roosevelt retold, didn’t he outright say he thought it was a regular brown bear doing all that and the guy he heard it from was just really superstitious?

I would love more videos about Kryptids, there are not very many that weren't made by someone who is either click baiting or absolutely and unwaveringly convinced it's all true. You, with your perfect amount of scepticism are really enjoyable to listen to about this stuff.
You know, the initial "bigfoot" footprints could have just been from some guy with gigantic feet walking around the area barefoot. Ever seen a dude with gigantism? HUGE feet! The other sightings? As said in this video. 50-100 yards + thick foliage of the woods + a bear walking on its hind legs. Yeah I'd think I'd seen bigfoot if I saw that.
