Overcome imposter syndrome and fear of success as an artist and a creative.
I've been sabotaging my own work for as long as I can remember - never happy about any of my achievements, questioning my every move. I lived a busy city life in London, hustling and working endlessly, and I still wasn't happy. I moved to the countryside & pursued a different, more creative career, and I am still feeling like an imposter. Perhaps I need this video more than anyone, so partially, I am making it for myself. I hope it helps you too!

Oh, you're doing it correctly, Daria! Watercolors are layered (or glazed, as it's called), starting with light to dark, building up the color intensity and details. You are doing beautifully!! And really, it doesn't matter in art if it's done according to "rules". You do you! You do you so well already! Congratulations on the RU-vid award. 👋🌹

Thank you! 😊 I sometimes layer them up quite thick, sort of like gouache, so my painting turn out rather vivid. I like how it turns out, but it sometimes loses the watercolour quality as the result! Learning never ends, but you’re right, sometimes just doing it and experimenting, rather than fixating on the “rules” is the best you can do!

I understand you perfectly as I too feel fear frequently. I think that, that is exactly why we do not want to leave the comfort zone, as it is said lately. Who wanst to live with fear...I stopped fearing to acknoknowledge that I love to be in my confort zone because nature is not only predictable, but to a large extent at least, peaceful and friendly. And the world beyond our boundaries is not so. And tha is not fair. I love your videos because are capable to restablish my mind peacefulness in a selfish world. Thanks for doing all that.

Either this is a common fear or somehow I have found the right diagnosis for my mental affliction. I have feared going public and revealing my story writing for many years. So I keep on writing and rewriting my stories and have turned many into book length novels. What's the use of trying and being rejected or worse yet, being successful and have to face all the critique. Thanks for giving me a little more courage to publish my work, pre-humously.

You are amazingly talented in the videos I have seen. I share them with my mother and sister in law who resonate with you as well. You are extremely worthy in your field(s) as you live and breathe!! It would be amazing to see your work on display so we could walk around and admire them, then purchase before heading home! Wow that was such a powerful video and it got right to my soul. I am very much like you. I don’t acknowledge my own worth. You are much stronger than you think. Your work is amazing and so good that you will start to sell your art. Your art is just as much “art” as any other artist and yes there will always be people who try to hold you/us down. But they are not more right than you are . It’s just their opinion nothing else. They are in their right to dislike what we do and sometimes they tell us in a mean way what they think. But we have to remember that it’s not the truth it’s just their opinion and we have ours. We have just as much value than they have. We are the main person in our life and what others think is actually not important at all. We must do what we like and make the best out of our lives every day❤️

It is an interesting thought that in order to live more comfortably you have to experience discomfort that comes from growing your comfort zone 🤔 I always heard of comfort zone in a negative connotation but this makes way more sense. Everyone of us wants to be comfortable, but the only way how to get there is by growing what feels comfortable to you. And that warrants a degree of discomfort. Feels counterintuitive 😅 but makes so much sense. Anyway, I’m rambling. Beautiful video and well done on persevering, putting in all the effort and growing as a professional and a person! I will never understand how people think doing a creative thing is easy and that if something is beautiful it must be effortless. I was a UI/UX designer (so working with mostly engineering) and the amount of times I would get over the shoulder "help" or asked to "just design something real quick" was insane and frustrating.

Thank you for talking about this .I struggle with all mental disorders as I am surrounded by people who are opposite of me..they don't understand me..I feel like I'm weird..sometimes I question myself am I really wrong? First congratulations on realizing that you are worthy …fear I always remember that it means False Evidence Appearing Real… our minds like to create “what if” scenarios and the majority of the time what really happens should not have had us crippled with beliefs that could have not been further from the truth or outcome of that situation in fact you look back and realize I should have never caused myself to endure the thoughts I had! Next, congratulations on your YT award for so many enjoy not only the art you create but also enjoy you and your spirit! To imagine 100K people through out the world are enjoying what you’ve created I would definitely imagine that a good amount of us would enjoy the ability to purchase the tangible pieces in which you have created!
