Demiurge is my favorite guardian, he is like a son who always tries to make his dad happy

Nobody can blame you for thinking suspiciously about Demiurge. 1) He's a demon (obviously). 2) He's always scheming. 3) He gives off that aura of treachery due to his voice-actor's splendid performance. Just remember what kind of ruler and place Demiurge is serving under. That will clear up a lot of misunderstandings (and will enforce a lot of other "misunderstandings" :) )

Fun fact: only the emperor did not kneel when Demiurge told the guests to, because he wears equipment that gives him immunity (or high resistance) to mind control

this is why overlord is in my top 3 animes we get 20 minutes of dialog and it's still an amazing episode just goes to show how well they did with the characters and the world building

Sometimes its not about the death and destructions. Occasionally its about sending a message. They don't necessarily have to be mutually exclusive either.

If you want more Overlord after you've gotten caught up on the next season, I recommend Isekai Quartet: Ainz and the gang get transported to another other world along with some friends from other popular isekai shows, one of which is Saga of Tanya the Evil which I'd also recommend.

Demiurge is absolutely a slimy schemer of the worst kind. He is cunning, ruthless, manipulative, and dangerously intelligent. He also just so happens to be utterly loyal to Nazarick. So all of those traits, that would have made him a deadly adversary, in fact make him one of Ainz's best allies.

Seriously my man you are in for a treat. The next few episodes especially, and all of season 4 just keep delivering.

Fluder, compared to other new world people is pretty powerful. hes been a living weapon when it comes to the empire putting fear of them into neighboring countries. Fluder is pretty old, and its because hes learned how to slow his aging through magic. however hes obsessed with magic and trying to surpass his own abilities. which pretty much are still limited to Tier 6 magic.

Ah yes the good episode where we finally fully realize Ainz is playing Tic-Tac-Toe while everyone else is playing chess

Hello friend, it's good to see another Overlord video. Even now, when half the characters that appear in the Opening have died. Maybe you should react to the songs after watching the series, so you can attest to how good the Japanese are at presenting without spoiling, because only after watching the series can you correctly interpret the meaning of the opening. As always, I am going to comment on information found in the light novel in order to clarify some things that may have been unclear. As it is already obvious, Fluder is to blame for everything that happens in this arc. He is the one who "discovers" the ruins of Nazarick and tells the Emperor that a powerful magician named Ainz Own Goal lives there and suggests exploring them taking into account that: 1) The "ruins" are in realm territory so any invaders will naturally be assumed to be from the Re-Estize realm. 2) By sending the Workers as scouts, even if they are captured, they don't belong to any organization, so no one is responsible for them and they can be sacrificed. 3) Even if Ainz gets some Worker to confess that they are actually from the Empire, the emperor has arranged everything so that the person responsible for the recruitment is a worthless noble who can have his head cut off and say that they didn't know anything about it. The main idea is that if the Worekers are successful, the Empire will seize any treasures Ainz Own Goal has before the Kingdom can claim them. And, if the Workers are wiped out, that means AInz Own Goal is strong and can be a formidable ally. So, the Empire can pretend that the Kingdom is the main culprit in everything and reach out to the sorcerer with a "helping hand". Of course, this was all a trap for the Emperor from the start. During the trip there is a discussion about who should be the wife of the Emperor. He seems to sense that Renner's true personality is not as good as seems and for that reason, he despises her. Fluder then suggests to the ruler of the Draconic Realm, that she is a half-dragon descended from one of the dragonlords. The reason why Fluder is interested in her is because it is known that he can use Wild Magic, although it is not as powerful as true dragons because her blood is not pure enough, but he would still like to investigate it. However, despite having many years to live, she takes the form of a little girl because she can favorably impress people and because of this, Jirvich dislikes her. The Four Imperial Knights are the strongest elite military unit of the Baharuth Empire. They serve as the personal guard of the Emperor, but one of them, the Immovable, was killed when Mare caused the earthquake in the palace. In this chapter we see two of them, but I want to emphasize the blonde woman with the bangs in her eye. Her name is Leinas Rockbruise, she was born to a noble family of the Baharuth Empire, where she earned a measure of fame and renown by defeating monsters and beasts around her family's domain. However, one day, she was cursed after she slew a monster, which disfigured the right side of her face, which is described as a disgusting state due to he curse which causes it to secrete pus. Knowing her appearance would bring shame upon them, her fiancé abandoned her and her family disowned her. Afterwards, her only goal in life became to get revenge on those who wronged her and to find a way to cure her so-called "incurable" curse. Leinas's abilities and reputation eventually caught Emperor Jircniv's attention, who allowed her to have her revenge in exchange for joining his personal guard. Though Leinas serve Jircniv as his private guard, she made it very clear that she is willing to abandon the him if she ever feels that her goal or her life is at risk. The Emperor is well aware of her potential defiance but choose to overlook it and allow her to continue performing her duties, knowing there is no other forces to fulfill her demand. That was, of course, until the appearance of Nazarick. At first the Emperor wants to have a "War of Words", which in Japan would be a political conversation designed to twist everything in his favor and get the most information. The problem is that at that moment he doesn't know that Ainz is undead nor does he understand his power. The first thing he sees are two contradictory messages: On the one hand, a Dragon that is clearly there to show strength; But on the other, the emissaries are elven children who, while powerful, do not transmit enough information that the emperor can use to find out about Ainz beforehand. Then when he arrives in Nazarick the first thing he sees are the Battle Maids Yuri and Lupusregina. In the novel it is revealed to us that Jirvirch had brought several daughters of the most prominent nobles of the empire to give them as slaves to Ainz, but when he saw the beauty of the Battle Maids, he realized that those two were more beautiful than any woman in his royal harem. When he speaks to them, the emperor tries to seduce them (he is very good at manipulating women) but they do not flinch at all, although they are still courteous. Jirvich doesn't know if it's because they don't find him attractive or because they have too much loyalty towards Ainz and so he tries to get an idea of his opponent's charisma from this. But when he sees the 5 Death Knights everything changes. And it is that each one of them is as powerful as the entire imperial army, so only those servants are 5 times the power of his entire empire. In the novel the throne room was filled with a huge number of powerful servants of Nazarick. In addition, the architecture itself, the art and finally the appearance of Ainz, who resembles a god of death... All this made Jirvich completely change his objective from "War of Words" to "get out alive and with the Empire intact." Demiurge, who is transformed because he doesn't want to risk someone recognizing him as Jaldabaoth, uses his voice to force everyone to their knees, but Jirvich manages to resist him because he secretly carries a medallion that protects his mind from magic. An important detail is that all this conversation between Jirvich and Ainz took place without the former knowing anything. Demiurge was so sure that everything he had planned was nothing but an indirect suggestion from Ainz, who in his mind controls absolutely everything and knows everything, that he didn't even tell him what he had to say or do. So, all of Ainz's dialogues were an improvisation, in which the Overlord used the typical formulas or quotes of a Japanese salaryman. In our language they would be the typical phrases you hear when you call "Customer Service". What terrifies the Emperor the most is the fact that despite Ainz having overwhelming power, he is apparently not arrogant. And it is that the best tactic of the weak is to take advantage of the confidence of the strong to defeat him. In addition, he believes that Ainz has an intelligence that surpasses him, because he can't understand his way of proceeding and that is why he is so pressured not to fall for the Overlord's plans. What he doesn't know is that Ainz is a coward, he's not smart at all but he improvises all the time, and besides, he doesn't have a plan nor does he understand Demiurge's. And speaking of that. Demiurge is so smart that he immediately deduces without much difficulty the Emperor's plan to form an Alliance against Nazarick and also tells us the steps he will take: First he will try to make Ainz demonstrate his power so that the rest of the world recognizes the danger that Nazarick represents; then he will wait patiently while the Overlord makes the inhabitants of the conquered lands suffer, increasing his discontent; thirdly he will work behind the scenes to rally all the nations and only at the end will he reveal that he is actually against Ainz. But according to Demiurge this will fail because Nazarick's first goal of conquest is the city of E-Rantel, where Momon the Adamantite Adventurer is already famous. For some reason, which we will see later, he will prevent the Emperor's plan from succeeding. Also, in this episode we are confirmed that Princess Renner is already working with Nazarick from Demiurge's comment: We could have used the Golden Princess to achieve a similar effect, but that would be a waste of a very useful resource. Finally, when they are proposing the titles for Ainz, Albedo emphasizes "Supreme King" because Ainz was the leader of his creators, but in a very subtle and indirect way she also tries to establish that only Ainz deserves to rule Nazarick. But in the end the title of Cocytus is too appropriate. Well friend, I hope this comment has served you. See you in the next chapter!

Poor Jircniv, his stable life just got ripped to shreds and he's got no clear path to salvage his Empire. From here on out everything he does just makes it worse. Anyone that impresses Demiurge is clearly a scary person Golden Princess has the attention of Nazarick.

Btw this was a ploy by Demiurge so that Nazarick will no longer be limited in moving in the dark but instead be free to do what they want in the light. And if they encounter hero types, Nazarick has the moral high ground to meet out punishment to those that dare to sully the name of AINZ OOAL GOWN!! But yeah... thats all

After Overlord, the obvious replacements would be Konosuba, Re: Zero, or Slime. Eminence in Shadow is a another fantastic one that is still ongoing for another 3 weeks, but you should probably watch a few others before that one. It is a true parody anime Monty Python style. As such for optimum enjoyment you should be familiar with most common tropes.

Finally! I have been waiting for this episode ever since you started Overlord. There are episodes that are more epic than this one and there are episodes that hit feels much much harder than this one, but this remains my personal favorite episode.

about the female kinght: she was cursed by a demon and has pus coming out of half of her face. it also got her the powerful cursed knight class. she serves the emperor out of convenience and has a clause in her contract alloying her to leave at any time

It is incredible how well the writing has been done to make a basic diplomatic meeting fit in an action anime.

Here we go !

I love how they're not tackling world domination the usual war against everyone way. With their forces they could probably do it and succeed but instead they are applying their powers in specific pressure points to make everything around them bow before their might.

If you looking for an anime with lots of character development and world building with a good storyline I suggest "Claymore", "Casshern Sins" or "Ergo Proxy".

Not much lore for this episode as it kind of sets up the rest of this season and season 4, other than that THIS event was the primary reason that Ainz allowed Demiurge's plan to have the Workers "invade" Nazerick, it's an excuse for world domination. "If you won't allow us to live peacefully away from all of you then we will force our peace upon the entire world." A few small points: The cloth was yellow because her hair dye is turning back to liquid because of the heat and sweat from riding a horse, also she's basically a powerful mercenary that only serves because she has a deal with Jircniv. Demiurge commanding them to bow before Ainz was entirely intentional, it was done as a way to "humble" Ainz's position to allow a more "even" negotiation between Ainz and Jircniv. Basically "we have both made mistakes so therefore there is no need for an apology tour so long as we both agree to look beyond this." Jircniv did NOT bow because he has a magic ring that prevents a lot of magic being activated against him, such as compulsion magic. Ainz knew this fact and Jircniv knows that he knew and it was one of the reasons he realized it was Fluder that sold him out, because noone else could have known. Fluder traded the Empire he helped to establish in exchange for studying and learning new magic under Ainz. That scene always gives me chills and makes me smile, "Oh great Master of the Abyss!" "What do you offer?" "Everything!" Also he feels no real guilt for making that trade, he built the Empire, and is the main reason it still exists, therefore it's only right that he can sell it out to further his own knowledge.

One, Two, Ainz will FLEX on you... Three, Four, grovel on the floor.... Five, Six, bow to Nazarick... Seven, Eight lets Intimidate.... Nine, Ten, Genocide Again!

Sad part the hall was much more pompous in the novel and the guards on the side all equipped with magic items that humans regard as legendary.

Off topic from overlord: If you're looking for anime that complements Overlord, there is two others; They aired around the same time and basically they kind made everything epic. The other two anime that goes with overlord if you're big on this genre are: "That time I got reincarnated as a slime" and "So I became a spider, so what?". You reacted to the opening/ending before, but both series are extremely good and live up to the same hype of Overlord (with Spider having some very unfortunate production issues, but still one of the more top tier anime in terms of story and power fantasy)

Remember how T7 magic is in the realm of the gods? Fluder (old dude) can use T6 and is an absolute force in this world, he leads the magic research for the Emperor. The yellow goop on the hankey/bandage was from a curse she recieved adventuring. Her Only goal is to cure it, atm working for the Emperor is her best chance but she will never risk a fight she can't win for him. Yea the talking was a lot of political manoeuvring in that talk the Emporer trying to get out of the situation and Ainz looking to trap and pin him into backing his kingdoms claims legitimacy. As for the names, all those emotional suppressions are in reaction to how much he's cringing at the names 🤣

he went in with gold, magic items and lovely girls. all the things he learned Ainz already possessed. :)

the cloth is yellow because the woman knight was cursed and her right eye leaks puss from the curse constantly. She made a deal with jirc to protect him if he gave her revenge on the one who cursed her, and helped her find a cure. He fulfilled the first part when he had the noble killed.

Fun fact #1: Ainz responded to "Wise King" so badly, because that was Hamsuke's title as the "Wise King" of the Forest. Fun fact #2: they didn't show it in the anime, but in the light novel the scene where Ainz meets Fluder, Narberal Gamma first takes off her ring, and he reacts like how you saw in the show. Ainz then does it, and he nearly pisses himself. Narberal is capable of tier 8 magic, something that's considered "godly" in comparison to Fluder, someone who can access no higher than tier 6. Narberal herself has magic power well past the epitome of human magic casting. Ainz is even higher than that.

Next Anime to react to: *FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST - BROTHERHOOD*

I'm still suspicious of Demiurge. I'm not gonna change my mind until he actually show Ainz what he's experimented with to create scrolls (Not a spoiler since these are actually the Abelion sheep that ware never mentioned again since season 2)

Demiurge in the LN is much clearer as a character even as early as the first volume. Reading the LN you'd never have doubted his loyalty because its made clear that he's demonic evil but he's AINZ's demonic evil. The anime doesn't do the best job of portraying this and quite a few anime only reactors make this mistake.

To be fair, your intuition about Demiurge is pretty spot on if you aren't a member of Nazarick.
