You don't need to be in vc for that kind of ult synergy tho, just check the dude's ult charge, nano when he seems ready or the situation calls for it. Also that Genji could've asked in text chat at the beginning of the match, he can spam my ult is ready too. But that Genji was a fucking annoyance tho. I would've nanoed and told him to stfu

I main ana and rarely use chat. I just spam ult ready until my genji responds back and then just wait for him to ult

@@ArchSchizo The dozen or so small and medium health packs scattered around every map, competent healers, and multiple dps characters that have in-built healing (though that last point only applies for 3-4 characters) are all points for why it shouldn't matter and if anything would just make dps players in lower elo's hide in corners out of los (line of sight) passively healing for 2 minutes when a healer or a health pack (which they should know the locations of) could have done the same thing in a second.

I’m plat 1 in support and I’ve been queued (solo) into mid masters games. As in, I checked profile and these people are masters 4-2 ON THE ROLE THEY ARE PLAYING IN GAME. Shit happens some times

Bro, if someone is asking for something, unless you specifically have other plans, why not just trust them? Like sure, maybe it doesn't work out, but he's calling for it, so if he flops it, it's his fault. 99% of Genji's just Ult when you have Nano without any regard to your LOS or well being and then BLAME you afterwards after trying to 1v5(or 6 in this case) the enemy team. Like he could've had 40% and if he thinks he can do something with it, trust him. This is coming from a long time support main ... Support your team and what they want to do, even if it might be the wrong play as long as it doesn't make you feed uselessly, why not? Like handing someone a Nano when they want it, doesn't effect you much at all. Also as someone who can be somewhat active in VC, I periodically make calls and every once in a while some quick directions but not much else, if you aren't actively talking in chat, and someone else is trying to direct some semblance of a plan, just follow it. At least everyone who hears it will be on the same page. Again, even if it's wrong, it's better than 5 people (or 6 in this case) doing 5 separate things.

I see what your saying but at the same time if someone makes a call in vc that doesn’t really mean you should just automatically follow it. If it’s actually a bad play, but the person calling it out doesn’t know that, that doesn’t mean you should do it. You don’t need to just blindly follow someone for the sole purpose of clearing your name if it doesn’t work. Yes you are there to support your team, but that doesn’t mean enabling every bad situation. This is high level play so this probably isn’t the case but. Let’s say the genii is just feeding, or can’t get any kills. If they ask for a nano, especially when they are just sitting in the back doing nothing and don’t have blade yet, why would you nano them? Just to get them to shut up and maybe fail, somehow making it there fault? People who dismiss all possible causes and immediate push blame onto others are just going to find another way to do so if it doesn’t work out. There are many unknowns about this situation in particular, so we can only make a call based on the information we are given. From Ana pov this could have been a completely different situation.

@@GriFFonRec4 this is coming from someone who plays support in every game. If I am stacked with someone ok sure . However with a rando it’s a huge gamble. All you have to go on is “trust me bro” Also I’m pretty sure Ana was waiting for genji to have ulti because he did get nanoed right after he got it. I don’t trust my dps unless I’ve already observed that they are competent.

Hell, sometimes my support partners don't even know how to heal me so when there is a Winston I just die for free, when alone he shouldn't be able to do anything to a competent back line.

that's just a difference in skill rather than the character being a fundamental counter though

@@mentarium if it applies often enough at that skill rating, I'd still argue that in that space it is a counter. Like sure, widow counters zarya, but if you're a metal tier player with the aim of a cucumber, you're not countering anything. I think that it changes depending on the character you're talking about as well. Like if it's OG brig you're getting passive value for existing, whereas other characters you aren't doing that.

@@mentarium People generally use the phrase "counter picks" just to mean 'what hero performs well against another'. Will changes depending on skill level. Sure, counter picks fundamentally don't care about skill, but people typically reference their own experience for these things so skill becomes a factor. For example, they may be in silver, so pharah is a fine pick against zarya. Not a true "counter" but a good guide on what to pick
