Great video and content- I would love to see a video looking at the performance and effectiveness of 32 Long hardcast and 32 HR Magnum for defensive purposes in this gun or the LCR 327 vs 327 Magnum.
Actually, in 327 Fed Mag, it is designed for short barrels from the start so you do get a LOT more power out of it over H&R Mag, but I do agree that H&R Mag is enough for almost all cases. I'd only load it with 327 Mag is if I was in bear country.
I have a Taurus 327. I lost the same part you did. Taurus sent me new parts for free and I lock tighted them in and haven't had any problems since. I use mine as a 32 s&w long wad cutter revolver. I like the 32 family of pistols and think the Taurus is the middle of the road when compared to older H&R or S&W revolvers. It's better than H&R and not as nice as a S&W.
Guys: The cylinder fell out of the gun after firing the 6 rounds Taurus rep (w/o missing a beat): Oh, you didn't want the one with the rapid reload feature?
This may come as a SHOCK to some of the folks doing the Q&A, but when you say you 'don't like x', how about you say WHY and HOW you don't like 'x'; ie, the REASONS behind 'not liking' 'x'? Didn't like the grips? WHY did you not like the grips? The two guys who said they didn't like them (I'm at 14:30 in the video, so others may yet say the same thing), NEVER bothered to tell us WHY! Ok, back to the video. Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY
I still plan on getting the taurus 327. But I've been told that a colt python will also come apart after a few full power .357 rounds. I've also been told that the new pythons are much more durable. Over 10 years ago I purchased the 410 judge. I got caliber adapters for it in 32 HR and 32 SW. Wow! What a fun experience shooting the 32 caliber series of bullets. So the 32 is not new to me. But the guns in that caliber are very hard to find. And one in DA/SA is even harder to find.
I have 3 of them. A 856ULCH, 856CH and a 3-inch Defender model. All 3 are reliable shooters. Taurus and XS offer tritium front sights for them. There are good holsters available from MK Tek and Phlster. This is a series of revolvers well worth the money.
Failure? Near as I can tell from your helter skelter presentation you had a screw back out. These days that kind of thing and worse is happening with even expensive guns. Issues like cylinders locking up, sights coming loose, inability to unload or load have all happened to guns from the big three as well. A smart shooter takes any new gun to the range and not only runs it through its paces but watches for things like screws or timing issues. If something as simple as a screw backing out occurs well a dab of blue and a screwdriver will head off a failure. I don't get the snotty attitude about an external hammer. I am in the market for a snubbie and am likely going with a spurless since I intend it primarily as a pocket pistol to be paired with a second gun. However if it was the only gun one had I can easily see a desire to have SA capabilities for a longer shot. With a proper holster and appropriate technique a hammer spur is not a big problem. A good case for options can be made and it would be good for manufacturers to offer both.
To be fair a snubnose .327 is the kind of gun the typical customer will buy, get a 50 round box of ammo for it, and 27 years later the box will still have 34 rounds left😂
