For the shredded beef:
1.5 lbs flank or skirt steak
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 red bell pepper
1 white onion
3 garlic cloves
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp chopped cilantro
2 small tomatoes, or 1 large
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 bay leaf
2-3 tbsp tomato paste
2 tsp salt, or to taste
1/2 tsp pepper, or to taste
For the black beans:**
14 oz black beans, soaked overnight
2-3 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion
1 red bell pepper
2-3 garlic cloves
4 tbsp panela
1 tsp cumin
Fried plantains
White rice
