Hello all, this video took around 24 hours to process to HD. I uploaded it yesterday! RU-vid is going through some uploading issues right now so that is why uploads have been delayed. Hope they get it sorted soon otherwise I gotta upload videos 2 days in advance to get them out on time.
New Orleans native here. The I-10 stretch entering Baton Rouge was very well done. New Orleans was a different story though. I'm glad the city is represented in C2C, but NOLA was way too close to BR (over 50 miles apart in real life), and the interstate was not mapped anywhere near what the actual interstate system looks like entering NOLA from I-10 East.
Thank You for crusin my roads!!! Grew up in Alexandria, Lived Natchitoches, and Now Live Baton Rouge. MANY MANY TRIPS up and down I49 and i have to say that a lot of familiar roads and landmarks were modeled!!! Thumps Up!!!
I thought it was only my grandma who said to look for white horses! I grew up in St Joe, Mo, and she was in central Kansas, so it could very well be a midwest thing, but it was funny to hear you call that out. :-)
I visited New Orleans in 2015. It's a cool city. I ❤️ traveling and experiencing different cultures. I definitely recommend visiting the state and the city because it's cool. I lived in Arkansas for awhile, so I was close to Louisiana. One of my favorite museums is National D-Day Museum in New Orleans. Don't forget to experience the local cuisine, too, because it is very good. I bought my mom a Cajun cookbook before I left.
@Jeff - You really provide a nice reprieve from some of the day to day grind. Just wanted to thank you for that, Cheers- Yeah, 5:36 (your comment) it looks like the gamma is cranked up a bit - the roadways looking over-exposed. Glad you enjoyed your weekend, too!
When my family traveled we would always pick a truck company and see who got the highest count of trucks of the company we picked. Now my girl friend, her daughter an I play stacks. When you see a semi with two exhaust pipes we called out stacks. I have to use binoculars because of my vision problems Haha. It's fun.
Kewl to see my state of Louisiana in ATS. Louisiana does look a lot like this too. We are in the middle of a national forest. I could almost see Alexandria when you went through.
nice video, I see that the Kenworth T660 got updated as well as the Coast 2 Coast map mod, AFAIK the engine options for the truck are Cummins ISX, Cummins N14, Paccar, CAT, and probably Detroit Diesels as well. have you tried going up through tennessee yet?
Jeff, great video as always! keep up the good work man!...one thing I picked up on is when you said your driving an 18 speed automatic...but actually in case you might not have known, under all that "automatic" crap, it is a manual transmission, so really your driving a manual truck with an "automated" clutch that shifts on its own and I'm sure you do probably know this, but it gets me when I hear so many people saying they drive an "automatic big rig"....really its not an automatic transmission, its just automated.
To be honest the roads do remind me of Texas with the exception of the no on ramp problem. The T660 is one of my favorite trucks. Hopefully they get it right one day.
I drive commercial vehicles in Canada, mostly Ontario and Quebec. I hate to say, many on-ramps in Quebec have no runway. Your actually thrown rite one the highway after the curve. But most people are pretty good about moving over a lane or giving a gap.
That actually looks relatively close to a drive through Louisiana, minus the huge rocks along the road, we don't have those. Also we don't have vineyards, that would be cotton crops. And the river you were trying to pronounce, the Atchafalya River is pronounced UH-chaf-UH-lie-UH . lol
I live in shrevport and where you go to get on i-49 its nothing like that lol. That would be down town lol also you have to go to 220 to get to 49 north
In real life, you want to take I-20 all the way through Louisiana, get on the Utica Cutoff as soon as you hit Mississippi. Take that all the way to I-55 and then take that all the way down to New Orleans. Baton Rouge traffic is one of the worst. Though not as bad as Los Angeles. I wonder if the map is or will have the Utica Cutoff. It's a nice drive. It goes right by the Natchez Trace Parkway, which is another nice drive that goes from the Mississippi/Lousiana border all the way up to Nashville.
Have you ever been to Dallas, or Texas even? Most the roads are like that down there. It gets really hot and they did the roads in that colour for a reason.
Man I drove Euro Truck Sim a couple years ago and wanted to see some places I know. I live in Texas about an hour outside of Dallas but I'm from New Orleans and wanted to see some stuff I'm familiar with. Of course the landscape isnt accurate but I'll help me learn the highway paths. Think I'm going to make the ATS investment when I get a chance.
I'd like you try Jon Ruda's Freightliner Classic XL. Only if you have the purchased key. I downloaded the new update for ATS version 1.33, but I can't get it to work. I said my old key should work fine and there shouldn't be any conflict with the Volvo VNL-670 mod. That's the only other truck mod I have. The other mods I use is for the Mirror FOB, and Engine mod and one called Immersive with flags for parking. I sure enjoy your trucking and flight sim. videos.
Bit of a late comment but I'd figure I'd still throw it out there, I'm from the Shreveport area and have driven up and down almost all of Louisiana. The reason the stuff was so purple in natchitoches is because the main color of the university there is purple. I'm also amazed at how accurate I-49 was
I always use C2c map driving the Mack Anthem mod already have 15000 miles on it just doing east to west and back 😁. Yes the purple is correct 😁 No framedrops and I drive a lot in that area doing a lot of cargoruns from Phoenix to Florida and back.
It's funny hearing people not from New Orleans say New Orleans. I don't know why but the way we say it sounds slightly different from people not from here. But love the video
I never thought of this bit you think using a Saitek yoke for steering and rudder pedals (toe brakes for throttle and brake) would actually work? Haha its been years since I've played this but now I'm curious
