Lately your watercolor paintings look more realistic than the reference image looks. :) Thanks for the tutorial!

Ah, very interesting technique. I need to try this. One little thing I noticed. Your reference picture shows the bottom left of the leaf to be curled down. The vein follows that curve. Interesting how it conveys that thought by its presence. And the bottom part of the curl seems to be translucent. As if the light is going thru it. I need to try this wet on wet business. I saw you do it with the little girl's face too. Excellent. I think we all learned something very important. Thank you for your instruction.

Is your paper flat on a table or in a slope? Very inspiring work! Thank you for sharing!

I heard him say, in a similar video, that it's at between 8 and 10 degrees tilted toward him. So it's tilted a wee bit, but not much. I've seen some artists working on an almost vertical surface. I'm sure you have too. I watched their paint flow down toward the bottom of the picture but stop right at a certain point if the paper was dry there. I think flatter is easier. I don't like to hold my breath and hope that the paint doesn't run down the page and ruin the picture. Excellent question. I don't see anyone ever ask that, and it's (to me) a very important consideration.
