I love how you structured this as a battle instead of a sequence with one painting and then the other. It really reinforces the differences and sounds like EPIC BATTLE TIME, which is always good.

I definitely identify with you about the whole reason we destroy/wipe out mistakes. I do it too. Actually, too often. That's why I decided to go digital, for I don't have the materials to paint over mistakes/waste in portraits that won't make me happy. The only problem is: Wiping our mistakes brings the problem of not being able to store our development and our history as painters. 😔

I admire the fact that you shared this. I've taken a long break from painting, but feel I'm nearly ready to pick up my brushes again, needed to refresh my mind and see again. Kinda like wiping a painting out to start again, like on your video. If you know what I mean. Love yr work & love yr creative process..

I like your thoughts on not making any one painting that important. One of my mentors, 30 years ago told me "some are paintings, and some are frisbees ." I think he kinda had the same idea.
