Paladins Beginner Guides 2022 - How to Start Each Role!

Hey Folks,
I wanted to go through a beginner guide on how to get started with each role: Frontline, Damage, Flank and Support.
Frontline - Fernando
Support - Ying
Damage - Viktor
Flank - Lex
I believe these are legitimately the easiest characters to start learning and using because they have a lot of viability so if you want to learn how to play frontline, how to play damage, how to play flank or how to play support in Paladins, these will get you started :D

This helped me a ton getting into this game, I love how articulate you are in explaining the rationale behind decisions in a way that helps the viewer come to their own conclusions; not just "this stuff is good" but "here's the decision-making process that I used to get to that point." It doesn't feel like I'm being talked down to but is easily digestible even as a new player.

Thanks man! Sadly I don't play much Paladins anymore lol. Now I mostly do Diablo Immortal, Dauntless and Anvil. My wife still plays but I may consider a return in future. I hope you keep enjoying the game my friend :D

Ayyy robot, popped my build for lex here as requested, it works as follows; Justice served +3 Warrants out +3 Requip +2 Inescapable +2 Conditioned +5 Lemme know what you would tweak hehe. :p

I'd recommend building my Azn Certified H - the difference is the focus on combat slide to make it more viable. I dropped justice cause it seemed weak af cause sometimes you won't get the killing blow!

im new to paladins and have had a lot of fun playing Furia (i think? the winged support that throws that beam) and i wanna buy that edgy lady with the scythe or the fling butterfly looking thing with a staff

Furia is a fairly decent healer and a generally great character. I still enjoy using her quite a bit! The edgy lady is Vora, one of my favourite flanks, she is in a weird spot, but I LOVE using her in regions with higher ping. (I favor androxus in lower ping regions). The butterfly is Willow, she is pretty good if you're good at bombarding your opponents.

cauterise makes it so that supports shouldn't just heal, so with that being said, the best supports rn id say are Io because she has a high damage otput, can heal easily and stuns the enemy, grohk because of his speed boost which can make u more evasive and give u more pushing power, corvus can throw knives and stun enemies, furia gives your team a damage buff with her ult and stuns with her beam and jenos because if u build him right, he can heal your team well enough that its more than just a sustain build (healing w jenos is hardest thing about him), he has void grip to pressure damages, he has his ult which should be used on tanks to get them lower so your team can kill them, his movement ability can let him escape sticky situations if u get nimble, he can heal through walls and his void grip can stop enemies from capturing the objective for a short while

I think you mean Anti-Heal since cauterize ain't a thing anymore. That said, it really comes down to how well you can play the support role. However, if you want to talk about the best supports right now. Seris is still the S tier support. Nobody beats her. Furia and Ying aren't far behind, especially a morale boost stacking Ying. Io is a great choice, but Corvus and Grohk fall VERY short. Grohk requires a competent team that understands him well. And Corvus should never take a stun build unless you want to gimp your team. The problem is that supports that get the idea into their head that they shouldn't be "just healing" due to anti-heal being built into the game...ruin their teams lol. Supports are still very much heal bots in round 1 and 2 and beyond that. Healing is important but you need to PICK when to heal which is what makes the late game more complex. Since a good player will retreat and be out of enemy fire to receive full healing. Anti-heal after all only applies when you have received damage so you can't just spam it in the late stages. Positioning and proper cover are very important. So you make some good points, but be careful not to have a one sided view of the support role. Else you may drastically affect your team.

@@RealAsianRobot also, most new people wont be playing with good players that understand the anti heal, so they won't do that retreat thing. what happens if you cant retreat in time, for example opponent's burst or cc. what im saying is at least in my opinion, hybrid builds can support your team better in the long term, since anti heal will restrict some things and yes you do need some healing, but you cant heal them all the time and when youre not healing what do you do if your role is to support the team? just stand there and hit the enemy with a glorified pea shooter? i think that u should be doing a bit of cc in that downtime.

in regards to that healers being heal bots, I used to main combat medic pip and i could get 80k heals in 10 mins. Since the anti heal change, combat medic pip has becaome near unplayable at the late game, because his only offensive moves are his slow, which is weird to use for your team to attack and his ult, which won't be there every time u need it. this is an example of why i say what i say about supports needing offence

@@mikeoxmaul3526 Pip depends on how he is played really. Some healers won't be as good with anti-heal (for example Jenos is nearly useless late game). But combat medic pip is still very viable, you just need to pick your heals. Granted it is more difficult to run him than Seris or Furia lol.

From the game itself? I am not aware of any other ways to get crystals (as it would be illegal I'm sure)

Hey, I like flanks a lot and have been playing lex, what other flanks should i play?

At the moment Koga and Zhin are great picks. The rest are very skill and situation based. For example VII requires very good use of his skills to survive. Similarly other flanks like Vora or Vatu require very good skill application to be effective :P

@@EniiIscool Seris, Furia are the main ones, but every single support is more or less viable if you play well :). I recommend Seris first and foremost, she is usually the main healer for the team and has the best ult for clutch plays.

wow this is not at all for beginners sadly :/ how do cards work? how do I "build" a character? what are skills or talents as you call them? the first minute of the video is almost incomprehensible for a true beginner :(

This is also ancient lol. I don't do paladins stuff anymore. Are there not better beginner guides by people playing the game? Game wasn't really that awesome so I dropped it from my roster

Buy them with gold my man :). If they are no longer starters, then earn it slowly, they're fairly good champs and still very decently used.

It seems to be a bug on PC, my wife on xbox still has him. maybe they will fix it. I don't play pallies much anymore haha
