Thank you so much for these videos. I’ve just started AIP and I was trying to get a hold of a cookbook and a nutritionist consult. Your videos have practically eliminated the need for either. Your videos are clear and easy to follow. Thanks again. I can’t wait to try this and your nomato sauce!

Stacy I'm really struggling with this AIP ordeal...I'm trying to gain muscle and having a tough time getting all my macros without eating tons of meat (which is making me go broke) any tips?

I can't eat sweet potato. Is it necessary? Or can I sub with butternut squash?

The squash won't be as dense so it'll affect the texture of the pate. I haven't tried this with other root vegetables but it might work🤞

Is this really good?!?!? And how do u get ur livers unfrozen? I have only been able to find them frozen.

Yes, it is!!! As long as it is pureed super well. It has to be nice and smooth. The sweet potato adds such a nice texture and hint of sweetness. I just put the frozen liver in the fridge to thaw overnight.

RealWorldAIP thank you!! I am going to try this!! Liver has been recommend by my naturopath to help with optimizing the thyroid! Hopefully it does!! I an going to commit twice a week for two months once I get the livers soon! Thx

I'm one of those folk who hasn't been able to eat liver...not even "hidden"...and I've tried over and over. We just got our next half cow on Friday and we always get the liver, then pass it on to a friend who loves it...lol. I'm considering trying it once again, but had a question. I've heard that soaking liver in vinegar before preparing it can help remove some of the "ickiness". Are you at all familiar with doing that?

Paula Wisor yes, I mention that in my hidden liver beef scramble video, except I use lemon juice insteas of vinegar. It's definitely worth a try!

Ugh. I need to try more recipes to get in liver. I just made a meatloaf with 2 parts grass fed beef, 1part pork and 1 part calf liver. I soaked it in clean cold water with lemons before blending it. I still felt it was strong. How long should it soak and should the vein always be removed??

I always remove the veins because I can't stand the texture of rubbery bits in my food! They somehow even make it through a thorough blending in the ninja bullet! You can soak the liver overnight with the lemon water, even change the water halfway if you have time. I have not tried hidden liver meatloaf, but I make a scramble that is good. My husband and I started stripping the membrane off the back of baby back ribs by grabbing the membrane with a paper towel and the paper towel helps keep a grip on and pull off the membrane, I think it may work for the raw liver membrane

Silveryanka I'd say 3-5 days in fridge and yes, it freezes very well! :)

I haven't tried it without the onions but I think adding in a little extra sweet potato in their place could work.

Is that beef liver? Thoughts on chicken liver? (As I’ve heard it’s more palatable)

Yes, I'm using beef liver. I can't eat poultry, I react badly to it, but I've heard from many sources that chicken liver is more mild than beef liver!

Is chicken livers considered healthy on the AIP diet? so confusing with all the talks of omega 6 levels in chicken ...

Yes, chicken livers are healthy and AIP compliant! Chicken fat is high in Omega 6 so I wouldn't eat chicken with skin on (or pork) at every meal, but the lean cuts are less of an issue. It is just as important to our Omega 3:6 ratio to increase Omega 3's by eating fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, sardines.

Okay Tbh the thought of eating liver made me actually gag, but this makes it sound way less scary! Lol Not sure how I'll do handeling the raw meat and getting those.... rubbery bits out but if I can eat it, oh well!
