The B**** Slap is often looked at as a weak cheap shot in a fight. While most men would never be caught slapping an attacker in an altercation for fear of being humiliated. The palm strike or "B**** Slap" can be quite effective as a self defense technique.
In this FightFast self defense tip, Jim "Smokey" West demonstrates how using a b**** slap not only disrupts an attacker but can also potentially knockout the threat when striking crucial nerves along the side of the neck. The palm strike also prevents you from damaging your hand and fingers.

Man I am just astounded on how many things that are shown in your channel was actually taught to me in the VSK Jiu-Jitsu system that I was training under. These videos really helped me to re-evaluate the principles and techniques that I've even learnt before in response to certain attacks and attack attempts and help me to gain insight in achieving a goal in a manner that I feel is most efficient for me. This channel has always had lots of good advice, tips and tactics. You guys surely deserve much more credit than what you get now.

It's the vasovagal nerve, striking it results in vasovagal syncope and your down. Be careful when you do this, people talk about it and tell you to do it and if you're in it for real, fine but, when you hit someone there they have zero control and from that moment, when you've incapacitated someone, you're responsible for what happens to them. If it'd self defense, fine but be prepared for court if the fall on their head/face and are injured or killed, particularly if it's not a life or death threat to you. Be responsible when you do things to your "friends" or training partners. "Hey, wanna see something cool!??" never ends up well. 😉

@@FightFast After his training and combat experience, my father ,(whole ship) was lost at sea for three months in the Aleutians during WWII. After being found, he was offered choice of duty station and chose Camp Shoemaker in San Francisco... As a hand to hand instructor for the navy and marines. He showed me this 50yrs ago, along with the same warning (I had several kids decide I was an easy target). It's somehow made a resurgence in the last couple years.

Great move .Simple and fast .I use palm strike for years on my makiwara standing board. Sure don't want no Agg anymore , but its a good idea to have hard palms.

imho it is better to combine a hook or an elbow strike with a backhand hammerfist (or an elbow if distance is short), rather than a palm. It is much more destructive in this combination. Powerful and fast backhand hammerfist to the head is knockout strike.

Rake the eyeballs with a full speed palm heel slap? Impossible. The head won't be there. Basic physics. You EITHER rake the eyes OR slap with your might.

Open palm fighting is truly fast fighting but it can become extremely dangerous fighting with a little twist in technique as I have challenged two hundred and fifty pounders to three hundred pounds men in that I can knock them out with a slap by the way I am only the size like Bruce Lee at 145 pounds people tend to laugh but I will give a demo not of full power but when the slap is felt they know thrown at full mass it surely is devastating the method is to cupped your hands as though drinking water and begin the slap from waist height with knees bend with hip rotation to the person face and the rest is history end of story
