I said to my husband that I wish I would have met him when I was 18 and he replied " you would have been arrested " I'm almost 4 years older than him. Thankfully he's an old soul and we have been together 21 years with 3 kids.

Love this video! I'm a 43yr old single female, who has yearned for a husband and family. I am a Christian, and was raised to be a housewife and helpmate to my future husband. I didn't attend college. However, by my mid-20's, I hadn't met anyone. Coincidentally, I became ill with a chronic illness, and had to have surgery in 2007, and 2009. Suddenly, I realized...what would I do, how would I support myself if I didn't meet my helpmate. So, I put myself through Nursing school, and have cultivated a lucrative career for myself. But, now I am 43, and still single. While I believe in traditional marriage, and traditional gender roles, I do feel strongly that a young woman needs to prepare herself not only for marriage, but for a career should marriage not be God's plan. This is where I think modern society runs-a-muck, in addition to feeding women the idea that women only need themselves to succeed in life. They need to realize that God's plan and his timeing is perfect.

My wife's words to me when signing on to RU-vid "Yes! a new Scott & Kelli video is up!" 😮 We love watching these videos as a couple. Nobody ever sat us down and explained what the actual purpose of dating was when we were young. In modern dating, if you bring up "marriage" early in the relationship, that's seen as a major red flag when in all honesty, that's the entire purpose of the act, or at least it should be. It makes so much sense that for young men, you shouldn't be dating if you aren't in a position to support a wife. If you have the urge to date and aren't ready, use that as motivation to get into the proper position where you can date. It's so great hearing the male and female perspective on these topics. We are recent refugees from normal society and have hope that others can change their views to what seems so obviously right and godly! 😇

This is so good. I talk about this all the time with friends. The church isn’t preparing men and women for marriage enough. Everyone just floats and single ministry has often been for lack of a better term weak. You’re right no one explained the dynamics the just let us all be “friends.”😂They’ve prepared women in other ways but not practical ways which is why I’m now on a Homemaking journey as a 36 year old wife. As long as I’ve been in church when people talk about Proverbs 31 they never mentioned Homemaking. Young men don’t have a lot of older men really teaching them biblical values that apply to marriage. Whether it’s emotional intelligence and dwelling in understanding or Christian men falling into “happy wife, happy life” culture. Feminism. Libertarianism. Sexual Market Value. Real life marital issues. This is sooo counter cultural. Women especially hate this talk 😩 Spot on 👌🏽👏🏽

my husband & I openly REJECT the 'happy wife, happy life' statement when others say it. My husband will retort with, "what about the husband, huh?" others don't like that. Oh, well. Being Catholic, we don't really have like a 'singles ministry' or groups that meet as married people. But I have found that even when my husband & I try to be that for others, all you get is excuses or argument. Even with our own daughter. We have tried to be guidance for what marriage & gender roles should be. She wants the 'idea' of it, but has yoked herself with an unbelieving, untrustworthy, unmotivated, older man with kids from a previous mess of a relationship. Other older adults have tried to reason with her, too. To no avail. We are beside ourselves the longer this relationship carries on. I don't see this man 'shaping up'. My husband has even tried to counsel this man, but again..to no avail.

I love how you talked about how often times it is better for the husband to be older than the wife, as it allows for the husband to be more established. My husband is 7 years older than I am, and i do not regret marrying someone older! He was established when we got married, and it allowed me to go right into being a full-time homemaker as soon as we were married. My husband and I talk often about how the man being older was common in biblical times, as it was expected that men needed to be able to support a household before getting married. I'm 53. I've lived through a massive cultural shift in how women present themselves. It has always been the case that sometimes, very insecure, fearful girls/women would show signs, outwardly, that they didn't want male attention, for a variety of reasons. They would dress in a way to not draw attention to themselves; unconsciously gain weight to hide their bodies, not wear any make-up, be very quiet or alternatively, very aggressive or independent in personality. All to send the message, "not interested. Not ready." What I'm seeing now is that even confident, well adjusted young ladies go around all day in grey/black sweatpants or jeans, dark hoodies, short hair, no make-up, overweight, very, very independent, etc. It's the norm to be more androgynous looking. Maybe, I'm wrong, but, if you want to attract male attention, you need to look like you want male attention. Not in a vain, peacock kind of way, or a sexualized way, but in a "yes, I want a boyfriend, I want a husband, I care about that for my future, I'm open to that." Humans do pick up on nonverbal cues and men are visual and like being needed. Women have to accept that and respond accordingly. If you wear a pretty (but not immodest) outfit, and style your hair, the message is, "I want men to notice me and I'm open to dating and marriage.

@@ScottandKelli you're so welcome.♥️ I have 2 daughters (and a son). Women need to remember that it takes courage for a young man to ask a young woman out. Rejection is HARD on them....and embarrassing! They are going to look for every single, subtle clue that a woman is interested in dating (a man) before even trying to risk the potential rejection. If all appearances point to her saying, "NOOOOOO!", he's going to be more likely to not try. ♥️🇨🇦

WHEW...I stepped in "it" last night at my in laws house! I got involved in a conversation where my adopted MIL was telling how she encouraged someone's niece to go be a lineman for the power co. and she wanted to know my opinion. I said, "absolutely not! I would never encourage a woman to do that." I would never want my daughter to work with a full crew of power company line-MEN. That atmosphere is no where for women (my granddad was a lineman & my husband works for the power co. as a fleet mechanic - I hear all sorts of stories about the 'man' atmosphere at their job). Unless it was a 100% female crew, I would never advocate for that. My MIL is a 'liberated' woman of the 1970s & she didn't like it. I told her that I didn't say that a woman is NOT capable of doing the job, I just didn't think it was a wise choice. We are mixing the genders too much. My FIL agreed with me & my husband who is usually very conservative tried to argue the point that there are quite a few women on the gas line crew. I was surprised by his response. Just because it is going on already doesn't make it right. Women have abandoned other women, & our support system (women helping women) has completly disintegrated, because women are trying too hard to compete with men, including stepping over the top of other women.

Maturity is one thing, but I have two highly responsible, college educated young straight white male children who can't even get an interview since graduation college, much less afford to move out and throw away money on rent! They live at home and are saving every penny in hopes of a house one day, but the discouragement as far as getting anywhere in the world is a heavy burden. They feel things are almost hopeless for them - they're ambitious, and work hard, but just can't find an opportunity, are stuck in their college jobs, and no one will give them an opportunity. Our culture is giving jobs to foreign workers and favoring every gay, woman, or colored person. The discouragement is so heavy.

Scott and Kelli, I appreciate you so much. Thank you for having the courage and integrity to speak truthfully regarding difficult and unpopular subjects. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you as you follow Him. It is interesting that the Bible always defines adultery as a man having relations with another man's wife (both the man and the woman commit the sin). At the same time, the Bible consistently treats polygamy as marriage (and not a sin). This is clearly seen with king David. David's relationship with another man's wife (Bathsheba) is adultery (2nd Samuel 12) and brings death and horror. On the other hand, David's relationship with Michal, Abigail, Ahinoam and a few more is treated as marriage, and is blessed by God. The Bible is ALWAYS consistent in the way it handles this issue. Do a deep dive into Genesis, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, the Proverbs, the Prophets, and even the New Testament (Romans 7:1-3 for example). I''m not arguing that polygamy is advisable. I'm just saying that it is marriage and not adultery or sexual immorality. "...David did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and had not turned aside from anything that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite." (1 Kings 15:5 NKJV) David was a lifelong polygamist with more than ten wives, yet God said that David did what was right and did not turn aside. Some morally upright and financially stable married Christian men would probably consider adding an additional wife if they understood that the God of the Bible regards it as marriage. It goes back to the Creation itself. God gave specific marital roles and functions to the man and the woman. The man is to lead, protect, and provide. It is logically possible to do that for more than one woman. The wife was created as a helper (Genesis 2) She is to submit to, and follow her husband. She can only submit to, and follow one man. Likewise the man can only submit to and follow one Head, the Lord Jesus Christ (while Christ leads, protects, and provides for many followers, 1st Corinthians 11:3). For anyone that is curious, I'd suggest visiting Biblicalfamilies.org

I need to comment on my previous comment.😳. The basics of what I said are pretty much true, and I thought that meant that it is ok for Christian men to seek to have multiple wives. I've thought that for some time, but recently God opened the eyes of my heart to see that I was seriously mistaken. I was wanting multiple wives because I thought they would give me joy, fullness, and happiness. Marriage is wonderful, but will never satisfy the deepest longings of our hearts. Only the Son of God, Jesus Christ Himself will do that. I made an idol of polygamy, and this caused me to grieve my dear wife deeply, breaking her heart. The Law of God in the Bible does indeed treat polygamy as marriage, but it wasn't the original design, and doesn't best reflect the love of Jesus Christ. I don't believe seeking more than one wife is properly fitting for those under the New Covenant, the New Creation in Christ I do not believe the servant of Jesus Christ should seek multiple wives. Instead, he is to fully trust in Jesus Christ, and then cherish his wife as Christ loved the Church and gave His life for her. Thanks be to God for helping me finally see the answer in the Face of Jesus Christ Himself. God is now working to restore the marriage that was damaged by my previous actions. Glory be to God!

Can you describe more of what your really mean when you quote St Paul’s “burning with lust”? I don’t think anyone should enter marriage with the literal vice of lust running rampant in their heart. In marriage there will still be times of self control and there should always be a heart of purity and whole self gift for the other. I don’t think “lust” is that.

Hi! Yes, we should control our sex drive. "But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion." 1 Cor 7:9. Statistically 80% of Christian singles apparently cannot control themselves. They should get married =)

I am wondering what all of y'all reading this would see the role of the relationship between the married couple....vs the children? Not to be offensive, but I have a teenager and my husband and I completely disagree on the handling of our oldest child. Now, my husband is an imperfect man, and I am an imperfect woman, but how to treat an almost grown young man is something that we completely disagree on.... My husband is looking to me and I want to lean on my husband, but the determination on how soft and how hard to be on our oldest... We are at a complete standstill. My sister once told me that I am not capable of stewarding the salvation of my children's souls... But shouldn't I be? What greater role could I have than that?! And what is greater? The right-now outcome or the eventual outcome? I don't know how to facilitate my children in conjugation with my husband's ideas and ideals

Love this message and channel! Christendom needs to renounce the pagan doctrine of monogamy only and embrace Biblical Marriage rather than Traditional (the last 600 years) marriage. Exodus 21:10 If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish. The prophet Nathan told David that God would have given him many more wives if he had only asked. The good men are often taken. But they’re only taken and off the market because the world rejects the truth in God’s word. God never calls it sin for a man to have more than one wife.
