I sincerely wish your channel was at my fingertips during my youth. I resonated with so, so much of this video. I went to a trade school for two years, had a hustle mentality with working multiple jobs, partied away my “prime” years, etc. Fast-forward a few years after I got connected with my local church and learned of my true calling to bring glory to God and I’m now happily married, have three children, and am blessed every single day to be at home raising them while being a homemaker as my career. 🙌🏼

THANK YOU for this validation!! I went to college the fall after graduation because I felt like I didn’t have a choice even though I had no clue what I wanted to do and I didn’t want to be labeled as “dumb” or “lazy”. I met my husband the month before I left for college, made it through one semester of school before we realized that we wanted to get married as soon as possible. Left school as soon as semester ended, got married that next spring, and then found out we were pregnant a couple of months later, all at 19 years old! I’ve always had doubts if this is what I was meant to do. But your channel, the current state of the world, and trusting in the Lord has helped me realize that my purpose is to grow our family, be a homemaker, and help my husband in any way I can! Now 5 years later, our family continues to grow, we’re working on homeschooling, localism, homesteading, and getting out of debt, and I KNOW this was my purpose in life. I thank God for allowing me to find your channel and confirming my identity and my purpose in this world!💗

"Preparing to be a Helpmeet" by Debi Pearl is a great Christian book that outlines so much of what Scott and Kelli are saying here and more. There truly is no other time in your life between your late teen years and marriage where you won't have the responsibility of children where you can do mission work, etc. and learn so many new skills. I highly recommend this book. There is also "Created to BE His Helpmeet" by Debi Pearl for the married ladies. There's one for the guys too. :) Lots of great ideas, all straight from God's Word.

I went to a community college for like 3 weeks, they dropped my program and I never returned after trying to take a moment to figure things out. I ended up working as a caregiver and it made me a good woman with respect for elderly. And I dont have a single penny of student loan debt to my name. Glad I am a Youth leader for the preteens and teens in my church and also pursuing God to lead me where He wants me. My husband is great for me and has supported me through all my health struggles(Infertility). God is so good when we do what he is asking of us. Thanks for sharing this!

My husband has a degree but after graduation he was adamant not to settle down with any woman who had a degree, bound and determined to make a career outside of the home. These women also had too much masculine energy and are just not attractive, just worrying about career advancement, living independently, etc. I was ready to get married at 20 and start being a homemaker.

What about my passions? I want to create and I also want to be successful. Staying at home and focusing on my fiance's career would not make me fulfilled. My goals are not less important than my man's goals. I also have my mission, I also have ambitions. My man supports me, he is my biggest cheerleader. And I'm his. I grew up in a Baptist church. I watched women spending all the parties serving men and men sitting comfortably and enjoying themselves. I watched my friend's mothers talking about things they were going to do before they got married and had to stop. I watched men enjoying their lives when women had to always sit back and taking care of the children, even when we were at the lake having outside parties. I was told that my ambitions are not important and encouraged to stay humble and meek. So I left. Now all of my female friends left the church as well and pursue their passions, career and just live life happily. And no, we are not lonely despite not being homemakers. I'm getting married to my beloved fiance, most of my friends are already married. Also, we have each other.

I think once people become one in Marriage than the ideas of what each person does do need to change. I haven't seen anywhere in the word where it say woman don't study ,but husband continues. No the Bible says both must make sacrifices for the family it self. Whatever that might look like in ya family life.

Yes! I wasted so much time on college. Went prior to my husband & I having children then online courses during the first couple years of our oldest 2 daughters lives, I graduated. When it came time to fill out applications, I felt a huge tug. I couldn't do it. Praise God, He confirmed I was to be a stay at home mom. I am so thankful for The Almighty to intervene in my life. It wasn't always easy...we were so strapped those first few years and had to get creative. We now have 3 daughters 12, 11, and 6, who are getting the first hand lessons of homesteading, homemaking and being a help meet. All Glory to our Father! Great video! I love that you aren't afraid to make content that opposes the cultural norms!

I actually loved college and believe God led me there. I have always LOVED learning and got the opportunity to study and prepare to be a missionary. I got to study the Bible, culture, literature, foreign language, and teaching. I got to prepare to be a missionary and a teacher, which is my passion. I got to learn so much, meet missionaries from all over the world, and grow as a minister and a teacher! Also, the Bible teaches not only that marriage is good, but also that singleness is good, even better (1 Cor 7). Out ultimate purpose is to follow God and glorify Him in whatever we do, whether as a wife and homemaker or a teacher, doctor, businesswoman, or missionary. Every person is different- with different gifts.

I really don't appreciate you telling readers what they think and what experiences they will have. It is up to each person or couple to decide that for themselves. Many families are happy with two income parents and the children don't suffer at all. I grew up in a complementarian home and suffered hugely. What happens if you lost Scott? I hope you have a healthy life insurance policy as you won't be capable of looking after yourself.

About Going to college to be a nurse or even a doctor, I think those are great options for women that really aspire to be one of those. If she is truly pursuing God and not getting caught up in culture, and is in school for nursing, I think that’s ok. I have a friend that only went to nursing school for two years and is now pregnant and she and her husband are happily married.

one important consideration is that of finances. Will you go into debt for going to school. If you will not (for whatever reason) then it is at least more tolerable, but if your parents expect and encourage you to go into debt for University (for whatever reason), that will burden you and make you less desirable to a man because your financial bondage. Surely there are ways you can have a job, volunteer, pursue something entrepreneurial, or develop personal skills in the interim before you meet you future husband, Deo Volente, such that improve your standing, your person, your morals, and do not saddle you financially with debt. God bless.

Although I understand many of your points and see nothing wrong with having a loving marriage with traditional roles. There is absolutely nothing wrong with girls going to college and having a passion outside of the home and having a career. You can still be a loving wife and have a career. I know in the US it’s almost like a trade off, you either have a career or you are a mother. Many EU countries it’s okay to have maternity leave sometimes even for more than 2 years, or even putting the career on hold and going back in part time when your kids start going to school. I think you both are really happy with your lifestyle and kind of translate that lifestyle to all people, but it’s incredibly naive and also ignorant to take your own personal experiences onto everyone. Many women have been highly successful both in the home sphere and professional sphere at once, I know you touch on that possibility but in a very directed small way. Many women are not happy in just being mothers and wives. They want to have careers but can also be wives and mothers at the same time. You talk about praying for your husband, that’s all great when your husband is a good and kind and responsible human being. Many times that isn’t the case, the husband is not responsible and no amount of praying and submission will get him there, he may be abusive to the wife and the children even though he comes from a good home. In these cases it’s best for women to have some kind of profession or skill to be able to leave that marriage and be able to support her children as a mother does and be able to remove herself but most importantly her children from an abusive home life. I find your view on things very one sided and very narrow minded, and I don’t think that even Jesus would be so black and white with it. Those are my 2 cents

This is good advice, but I would say it doesn't necessarily work in every situation. I didn't have the option of living with my parents, as you suggest, which put me to working a minimum wage job trying to cover rent, etc. This was hard, even though God blessed me during that time. I wished that I had some sort of training to fall back on to earn more money, because I didn't meet my husband until my late 20's. I will encourage my daughter to get some sort of training "to fall back on", because there aren't many young people getting married right out of high school. That doesn't mean lots of debt at a 4 year college, but something to make more than minimum wage.

I love so much that you guys did this video to give these teenagers and young adults this message! ❤️. You actually also spoke to my current day situation and heart as well! I am 50 now and my kids are almost raised. I truly wish I could have heard this message when I was a teenager. I too wanted to be a mom and wife. I ended up going to college when my kids were small because I thought that I need to, to help provide for my family. I did not have Jesus in my life then. I accepted Jesus into my life 7 years ago and now I see many things differently. In retrospect I can see how terrible it was for my kids, how a stressful job in the medical field tanked my health with many issues, I ultimately got Lyme disease, which is now chronic. Praise God though!! He has given me knowledge for natural healing!! I just need to be able to have the courage to leave my stressful job to allow the healing to take place. People do not realize how toxic stress is to your mental and physical health. There is so much truth in everything you both said!! There is no greater gift that you can give your kids than to stay home and raise your children. Thank you so much for being willing to be that much needed voice!!!!!

@BabeDmoney

Agree to some of your views but some is debatable. We are design to help the husband no lies there but I truly believe that every man has a certain helpmeet that is design for just for him. Example you share alot of interesting views as your husband. Great, but the next woman might need to help her husband in whatever he is doing. Example if he is a mechanic she could be educated about auto etc. Don't limit people education as if the the traits the lord blessed us with doesn't extend pass the home. You never know when or if you will get married. I don't agree with saying have babies right off the bat. Kids are more work than a little and ppd is real ( let that desire fall on to them not just say go have babies). There is nothing wrong with having a little more education than a high school diploma. Actually trying school helped me realize what my compassion to help the youth through child development classes . I actually knew my child had a problem with speech before the doctors believed it because I went to school and study!! & still married. The family workeding together is the best solution.

I find it interesting that you say you lost more femininity at the Christian university than at the secular one. It would seem that the issue is obviously more than just secular influence of opinion, but moreso the overall logistical environment (demands, expectations, etc) which isn’t conducive to really being able to flourish as a true woman. Non of the job options you give are well paying or have medical insurance. Part of being a good citizen is not to be a burden on society. Just saying

What is being a good citizen and why is that of primary importance? I find it interest you take issue with a woman hypothetically not putting 'the state' (of whom she is a citizen) first? Should it not be the case that a woman but her family (either parental or marriage) first?

You make the Taliban look easy At least with the Taliban it's about getting things together for modesty, and that is for both men and women In the Quran it says " men and women seek knowledge " The highest rate of women in STEM are from the middle east , Pakistan has a high rate of women in Computer Science , they are business women , they work and this doesn't ruin their ' femininity' I'm an Accountant and so is my husband, I mean this is so weird I'm not against stay at home moms at all, but all this about masculine and feminine is so narrow minded

truth is narrow minded. There is no relatively: there is either true or false, good or bad. If your epistemology is not based in the Bible then naturally you will not have the same truth values as those who do. But don't call it weird, the rationale is there, it is essentially "thus saith the LORD", if you do not share that same presupposition then of course you will disagree with the conclusions derived from that. Call the presupposition, the root of the belief weird, not the leaf. My previous statement is my main and most important point, but in addition to that I would like to say that you really should consider the idea that work and university culture has the ability to masculinize women (and feminize men). The way men and women (psychologically and biologically speaking) handle stress, time, work partnerships, etc. is truly different and modern Corporate culture really does change how women think, act, and be. Women necessarily have to subsume their instincts towards being a mother, and even if you see that as a virtue, you have to admit that it does/has change(d) you. And if that has changed, how much more? And for what end? Anyway, I wish you well Amanda. My wife graduated with an Accounting degree and she is currently living a happy life as a homemaker and does tax volunteering and thinks that is good intellectual stimulation while also allowing her to prioritize family above 'career'. God bless you.

@@alephnaught8343 My Mom raised four kids and working never ruined her ability to be a mother. Everyone is an individual handles stress differently, people are individuals not gender clones, women are not all the same. There are men that get stressed out and can't handle it and women that get through the toughest times because of individual differences. My husband and I now have our own business after working for someone else, this is the way accounting works. Women are over protected within some Christian circles, not allowed to experience life or toughing it. The women go from home to their husband , babied and protected from life. There is nothing anti Christian about women working , plus the students don't automatically sin at college , some of us were only interested in studying. And what about broken hearts of young men ? There were many young men who had horrible relationships in college , it's not only girls , in fact some girls are not so innocent or naive. I went to SJSU years ago before this woke craziness, we had mainly accounting classes and not brainwashed. Some people are never brainwashed we have our values too strong for college to change them. Work is just work not masculine or feminine,

This is a bunch of judgmental junk. Why are you lumping everyone together? Not everyone has the same calling. Why would I worry about my debt when God called me to college? Have you never read when Jesus said that no one can accept this except the one to whom it is called? My worth and identity are neither in college nor not college, married or not married, mother or not a mother; my identity is in Christ! For me, God led me to let go of the very things you are telling me to hold onto (marriage, motherhood), because He had other plans for my life, and those plans very clearly started with college.

If you are the exception you do not need to tell people that you are the exception. If you are called by God, you do not need to justify yourself to man. Have compassion for the majority of girls who were not called to college, who were not called to singleness but were pressured into exchanging their smv & fertility on the lie that they could have it later. Instead of being angry at the liars, many older ladies pressure the younger girls to take the same bad deal as they did, to ensure that they are not the only ones who got duped. Pure Evil.

Galatians 5:24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Mark 10:43-45 Jesus stated, “Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave (servant) of all. For even the Son of Man (Jesus) did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Jesus had an unselfish mindset, as he taught his disciples to follow his ways and prepared them for the Coming Kingdom of God. One definition for being a faithful servant, according to the Bible, is to be a devoted and helpful follower, to be humble before God, to be ready to act as God nudges and inspires us, to help meet the needs of other people, and to remember that it is not about money or reward. I leave you with these words, found in 1 Peter 4:10-11: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. “If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.” It's not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less. The true gospel Jesus preached Mark1:14-15
