Little known fact, did you know these are actually paper maché puppets that dunkey made. This game doesn’t even exist it’s just dunkeys little puppet show.
This video doesn't exist either. It's actually a figment of your imagination. You've been in a coma for 14 years. Wake up, son. I can't take it anymore.
This is the comment I was looking for. I loved that scene. I just got red dead redemption 2 and finished the first game, so I was so glad I understood that reference. The way dunkey said it though is genuinely sad and made my heart twinge😭
Dredgen Shinobi Even moreso when his ghost appears before Mario, then when he gets Olivia back, she asks why you're staring at a pile of rubble, implying that Bobby's ghost was all in Mario's head.
@@julianmarx2002 very, and it really catches you off guard, since people generally wouldn’t expect to see such a loved character to just die in a Mario game
Now to be fair: Bob-oms are well... bombs. Bombs explode. In the other games they are generic enemies that blow up and you never feel bad for them. If you look at it pragmatically it really isn't anything special and I think children would just see this first layer. Now for adults, the fact that they gave this bob-om freaking characterisation and dialogue makes this all kinds of fucked up. He basically suicide bombed himself because of a rock in the road. This kinda puts an existential conundrum on all life in the Paper Mario universe and makes you ask inconvenient questions about life's worth. Thanks Nintendo.
Yeah Bobby dies, then Olivia has a breakdown over his death and then his ghost tells Mario to cheer her up and get her to move on... in a Mario game. Thanks Sakurai.
This is why you gotta hire a real professional like Gex to perform in your video games. Paper Mario couldn't act his way out of a paper bag, he just stands there silently when the Bob-omb sacrifices himself to blow up the boulder. Gex would've been quipping about how he hasn't seen blasts like that since taco night at James Earl Jones's house
@@Jkev24 I enjoyed the Super Paper Mario style gameplay sections, but the actual combat got tedious very quickly, especially since the reward is just coins. So many coins.
I really liked the puzzle gameplay of the battle system but I do think that the attacks needed balancing and fleshing out, I probably missed a few attacks from enemies because I just demolished them, and I didn’t care about coins or what I get from it but yeah, it quickly became tedious. Eitherway I really enjoyed the game, and it was worth the money IMO.
But in the end Bomb Bomb is an extremely well developed character and is honestly more human than the main protagonist at the end even if fans disagree with the controversial decisions regarding BOMB BOMB’S role in the overall story.
Phantom Krieger people will hate you for that comment. How could you side with a strong woman? How could you betray us gamers. All i wanted is a buddy adventure with my good guy dadbod Joellerino.
@@AlphaCarinae ah yes, actors should be sent death threats for taking a job that they have no idea is gonna be good or not. What a balanced and fair opinion
Yeah, it's funny that he hardly showed the crappy combat system in the game which just happens to be the majority of complaints against it. Strange how that works...
@@gryffehondor4236 I hate how in every logical sense, your comment should THEORETICALLY be a joke. Like to a person who hasn't even seen this fucking game before, in any way they could see that as "oh yeah, haha thats pretty good dark humor man nintendo would never shoot that kind of shot" but
Last time someone died in a Mario game was actually in super Mario sunshine when Mario was infact given a rocket launcher with a flamethrower attached to it
Actually didn’t think a mario game had that dark of humor, 6:50 “WHA- WHAT THE FUCK?!?! HE DIES?!?! THE BOB-OMB DIES?!?! IN MARIO?!?! WHO THE FUCK MAKES THIS GAME?!?!” 💀🤣
I'm still mad that dunkey spoiled the most emotional moment in the game, HOW ABOUT A WARNING NEXT TIME HUH?!? I REALLY WANTED TO EXPERIENCE BOB-OMB'S DEATH ON MY OWN DUDE
It’s almost like the writers of paper mario The origami king are trying to tell a unique and heartwarming story. Bobby died because the bombs in this game are mass produced and designed to kill.
J Webster That’s actually a great explanation of why some Bob-Ombs explode and die and are nameless and all that, whereas others have more life to them and can survive.
"should the mushroom kingdom be unfolded and refolded to glory?" Me: no turn the kingdom back “Should the toads be silenced for all eternity?” Me: ... ok I admit you have a point there
I go back and rewatch a lot of dunkey videos, but this has got to be one of my favorite ones ever. Dunkey knows how to do comedy quite well, but in this case he allows the comedy of the game to come out as well, which blends together to make it absolutely a charm to watch. Yes, I am aware this is wayy too in-depth of a viewpoint for a fucking youtube video about a game, but I really like this video
