How I've gotten every log for my sawmill. The first load of logs paid for every component in this video, except for the truck and trailer obviously. Watch the log bounce off of the tires! This is how they loaded logs during the deforestation of the great eastern forests.

That only way I've ever loaded a log on wagon. We used tractor to wench it though an chain looped under trailer was a lot longer. Built two houses an a barn loading the same way. Never had a tractor with a grapel on it. Have used mules to roll one out of creek where stump in rolled off in creek when cut butt end big red oak that measured 42 inches. Two mules had no problem had two pulleys to lighten load. Worked great a lot of rigging.

Harold, I couldn't agree more. I have welded a log arch that is heavy duty, but rarely use it. It's a lot slower to load a log and harder on my winch. Don't have a grapple, but I do have a boom on my tractor that I use to load loss on the mill. So much faster than wincing them on the deck.

Do you have a video on how you get that huge log off your trailer when you are ready for that?

Not sure but this video of red oak is much larger 28” diameter - Milling a huge Red Oak. Absolutely beautiful quarter-sawn grain!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CEonIZSKw3w.html
