Would love to see an update on this pair of boots. I Just put an order in a week or 2 ago with nicks in natural dublin! Cant wait to smell them in person.😂
I got a pair of these, same leather and everything simply by shear accident on ebay. Now, I am nervous about wearing them for anything but casual or even Church shoes. For the ridiculously great price I go them for, I shouldn't have any fear of wearing them for work even, but I don't want to make them ugly. Does anyone have any thoughts on wearing these for moderately light work? I do housing maintenance. They seem thick enough and well built to withstand quite a bit.
Just ordered this exact boot the other day and can't wait to get them in! As this is my first pair of decent boots, I'm not quite sure what to expect with the Dublin leather. How are these holding up for you and how is the leather managing? I'm wondering how easily the leather scuffs and how the creases develop over time. Great video by the way!
they are holding up wonderfully ! I wore them in the soaking rain the other day and if anything the moisture cleaned them up and made them look even newer than before!! wear them hard!
@@davel2734 I did, and they're pretty sweet! I will say that the Dublin leather creases almost immediately and very easily, so be aware of that. The leather is beautiful though, nice and thick and smells amazing. I'm really looking forward to how these boots will age over time. No doubt these will last a good long while as well.
Nice review and a great looking boot. Can you explain a little more about how/why you mentioned not needing to see boots in-person as much going forward as opposed to looking at photos online? I have great respect for your knowledge and skills, but that still seems essential for a proper review to me. Open to your thoughts, thanks!
great question! I guess it's similar to how gun geeks, after amassing a collection of 100-200 firearms, just develop an acumen for how a gun from another brand will feel and handle based on photos without needing to do it in person.
Beautiful boots. How does the new last compare to their original last? Bought a pair a few years ago TTS, now says you have to size down .5 so not sure. Yes dublin smells so good, it's like walking into a leather goods store.
the new last is in many ways the same thing as the old last!! andrew describes it in fuller detail in the recent video i did with him! yeah in many cases going down a 1/2 size is recommended. i can tell you they are some of my smaller fitting boots in 8.5 (i'm 9 TTS) but the fit is perfect with thin to medium weight socks
@@DalesLeatherworks I am enjoying your video content, most people don’t get the whole boot thing that when you rock some fab boots it just makes you feel so good! Here are few ideas! Alpha M on RU-vid gives some amazing clothing basics for wardrobe outfits that you could incorporate and use, from tops v necks, T-shirts, shirts, smart shirts, bomber jacket, smart jacket blazers, and leather jackets matching up with different style boots to suit different occasions. From smart wear, casual, semi smart to biker! Just a thought 💭
Both are phenomenal choices! Both use different shaped lasts but more or less the same quality materials for the uppers so you really just have to ask yourself what last shape you want more
I do like dublin leather for wallets, but for boots I think the grain break is too course and the leather isn't flexible enough to be an ideal boot leather
dublin is really good for wallets you're right! i have really enjoyed it in boots too, i think so long as the shoemaker selects the correct weight and temper it works out fine
The tannage is the same but the quality, thickness, cuts and finishing is different. Insanely inaccurate. My chromexcel vibergs and Wolverines are night and day. Tanned the same from the same factory sure, but companies treat them differently.
