Telomeres are the little caps at the end of our chromosomes that they think are what lead to us aging as they unravel. They tell the story of our existence - from birth to death.

Descending is a low-key favourite

The transition from Missing Limbs to Chokehold is so clean that I usually don't notice I'm already on the next album. 🤌🤌🤌 So good.

Lots of people suggesting Jaws their covers are right but I don't think their live cover of Hallelujah can be skipped, they've only done it once and I think its a must watch as somebody obsessed with Vesels Vocals.

Last thing, because the end of Missing Limbs confuses the hell out of people. To me it sounds like a UK ambulance distorted through water, and it gets closer as he's pulled toward the surface. There's speculation that they were in a bad car crash (possibly into the Atlantic Ocean). If you've ever seen Over the Garden Wall, this album feels like that for me - an event that begins the story and the rest of it is them working through their problems while in limbo between life and death. I also have suspicions they lost a child during the accident, which is why Atlantic says "crumble like a temple built from future daughters." Accompanies the "you'll never bear the weight of two."

Jaws, The Way That You Were and the Hey Ya and Is It Really You covers are the last ST songs you've not heard!

Definitely need to listen to "Jaws", "The Way That You Were", "Is It Really You?" (Cover) and "Hey Ya" (Cover) This are songs that aren't in any album. Maybe you can do a video reacting to them at once 😅

Amongst all of the other recommendations you have already been given, From the Room Below at the LaFayette in 2022 is a live show of just Vessel playing piano & guitar, plus his backup singers. There are several fan videos of the individual songs on YT, and The Metal Kitty has compiled the full ritual in 2 videos. It includes the cover of Hallelujah. IMO, a couple of the songs, including Missing Limbs, are even more beautiful on this stage than on the record.

You do your reactions right! Totally love your care and consideration of the music to comment ratio. So I’ve been on Sleep Token for a year straight. I’m always finding hidden nuances in the music as well as understanding the story arch. I realized the other day that this trilogy is more than meets the eye. Let me explain. So Sundowning is inspired by the sky/ heavens ie: levitate, gods, night does not belong to god, dark signs with many references lyrically to the sky or heavens. This place will become your tomb is inspired by water/ ocean ie: Atlantic, descending, high water, Alkaline,telomeres many references to water, harbor, submerged. Finally you have TMBTE that is inspired by land/ Eden ie: granite, Aqua Regia (Gold element) take me back to Eden, Euclid with references to elements,stone, paths, and highways. My point, when you combine the 3 albums it makes Earth our home. 🤯 this band is pure genius and have completely captivated those who are lucky enough to experience them. Can’t wait for you to hear them live. I saw them last October and it was the concert of my life! Worship 💙

The way I view the end of the album is that hopefulness of a budding relationship, the longing and the desire, only to be met with indifference from the other. Descending is the frustration, Telomeres is the hope, High Water is the attempt to accept that she will never reciprocate his love only to fail ("I can't hold myself together"), and finally Missing Limbs is the lamentation of that rejection (and possibly that she has another, given the "it still makes my blood run thin to remember what you are to him" line).

This album is my favorite of all time. The back half of this album is in my opinion the best group of songs ever, bar none

Descending is my favorite here theres something about that song that puts me in like a trance state 😂 i just space out and vibe lol

"You are still a perfect reminder of what All of these scars on my arms are for" It may just be a coincidence, but Vessel does appear to have 3 horizontal scars on his left forearm! "And you'll never bear the weight of two" Could mean either being his support or as you said never bear a child. Could tie into the lyric in Atlantic about "future daughters"! thank you for your reaction to this album❤ as i wrote under the previous videos, this album really has a special place in my heart. Vessel knows what he's doing. Sleep Token has a few more singles, and I highly recommend listening to them: "Jaws", "Is It Really You?" (cover), "Hey Ya" (cover) and "The Way That You Were".

I have watched all your ST reactions so far and have enjoyed every one immensely. Having Sundowning taken down is a massive shame as it, along with the others is a great watch. Re-living my own original emotions/reaction to their songs through someone else's experience is honestly addictive as hell and as I continue to chase the ST reaction dragon as it were, I rate yours right up there. I'm curious if you're going to do all the other "offerings" from II as you did The Summoning, I'm of course referring too Hypnosis and Alkaline as well as the masterclass he did on Drumeo itself? What I found particularly awesome about these, is that as his vocab on the kit increased over the years the way he plays all the songs across the offerings, differs massively when compared to the recorded tracks on the albums. Would be awesome to see you lose your shit over those as well, lol.

I adore this band, there's not a single Song I don't love. But for some reason, "High Water" gets me like no other.

Love your reactions to Sleep Token! I really appreciate that you go through song by song and look into the lyrics and meaning! With High Water, I do find it interesting that people have taken the lyrics "I know you still bear the weight of your own existence and you'll never bear the weight of two" as a meaning of unable to bear children. When I initially listened to those lyrics, I took it as meaning the object of the song is dealing with their own issues, mental health, and demons and isn't able to take on or be present for another person, and that being the reason why the relationship between the narrator and the other person won't work. Nevertheless, I love seeing and hearing how others interpret lyrics and you do beautifully! Keep doing what you're doing! ❤

Another great reaction Ashlena 👍 I've been following ST pretty much from when they first started and a fun fact: Distraction, High Water, Teleomeres and Descending have never been played live (well not to my knowledge at least and I've watched a fair few ST gigs here in the UK) Same with Gods, Are you really okay, The Apparition and Euclid. Such a damm shame, as these tracks are absolute BANGERS. I'm praying they include some of these in their upcoming tour. I would LOVE to hear these live!!! ❤❤❤

Unfortunately the scars on his arms are not tattoos. Along with the possible self deletion attempt alluded to in Atlantic, Vessel has some quite serious inner demons he's been battling for a long time. As gorgeous as the music on Tomb is, I hope for Vessel, the human behind the mask, that we never hear another album like it. At least lyrically. It's pure pain.

You definitely need to listen to "Jaws". It's one of my favorites. It's so good. It actually had to grow on me. I look back now and I'm like...why did I not 100% love it from day 1? The answer is...Vessel is such a genius, it must have gone right over my head the first couple of times. LOL. Also, The videos for "Fall for Me" and "Alkaline" are amazing. You should watch those even if you watch them on your own. ❤

I always feel this is a one way relationship and "I know you bear the weight of your on existence but you'll never bear the weight of two" refers to that in a relationship we must bear the weight of each other in a selfish toxic relationship one is only capable of caring about themselves while the other is buried by carrying the weight of two.

The freaking hold Sleep Token has on my soul is unbearable. I don't want anything else, and it is ok. The versatility of Vessel's vocal range, instrument mastery, post-production mastery, lyrical genius, and compositional style are just UNMATCHED.

My favorite sleep token album. There is not a song i will skip...Ive said it before it's their Empire Strikes Back...and the last four songs are absolutely perfect. With High Water/Atlantic/Telomeres being my favorites on the album.

I have been in a sleep token haze for 5 years and a Ren haze for the last year.

Telomeres reminds me of the Deftones song Sextape. That's always been one of my favorite Deftones songs so I fell in love with Telomeres on first listen. I know II mentioned he was influenced by Abe Cunningham so it feels like a safe assumption Vessel was influenced by Deftones too. Would love to know if they were referencing Sextape at all with this song.

Tbh, I always skip missing limbs. It’s a fine song, but High Water is the real sign off. Missing Limbs sounds like a bonus track, to me. Initially, I was not sure about Vessel’s voice. I love R&B and soul, so it wasn’t the voice itself, but in context with the music. So I went to the instrumental of this album and when I heard High Water and Alkaline as instrumentals, I was 100% sold. This is not a request or suggestion for the channel, but Chelsea Wolfe just released an album and it’s dark, moody, and she’s got a killer voice.

They actually just signed to RCA which is part of Sony.
