I think the other simian kids avoid him because they are afraid of his mother, either by social status or from earlier encounters with the protective mom. Great video, adorable Damien.

At the very beginning, when you commented that even the old monkeys came out of the forest, I believe that was our Nellie being groomed! Look at her eyes. They are distinctive.
He seems to be starving. Does mom have milk? He is frantically grasping at ANYTHING & shoving it into his mouth, poor little guy.As far as the trolls in this section, I truly hope I never get that desperate for attention that I hide in my room & say ugly things on the internet. Anyone can get upset if the mother won't try to nourish their young. I do get upset when I see this with those long-tail monkeys that seem to have little regard for their newborn babies. That can upset anyone and I'm not a troll and love to see mothers with their babies and being affectionate. Even the opposite of what I saw from Toby with his mom when he got a ration of food and race across to deliver the food to his mother? How's that for an incredible bond he's got with his mom? Thanks to Arroz Marisco that capture that in one of his videos. Thank you for showing the incredible affectionate toward each other. Not many would do this but Toby is a unique son.

sissyfist it takes a special kind of weirdo to indulge your hatred/inexplicable sexual curiosity towards these animals and allow your mind to form a fantasy about a baby monkey getting abused and apply enough anthropomorphic qualities to them to where the mother monkey has enough awareness to actually pimp their child out. And then feel strongly enough about your made up reality that you feel no shame about it and choose to post your fantasy in a comment. It’s absolutely fascinating. I wish I could do a study on you. 😂
It's could be a little balance problem, just wondering if he has an inter-ear infection.and maybe it will heel. Or he could just still be to little to have good balance
I am wondering, in light of bat-ears and Damian, are there any other babies with apparent disabilities? Could there be an effect from the fallout of the nuculear power plant disaster during the tsunami? I don't know if that area was affected by the fallout or not, but just curious. This is about the time it would show up in living things, plants, frogs, monkeys, humans, etc.
These monkeys look so much cleaner and fuller than the other monkeys. You know the ones the Amari group ect. Not only that their fur/hair is thicker and it doesn't look like their hair is pulled out off the top of their heards.
Cleaner yes possibly due to up keep of their home/environment plus their hair is so much smoother giving it somewhat cleaner appearance. They look fuller? As in their weight? I do not understand that one because most those monkeys over there are over weight and down right obese from all the junk food handout from VO's and tourists to the point a lot of em rarely forage that much. Its a shame once Amari and Lori went to Sanctuary and couple of others from the troop died around same time they became a rag tag band of misfits and the only reason they still are around or why I will call it a troop is due to the Alpha Males that have run Amari Troop are no joke true warriors.
He is climbing on the railings very nicely. I am trying to remember whether this baby was coordinated but shunned or also uncoordinated like the other baby.

I don't know how these monkeys sevive with such little food! They hang around on the payment eating God knows what small peebles I guess instead of going into the forest where I am sure there is an abundance of vegetation fruit!
I think he just likes hanging on and hanging with his legs down, he grabs on just fine when he wants to. As far as no one wanting to play with him or associate with him, he could possibly be extremely low ranking and the monks he's wanting to play with are to good for him because their social standing is higher, or he's a high ranking monk and the others are fearful of the mother. I see nothing unusual here at all. After all he's a new baby walking on an uneven ground that slopes. He climbed the railing just fine....

I think he's just being silly. I think he likes letting his feet go when he's hanging onto mom because it's fun for him. As far as the kids backing away from him, there's 3 possible reasons. 1.) he is low ranking. 2.) he is high ranking. 3.) it's time to forage, not to be silly. He's a cute lil guy. He will be okay.

Where we work they have this breed for gamma radiation esposure experiments to determine the sublethal and lethal exposure rates. They use this cobalt 60 beam. Its a horrible sight but its the only job in the community that pays the bills
Is this the same Rambunctious Baby you have posted? Even that one is having same ears and is not holding mum with hind legs many a times. When did you shoot the two videos? Hope they are same and the baby is doing fine.
This is Damien, a fearsome high ranking mum's boy. Imply is the little fearless rascal whose mum is also high in the hierarchy belongs to another troop. they are two separate entities.

That's when I first started out following a troop and I assumed at that time he was also part of the troop now known as Bossy's but I was wrong they were all passers-by and since I hadn't met him for a long time I think it would be very difficult for me to recognise him nowadays.

No need to be rude about it...everyone else seems to be OK with it...can you imagine how difficult it is to keep up with these animals as well as make sure none are about to bite you on the ass?! He is a great photographer and I myself appreciate him sharing the videos that are do time consuming to make, edit and upload!
Damien was only caught on video once and that was it. I don't believe he belongs to Bossy's troop they were only passers-by, never to be seen again since.
+ Gina Powell Not Rhesus! They're stump tails related to snow monkeys. They've got MUCH thicker coats than rhesus, and their furry behinds is the giveaway.. and someone as informed as you should certainly have noticed that..
I have to disagree with this little pairs' ranking in this troop. High ranking females stay all tucked together with the oldest Mama, to her daughters, and their daughters, and all take care of any newborn. This baby is shunned by ALL. He is so low ranking they won't even tolerate him in their vicinity. High ranking ranking females stay in packs as they wander unless they are in estrous. Then that young lady will go off with any man she deems suitable, from within or outside her group. If she has an offspring not with the lead male, that baby also will be shunned.
Well I think little Damien is absolutely adorable. Unless his mom is high in the hierarchy I would have no idea why the others won't play with him! He will figure his way thru this!! 🐒

One thing I’ve noticed in these comments on hundreds of videos is that you don’t like people having their own opinion. You think everyone should look at the video and then post some sugary comment. If somebody makes a comment that you don’t like you wish death upon them. That’s so very Christian of you.its a free World so let’s them have their comment and if you don’t like it just remain quiet.
