This has been sometime back but my thought is maybe he wasn't as afraid to come down that tree as much as he just wanted his Mom to come to see about him. I remember doing things like this as a child to get my Mother's attention.
I've always said Arroz is a special kind of patient person. Where I could have gotten a stick chased the assholes away, he keeps on filming. When they feed them foods that are packaged, he just picks up a bit. He does more than his share for over 6 years now. Actually I don't know how long before this he started filming them. But it's been almost 6 years since this one was filmed. He says it wouldn't do any good as they're mostly old and wrinkly tourists from Mainland China. Personally, when someone's being an asshole, it's my responsibility to correct them for their bad behavior. I'm no big nor tough guy mind you, people must assume I'm crazy because I've never had any resistance when confronting people for being assholes.

It’s sad how they fight so much among each other and with other groups sometimes resulting in lots of injuries and lost of limbs and such. I pray that you have found your mom
The visitors are from China, a place where they allow the buying of baby monkeys like these and even have breeding companies making money off of the breeding and then ripping away of a baby from it's Mother to someone who pays a few grand. There are some videos on Chinese video sharing sites and I noticed along with the abuse and forcing Monkys to wear clothing and act like a baby, some of the owners of the pets are children who's parents don't pay mind to. As if they got a gold fish. When they hit puberty they get shock collars or put in cages out on the balconies as they live in tiny apartments. One of these spoiled people, a very popular uploader, got yet another Monkey after her first outgrew the baby stage (shock collar on) and newborn girl, just taken from it's Mother and put it in the middle of the room on hardwood floors, had the older Monkey let loose. He picked up the newborn like it was a doll and the infant's head kept being bashed into the hardwood floor as he ran around and jumping. Or he would jump on top of the baby from across the room. Not one time did she stop it, she laughed or kept yabbering on, she NEVER shuts up. How the baby dealt with her none stop talking on top of the abuse I'll never know. There are so many videos like this. They are pulled around by their hands or made to perform on the street but one baby climbed up a plant holder and she just wanted to touch the dirt and the green. Like she was pulled to it, but would get hit. She crawled to a bag of bananas and wanted one so bad but got punished for it. Instead made to eat a package of cookies. And just for kicks she would constantly take one of the only comforts the baby had, it's pacifier and throw it or remove it. The baby constantly turned her back to the teen/woman. Just wanted to be left alone, there was never any love shown. No kindness. Nothing. So I don't expect anyone from China to have respect for Monkeys unless they show it first but I guess that could be said about anyone on the planet. It's harder and harder to find those who respect animals at all and we are failing as humans.
I saw some of them videos your talking about,it horrible some of them i couldn't watch the whole thing,so very sad how these beautiful creatures are abused.
This baby has wounds on the head and also on the inside of his left hand. He kept licking and sucking on it but I noticed it's pretty big. I wonder if there was a battle previously and while they made it, it made being alone more frightening to him.

Will only monkey does get abuse and cruel is the little monkey from the mom monkey because I see very videos about at. Sometime these people can not leave them alone.
I've been meaning to comment on your vids for many moons now as I've been watching them since you aired your vid about the little injured macaque (I call him "lil mac" cuz he's as tough as the NES Mike Tyson Punch Out variety.) Your vids are awesome and shot incredibly well, but I want to take the time to thank you for your commentary during the vids. it adds a glimpse of what the photographer has going on in his/her mind. Also, I hope someone jumped down the throats of those asshats from China. Despite boxing for the army, being a Ranger and wrestling from first grade through senior year in college, I detest violence... unless someone disrespects others' rights like that and ruin everyone's fun. That's unacceptable and I'd have to make an example of someone over that BS. I'd just embarrass the Hell out of them. Meh, sry for the book, man. Such ignorance from humans, deliberately frightening the monkeys. Adult Male encouraging youngsters to join in the disturbance should be ashamed of himself. The monkeys are way more intelligent than he is.
Poor thing, he can't help that his temperament is what it is. Who knows, he may have been born nervous or could have been previously taken by one of the nasty baby steeling SOBS. That alone would cause a lifelong case of the nerves.
