This one really hits cause i went down the white nationalist pipeline on facebook and was a borderline neo nazi for a few of my teen years and im glad i was able to worm myself out of that cause holy shit I was in with the 4chan migrators, round 2016 a shitload of people from 4chan started flooding facebook and i got looped in all that being a 4chan user before a facebook user. Very glad i grew up...

It amazes me that I managed to miss so many of these stories but there are so many. I think we really need to reckon with the fact that web 2.0 wasn't a natural progress but a formation of flashy online clubs with a truly horrifying degree of control over our information.
