Pastiliere is a French fig that is medium size with very dark pulp, intense berry flavor, and moderately to very sweet. Very delicious common fig (not requiring caprification) that should not be confused with Unknown Pastiliere.
37% french congrats :-) , my Pastillere is from Baud, very good, one thing to note is that as can be seen in your video when well ripe the inner side of the skin is red. Apparently it's also known as "Hirta du Japon" i.e. it's not french it was imported (back ?) from Japan: fig ancestry seems as complex as human ones !
@@Figaholics I did DNA testing with 23andme and myHeritage and I can trace back my genealogical tree for 300 years. I’m German from the Balkans and they can’t really differentiate genetics between France and Germany, because of the common history of both nations (Frankish Empire). So I hit French & German with locations in France and in Germany. I think you mentioned the other day that your background is half Portuguese half German. So most likely the 37% will be “German” genes. I’m only 75% French & German and 25% Italian. But I can’t find any Italian names in my genealogical tree...

I have an electronic bird scaring device in my orchard with speakers, sounds of birds in distress as well as raptors. I still get birds in my orchard and use a propane cannon to scare them away as well.
Please read the video description, you're confusing this fig with Unknown Pastiliere which I have a separate video for. The Pastiliere variety has fruited in many other states without the fig wasp. In all locations it is not uncommon for this variety to drop fruits for the first few years for some unknown reason.
I’m quite sure it’s pronounced PAS-tee-lee-Yerr ... not Pas-tee-lee-Yer-ree b/c the E at the end is silent, not Pas-tee-lee-Yay b/c the E at the end means you have to pronounce the R before it. Forgive my humble footnote
