The story of Augustine always gets me choked up.

It’s like Paul preaching in Athens in Acts 17, quoting the pagan poets to his audience-except here, it is the very words of Scripture imprinted on the walls of the building itself that he is bringing to their attention. Jeff doesn’t even need his Bible to preach, he can just look up at the walls of the Missouri state capitol building and read his sermon texts right off of them.

Pastor Durbin is a man that when convicted by God, said "yes Lord". May God continue to bless him and his ministry.

The question is..... Should Our Christian Biblical Faith influence or dictate the State legislation..... It is no question...biblical Christianity has the God Given right to influence culture....and Culture influences public state legislation ...... The answer: Yes, Christianity should influence the State and perhaps Even provide for enactment or abolition of corrupt legislation so long as it uphold biblical governing principles and does not infringe upon the God given rights of Humanity.

This is the real and true Christianity of victory. Not the demoralized shell that is most modern Christianity which has all the teeth and half the truth missing out of it. That being said, let us spread this instead of focusing too much on the fact that most modern Christianity isn't this. Because it can be. This Truth has power and can spread like wild fire and then we can and will win again.

I will never be a man like Durbin and the like. I honestly and sincerely believe he is a better man than I am. So this is not a critique of his faithfulness or obedience. I just don’t understand his interpretation of the law of God, and how it applies to believers today in the new covenant. Based on what he said here, God is at odds with the majority of the church. Not just for ignoring abortion, but for many, many, many other instances of injustice in the world. So unless I am actively fighting for a valid political cause, the Father’s face is turned from me, and I will be judged for my sins on the last day? How does that line up with Ephesians, Colossians, Romans, Hebrews. Again, this is not a critique of the man. If you compare his life to mine, I can tell you I will fall very very short in comparison, but how does what he said here about the church line up with the Good News of the Gospel?
