When it comes to NBA discussions we don't do hypotheticals or ifs and buts. If you aren't on the court it doesn't matter how great you are what can you do?? Absolutely nothing. I remember Pat Riley from the Showtime Lakers of the 80s, I haven't seen him in a while, but it is just strange for me to see him with gray hair, because I still have vivid memories with him coaching Kareem, Magic, Jamal Wilkes and Michael Cooper. It makes me stop and think of how much time has passed since those days.

I have nothing but respect for Pat Riley. I put this man for up there with guys like Greg Popovich, Phil Jackson and Jerry Sloan as one of the greatest coaches and GMs ever. This is a guy who has coached Kereem, Magic, Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, Dwyane Wade, Shaq...jimmy Butler is pretty much a nobody compared to some of the greats this man has been around.
