Really useful videos and much appreciated. Any chance of a video going through all the various test sequences on a PAT machine? I have an Apollo 500+ and only use about half of the options and wonder if i am missing something.
Hi, do you need to test radios, cd players, as they are class 2 items , the only place you can attach the fly lead would be the aerial or on large systems , metal casing and speaker connections.
hi, i have found your videos very helpful, just wanted to know if it is worth buying the IET 5th edition code of practice, i only do in house PAT testing for the company i work for.
Yes, worth buying as it is good reference. Also, the COP is written for dutyholders as well as PAT testers so that they understand their obligations as an employer
Any tips for doing the 2377 C&G PAT ...?? Taking it in Nov. Already have what one interviewer referred to my online PAT qualification I understand to be legally recognized as MICKY MOUSE and the Kewtech Tester I got for £360... is it that the 2377 includes FIXED appliance testing (in house purpose designed circuits) whereas my online course and certificate is for truly portable equipment only etc etc etc
I think one thing to remember is that there is no such thing as a legally recognised PAT tester or test course. To carry out PAT testing you only have to be someone competent but that is down to you how to demonstrate that. Doing a 2377 course is not necessarily the holy grail unless you are working for someone who may stipulate that you have it.
