This is a song from a future unfinished album, I don't normally upload singles but me and Miles came up with an idea for an animation to go along with it that was too delightfully simple to keep from sharing so here it is. Cilantro.
@@ricardo5651 You don't have to listen to the music but its always been a majority of the content on this channel. The first political video on the channel (at least that is still up) didn't even show up until there were already 9 full albums and 2 EPs. Also, even if Patricia did start with political content and moved to music, she still shouldn't give a shit about what you think and your subscription doesn't mean your opinion of what she should create matters. You aren't very much fun at all.
@@ricardo5651 You didn't know that most of Patricia's content is music, so evidently I know more? Coming into someone's comments and telling them that they suck and should stop making what they like to make isn't very fun and neither is getting very mad about being called on it.
So on a recent episode of Well Theres Your Problem, Alice (who is trans) made a comment about a plane cockpit making an array of loud weird sounds being 'like a trans woman who's getting into electronic music' and I thought of this comment and laughed like a hyena
@@quantumblauthor7300probably has something to do with a connection between autism and gender identity. At least for patricia and I assume a lot of her fans.
@@angterrastriker6535 The line “Special! Call me crazy call me slow” makes sense as being about neurodivergence, and Patricia Taxxon is autistic, so I’d say it’s an apt interpretation.
@@nonagonguy6121 "Call your doctor, call your priest Got my own malignant scripture, and it works phenomenally" also works as being about neurodivergence, if you think about it. Back in the medieval days, they would call the local priests to check their neurodivergent children for fear of possession, hence the first line. The second line could be seen as being about how we have our own way of doing certain tasks, which neurotypical people hate for being "the wrong way to do it", even if it does work phenomenally. (sorry if this is long, I got passionate)
I dunno why but I find the vocals at 1:13 strangely enchanting. It's such a non-sequitur that I can't stop thinking about it. Also it's really well-sung, which probably contributes.
Check out Bis!(from Glasgow, not the austrian guy), especially 'return to central', I think the brought out an anniversary version recently. Anyway, this reminds me a lot of them, esspecially the song 'Chicago'.
Anonymous Misnomer So, likely to provoke a bad reaction in certain people but for many others an intriguing garnish best enjoyed in small doses? Sounds about right.
I love literally every single choice in this song. It makes me so happy. The beautiful words like pulchritudinous, the vocals that overlap, the noises! Section (especially fond of the barking and gunshots), the cute animation... Perfect, all of it. I had it on repeat for days.
Not to dive into the chaos of life but it's a bit worrisome that if I hadn't have stayed up all night in a depressed haze I may not have ever followed the right rabbit hole to find this which would've been a real shame because I love it. There's a more optimistic outlook here that I'm not able to fully see, let alone articulate, but I know its there and that's comforting in its own way.
@@quantumblauthor7300 for clarification, my original reading of the song was of these two characters meeting. The end of the first verse into the chorus made me think this "The nuttiness with the tang, a little bit a grace Gold grenade in this place Historically glistening carapace Bodacious babe, get a look at her face! Special! Call me crazy call me slow..." Reads kinda like a call and response due to the pitch difference. And the little: "Who made the moon that pulchritudinous silver? She must have bought that shade from a market in Peru Can’t help but look upon her multitudinous trinkets I always wish that I could have that attitude" reads like sapphic yearning to me. Patricia later stated on Twitter I think that the cilantro is autism. Which is how I definitely read it now. I love Patricia's music and finding meaning in her lyrics and sounds :)
Been jamming to this all day now and I'm still trying to pinpoint what I like about it so dang much. Something about the mix of chiptune and glitch elements reminds me of Splatoon's music, but I can't say why I like that stuff so dang much either so that doesn't help me narrow it down much lol. Call me a pleb but nothing gets me more interested in an album than just like one single I end up sinking into. I keep meaning to get into your stuff more and this may well be the push I needed, if I could just lay off the replay button for like one damn minute.
You know what's dumb? I think for me, a big draw of this song over most other chiptune is... the vocabulary. I don't know why, but it makes it extra charming. Like it's being sung by nerds cramming for the SAT.
I know what I like about this song- it would be really great to poledance to! It's funky, has a good bass, and lyrics that are cleverly sharp. I thought it had splatoon elements too!
THIS!!!! THIS IS WHAT I WANT. I've been trying to find my spot in music, mainly learning to create it, and this is that cozy little place I've needed. The joy of creation reflects upon my heart like a sickly swirl of frosting. Thank you!
Do you know at this point that she has lots of music on bandcamp that you can download for as low as 1? Also she has a few music theories with one on pop theory too. Hope you may like this info!
@@Patricia_Taxxon now was it they 2D platformer or a 3D platformer? We need an entire fictional history of these gals ASAP! SOUNDS good, keep on jammin'
You know, I just noticed for the first time that the two different voices are each captioned in a specific color, and that those colors are at least somewhat similar to the palettes of Pix and Bit.

this is so good!! it’s really bouncy and fun but it also has this very neat edge to it and the lyrics make you do a real double take and are genuinely thought provoking. really cool combination of stuff going on in one track!
As someone who loves how prolific you are and how diverse your catalog is, I now want you to make nothing but bubblegum bass tracks for the rest of eternity. Amazing work!
been having this song on repeat for the past 3 days, thanks for highlighting that one comment of the guy being like "wait ur the same patricia taxxon who made cilantro and [other song]????" so i checked this out and forgot the other
You said somewhere that it's the same volume as the rest of the song at 00:37, it's just clipped, but clipped sounds are actually somewhat louder than unclipped ones. The fundamental of a square wave is louder than a sine wave of the same amplitude because the extra harmonics fold the fundamental down (it's louder by 4/pi or about ~1.27 times). The harmonics also add energy to the sound, which can increase perceived loudness. Doesn't seem that much louder to warrant a warning to me, though.
im trying to figure out what this genre of music is and why its so weirdly good...i think. It feels like its just some weird ADHD genre and it kinda vibes
Randomly heard this song in the background on autoplay and HOLY SIHT TIHS SOUNDS AmAZING. I LOOKED AT THE VIDEO AND HOLY SIHT THEY ARE ADOREBLE!!!!!! This is porbably one of the greatest songs I've heard in a while and the video is so cute and bubbly to match... I wanna hear more songs like this!!!!
All I can hear is Jester from Critical Role. This song is so amazing on its own but the lyrics relate to her super strongly too. And kudos to the video maker for adding lyrics on screen
@@Patricia_Taxxon it's nice to know. I am also transitioning and I am just coming out of the dark phase of the questioning and uncertainty so those albums came at a very cathartic moment for me. Thanks for releasing them :)
