Paul McCartney and Chris Rock talk about their perception of aging and oldness. #paulmccartney #chrisrock #2020 #interview #thebeatles #gettingold #aging #oobujoobu
He probably will... and I don't stress about it. I'm 69 years old myself (born on George Harrison's 12th birthday!) and have relatives who have lived past 100. I'm active (well, not quite as out there as Sir Paul!), but feel great, play lots of music myself, and am waiting to hear that Paul needs a double-reed player for some track he's laying down. 😃
Paul has always had a good Work Ethic. Key to a long life. Also Paul has always been Positive about Life in General. We have been blessed from those Lads from Liverpool and beyond. Paul is still pressing forward today. Writing that next great Song 🎵
Chris Rock and Paul McCartney were not a duo that I expected to be together in a video. Thanks to whoever posted it. And thanks RU-vid for knowing I wanted to see this when even I didn’t know!
@@094340 I"ve spent quite a bit of time reflecting on the number of significant people in my life that I've outlived. I"ve outlived by quite a bit my father, three uncles, Elvis, John Lennon and Kennedy, various other people. A lot of people look at certain benchmarks in their lives. It's just an observation, maybe you're just too young to understand. Relax for god's sake! do something to desensitize yourself a bit.
I am 78 years old and my life is 200 percent better than it was during the first 40 years. I started living and enjoying life at 41 years old. I am so grateful to be 78 and happy. When I was young I never felt this way.
I remember being 21, and the drummer in our band was turning 30😊 We all felt so sorry for him, but tried to pretend it was “just a number” (being 21, I was secretly horrified), now at 56 I’d take 30 in a heartbeat!
Friend in high school was certain he'd be dead by 24 because he "just couldn't imagine being that old, what would be the point?"........we'll both be 68 next fall. He's doing fine.😂
Second wind still going today ... I sat down and composed "Lovely Linda (Sweet Eyes)" and released it on my RU-vid & Instagram Channels to celebrate the wonderful Linda McCartney .... so greatly missed but remembered everyday .... Here, There & Everywhere ... that tingle you feel and sigh just over your shoulder .... it brought me great happiness singing this song ... Such love is still around.
I went to the very same school (me and my bro) The Liverpool Institute for Boys. Though we were there in the 70s, I had same Geography teacher as Paul. Its now a school for the arts and entertainment which McCartney co funded.
I remember hearing a person who was at the time, the oldest person alive (109) and they said one thing that stood out with me: "Oh, to be 60 again" Also what blew my mind: She outlived her grandchildren. Ponder that!
Once heard a wise 60 year-old Medical Doctor say that he would not want to live till 100. Found it very shocking to hear.. But as I grow older I am starting toslowly understand what he means. There are many downsides. Including losing your friends. Or even children and grandchildren.
Being that John was taken from this world far too soon, by one of this earth's most grievous mistakes, Paul must live to at least 120 to compensate for it. Also, since George also left prematurely, Ringo must become a centenarian as well. C'mon God, do we have a deal?
Some of y’all don’t realize it but this video was recorded very recently as of me commenting right now here in 2024 and Paul is 81 years old right here. He’s got all his mind intact. Lively. It’s remarkable honestly. And yeah, he probably will make it to 100.
My great-grandmother lived to be 91. She was born in the days of horse drawn carriages and gaslight, and died in the era of computers and Mariner 9 photographing the surface of Mars. I can't imagine how elastic her mind must have been as a result of all that change.
Strange to hear him talk about the Queen's longevity now. 😢 My grandmother always prided herself on being "not nearly as old as the Queen" because she was born one day later-and she's still going strong today. She might actually make the 100, and I hope she does... but only because she's still LIVING into her large 90s, not just SURVIVING into them.
Composer J.Rodrigo reached 99, composer J.Takacs got to 104, singer/performer J.Heesters was 107, pianist Colette Maze died with 108 ... so why not getting to 110, Paul! 🥰
When Macca wrote "when I'm 64". I wonder if he could even imagine in his wildest fantasy that he would be called "Gilf" by kids when he had turned 81! I wouldn't call him gilf, but he is one of the cutest grandfathers I've seen.
I’m 71 on May 11th. I look back into my 20s when I was having the best time if you told me then I was gonna be 71. I would’ve told you you’re crazy where did the time go?
@@franknewman3629 That’s interesting and not surprising, as Hamburg is a large port city with a lot going on. I lived in Germany a long time ago and have fond memories. Hitchhiking back from Copenhagen in the late 60s, my friend and I stopped in Hamburg on our way back to Bonn. I vaguely remember a brief tour of the Reeperbahn because we knew the Beatles had played in several clubs there. Intense experience …
@@franknewman3629 hardly there long enough and not at an impressionable age for it to be that influential in his life. He'd have not understood much of what was said there either.
You want to live to a 100 if you’re still functional mentally and physically. You don’t want to live to that age if you’re not. I know someone who lived to 105. At her 100th birthday party that I was at, she was already starting to go blind and deaf but her mind was sharp as ever. She spent her last 5 years not able to do what she did before, she was very active before, she was trapped in a bed.
