You know what? After what this guy has accomplished, he is actually pretty humble... other guys had just one hit and you couldn't even talk to them... I wish I could play and sing like that at his age...
I don't think Paul is selling himself out. At this point in his career, it's safe to say that he really doesn't have to perform where he doesn't want to.... so I guess he must just love performing, and he enjoys that show, so he decided to go and have a bit of fun. Nothing wrong about that really...
Shame it's taken 6-7 years, but at least the X-Factor has FINALLY had someone with GENUINE talent on it. I love Sir Paul and his work (And of Course Ringo's work). I think he's brilliant and I reckon he only went on to upstage this talentless lot, because I rememer him slagging these shows off in the papers :) R.I.P John Lennon R.I.P George Harrison
+Ultimately Elvis Yeah, they always throw their no talent karaoke contestants on stage on Xfactor and American Idol whenever REAL musicians show up to make the fucking little retards feel like they can actually do something. You know, like the special Olympics. People in their 20'a that know nothing but rap and hip hop who "try" to sing rock really is like holding the hands of mentally retarded kids to jump over a hurdle or throw a ball. It just proves how pathetic and NO talented the this younger generation is. The talent pool has completely dried up!
Ultimately Elvis some of them have performance talent just the world of music got so dumbed down there is very little good material with elements to evoke a lasting response. Think about it how many songs of current times will be passed on down the line. Not many.
Ultimately Elvis I agree- but per my posted comment- Although I haven't been an avid viewer of X Factor, I would have certainly known about this episode in advance- spoiler alert or not. It must've been the UK version just like there are various international "___Got Talent" series. I know some of you could have done well without the other singers during Drive My Car, but given the choice, I'd much rather have heard these finalists, that have earned their way and at least have a decent singing voice, then being at a concert, spending these days well over $100 a ticket, only to have some annoying, obnoxious individual singing, clapping, standing and blocking your view and otherwise disrupting your enjoyment of a live show that you paid hard earned money to enjoy.
@unclerudy9797. Those of you who still believe that gossip from 1966 are sick. It was all done various ways to make money in USA. Us in Great Britain know is complete bull****, how can someone be found who is spitting image of him, sound like him when speaking & singing and play guitar left handed? Paul McCartney is still alive, he has performed live at Glastonbury (did in 2022) & is doing a tour this year. He spoke about this gossip on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden. Truth can be read on Wikipedia.
Subscribe to Pewdiepie kun I disagree massively. John’s solo albums were a lot better than Paul’s. John was also the better song writer between the two. John would of be if, if still alive one of the best if not the best musician of all time
@@MrWilliam15 I don't think so. They were both incredible song writter and i think that Paul's solo albums were a little better (except for Imagine). Like idk if you listened to Mind Games by John but except the song called Mind Games, this album was (i think) bad
Live and Let Die is an amazing rock song that will go down in history with about another 100 or so McCartney songs that have touched millions of fans. Paul keeps chugging along and doing all types of music and will leave an amazing musical library for the world. No musician can compare to McCartney. Their will never be another.
+Superblackhawks_fan68 Man Paul McCartney is a man who loves music and he's not selective about who he plays with and where he plays. He is still the lad from Liverpool who grew up in a normal family and did normal things, with normal friends and normal people. Yes, he's beyond rich, he is beyond famous, and he is not "ordinary" by our standards, yet he sees himself as ordinary and he feels ordinary in his mind, heart, and soul. Consequently, he will associate with ordinary people whereas John and George (maybe John) wouldn't dare associate with these people (especially George). There's something to said about never forgetting your roots.
The guy is a legend. The father of music. He is amazing and changed the lives of millions. He deserves every bit of sucess he's ever had. Nobody else in the world has ever had the talent of Paul. Nobody else ever had the diversity to go from "Yesterday" to "Helter Skelter". From "Eleanor Rigby" to "Maybe I'm Amazed." Well I'M AMAZED. I'm in awe of this guy. There will never be another Paul McCartney so we should treaure him. I'm 17.. seeing him at the 02 next week. I am SO EXCITED.
It’s always been remarkable to me how McCartney’s dozens and dozens and dozens of hit songs, whether they were written when he was a member of The Beatles, written when he was a member of Wings, or written as a solo artist (1970 - 1971) & (1980 - 2024) sound absolutely nothing like each other. Each and every Paul McCartney hit song is truly it’s own separate species of animal. That is one of the things that, for me, is what sets him apart from the majority of the world’s songwriters.
Paul himself has said The Beatles would try to write a Smokey Robinson sounding song or be inspired by someone else, moreover he also stated they didn't wish to end up like The Supreme's, sounding pretty much the same on every record. He carried this over to his solo career, hence a song like "I'm Carrying" and "Live and let Die". Widely disparate.
Theatre Mad don't worry, I don't think many have forgotten the Beatles, but I do think that seeing as two are dead, and Paul has a more prominent career than Ringo, he may be the most famous one, in 2018 at least. But in no way whatsoever am I trying to take John, George, and Ringo down a peg. They were all geniuses of course!
When you see McCartney live the sound is amazing. But TV, Computers & Cell phone speakers and recorders dont capture the true sound and feel. See McCartney live as i have and you will be blown away. His voice is great and the sound pounds through you as he makes his way through his hit Solo songs with The Beatles and Wings and is just sounds amazing. I seen him 5 times and i have seen the Stones and others and i can tell you that by far the talent that i seen from McCartney live playing many instruments and singing solo songs like Yesterday, Blackbird and here today were perfect. Band on the run, Jet, Juniors Farm, Another day, Hi Hi Hi, Listen to what the man says, Back in the USSR, Got to get you into my life, Night before, Hello Goodbye, etc were mind blowing and pound through you. If he comes anywhere near your town or city, i wouldnt miss it. Watching a living legend will give you a musical memory for life.
A Graham So true! I don't think he sounds great in TV performances such as this, but as a young fan, I feel so priveliged to have seen him twice in my short life. I've seen a once in a lifetime show twice...
Can you imagine Simon Cowell stating, Sorry Paul but your voice and your originals just aren't good enough. You might want to try something else. You`'ll never make it in music.
Even if we all know Simon is all joking stating that, I don't think that will be in a good taste, most likely not going to be taken kindly by other musician and especially Beatles fan. Simon ass will get kicked real hard. I don't think he would dare to go that far joking on a living legend like Paul.
Never another band like the Beatles regardless what people without musical talent say. And more importantly there will never be another McCartney. Writer, singer, musician extraordinaire..... Everywhere
-"I know you watch the show at home..." YEAH, RIGHT! -"Both of them are good. One of 'em's going to win." ------ McCartney way of saying 'this show is rubbish and it's all scripted by Cowell, so... I don't care.'
As John responded to royalty, while on stage, "Those of you in the cheaper seat, clap you hands. The rest of you can rattle your jewelry, LOL! At the close of the performance, he said, " I hope we passed the audition! " :)
Paul McCartney is the most important personality in all modern music history, only Bach could match him. EVERY musician right now, knowing it or not, is influenced by his legendary work and success.
+Dan Joe Salazar Paul really is a one man band who can do it all. These days (and from the very beginning) he plays guitar, bass, piano, drums, sings and WRITES ALL THE PARTS of those instruments to each song not to mention the lyrics of the songs themselves. I would be very difficult name any other musician in any genre of music that can say that about their career back in the 50's OR today. Paul McCartney is truly a one of a kind irreplaceable musical talent.
Dan Joe Salazar Paul and the Beatles as well tapped into something from the other realm and brought it down to earth. Happens very rarely and it's like God said here you go if you had gifts like this regularly you wouldn't appreciate them.
How in the hell , someone could ever be able to compare Beiber,." who's a fucking no body " as far as l am concerned to a world living legend "Sir Paul McCartney " "whatever you smoke must be pretty good stuff "
APhilCollinsFan Beiber is a bubble gum artist. He has his place. But lack of depth or life experience shows up in his music. And then you have the sad sack victims both Black and White talking about shit they should keep to themselves. After on skin of the onion peeled back only losers act like they really give a shit about what they say.
bobbydylanio - McCartney is trying to help others - he always does something like this around Christmas time. He loves performing anywhere, but he's always helping new bands get noticed. He's an altruist, not merely a moneyearner. I don't like XFactor either, but I expect McCartney did it for someone he liked and to support youngsters new to the fame scene. He's a free spirit and still a rebel - he always does what others say he shouldn't all the time. Always has.
I saw him at the 02 a few days ago and he was..... out of this world. People were just staring at him - gobsmacked. He's so amazing, there will NEVER be another Paul McCartney. He is a living legend. If you've never seen him live, you have to. At the 02 his voice was AMAZING... the audience were going crazy - crying, fainting, screaming... On the radio they called it a "life-changing experience" and it is. PLEASE see Paul live if you haven't already. There will never be another.
Oh my Goddddd! For almost 5 years now I thought his appearance on this program was just a rumor. I am just NOW seeing this on the dawn of 2014. Thanks for posting this! GREAT performance!
When at the age of 10, I saw his face for the first time on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964... I was dumbstruck and instantly in love and I still am. His driven talent is unsurpassed. It's God-given !! What a gift Paul has been to all of us. And such a regular guy and awesome husband and father. I hate to think of him leaving this world but it is inevitable so I am preparing myself now cuz it's going to be a real heartbreak. God bless and reward him for creating such wonderful music for us !!! ❤️.
I must say I appreciate the irony. Sir Paul McCartney, a legend who's career spans fifty years, singing alongside ... er, whoever they are, who're already forgotten a few years after this was first broadcast.
Sir Paul Mccartney really dont need an intrudoction we all know it, we are all thinking it, we are all saying it. Its fact. What a legend. I cant stop thinking though how it would be if George didnt die of a tumor and John didnt got murdered...Its so unfair. Kudose to Paul who keeps the Beatles mania around for years to come
OMG, I have never seen this before. I had NO idea he would go on shows like these. WHY did he never show up on "America's Got Talent" would be COOL if he could be a guest judge sometime, even if it's only for a day. It has been done by other celebrities! LOVE this!!
It shows Paul McCartney sharing his talent with up and coming stars (?). It seems very generous of Paul to play along with the contestants. I would have been in too much awe to have been able to open my mouth!
I think this was pretty soon after or before his Heather Mills divorce and X Factor was pretty popular back then so rejuvenating his image (not that he needed it) on live television was a good way to do it
@@niamunt The divorce from Mills destroyed him emotionally. I was lucky enough to see him live in 2005 and he performed brilliantly! Have seen him in concert a few times since, and I think she broke my heart as much as she destroyed him 😢. He seemed to never really fully recover from what she did to him 💔. So pleased to see he appears to be happy with Nancy, but he will NEVER be able to forget losing Linda's love and support to the cruelty of cancer 😢
The guy & that generation had more talent in their nail clippings than 99% of modern music today. These shows don't help, rewarding & celebrating copycat "singers." Sling a brick into *ANY* English pub on a Saturday night & you will take out 100 equally as talented "mime artists" but you would have to throw a *LOT* of big bricks into a lot of small pubs to take out people who create & can *PLAY* music of this quality!
paul Mccartney is amazing! if you look at some beatles concerts and the concerts now; there is nothing changed! (exapte for his age) he is stil amazing AND the way he looks when he sings is also stil the same. it's funny to him sing, the way his eyebrows move up and down :D respect for him! and also a great song! i really love the (beatle) sound in it!
My uncle was a camera man for CBS's Ed Sullivan Show my birthday is February 9th his gift to me was tickets to the show the American premier of The Beatles. My love affair with them never ended.
+mark caine His voice may not be what it once was but his guitar, bass and piano playing are still second to none. Oh yeah, most people don't know it but he's a pretty awesome drummer too!
Go and see him Live! I saw him in Glasgow at The SSE Hydro on December 14th 2018 and he sounded amazing. Can’t tell any age in his voice at all. For a 76 year old man, he doesnt half put on a good 3hour show!!
i dont think i've heard this show before. lol someone explain? The intro is perfect! i couldn't have done it any better. love you paul :) love you bealtes :)
