Nice review! Eddie can be a monster on stage. You just haven't seen some of his earlier performances. Now he seems to have embraces his inner hippie/surfer dad with a sense of humor. Eddie is the king of improve and is so cool about it if you're paying attention because it's always a tribute to their heroes. And, yeah, Eddie had just clobbered Jeff with the swinging mike. (remember you weren't happy with them when they didn't leave the stage right after "Porch"?) That was why. Jeff was answering telephone calls with nobody on the other line, poor guy. 😱 Good score.

Early PJ performances had a lot of this head banging and stage diving. That all ended after Rockshilde. But how can you blame them for deciding to tone it down? If I were in their shoes, I would too. They still bring plenty of passion to every performance.

Solid... yeah that's just classic Eddie..100% that was the encore, I believe Pulled up is a talking heads song, followed by an improve, then Neil.. and yes, Eddie just nailed him with a mic..good fact - Pearl jam has a close relationship with Neil Young. 1995 Neil Young album "mirror ball" had Pearl Jam as the backing band, and they toured with Neil that year as his band.. your videos always drop at the perfect time for me lol best 🤙

The fact that Pearl Jam was Neil Young's backing band was very impressive since in the past, he has done just that (aside from co-op with Cosby, Stills and Nash, which was also impressive) - his backing bands included Crazy Horse, and The Stray Gators. Ben Keith of the stray gators as a fun fact was the producer of 90s big singer song writer Jewel's first album.

Oh, and as unclean as they were, you got harmonies and Mike McCready going off on the guitar. Plus, Eddie's vocals overall. 😎🔥

I've YET to see PJ do this song without rocking out HARDCORE to this song! Eddie LOVES Neil Young and often high charged doing Young's songs lol

At the time of the concert at Landgaaf NL the major public had not yet heard of PJ. So most of the audience knew next to nothing about the band... and they loved it. The concert is regarded as one of the best, if not the best, of Pinkpop's over 50 year history. I live in NL and discovered PJ in 1992... however I was to young to be at the festival... 🥺

Pretty much any show you watch of theirs from 92 was high energy and head banging the entire way through. I always thought he’d break his neck lol There’s heaps of shows on RU-vid to check out. They were filmed on home video cameras so aren’t that clear but they will give you an idea of what those early shows were like.

I KNOW this is an older React video and you've seen Eddie bouncing off the walls on stage by now, BUT during the early 90's Eddie was like a MAD MAN on stage, FULL of impact energy, ADHD to the max of max's and use to have the band terrified he was going to get himself killed hanging from shit, jumping into crowd surf and jumping off stacks and PA systems lol. Eddie could barely stand still in those days giving you a SHOW!
@brucenadeau5920
@brucenadeau5920 3 года назад
Btw, Eddie USE to THINK that is what he had to do to command a stage presence, with age and maturity he learned he can be silent for 5 minutes and hold your attention just with some facial expressions, THAT is a stage man!

Subscribed, Greetings from Scotland, David ! Maybe if you find the time you could perhaps react to some Pantera ?
@THEDavidHeretic
@THEDavidHeretic 3 года назад
That would be kind of tricky, I'm pretty familiar with Pantera's studio albums so I couldn't do an honest reaction to them. If there were some live videos of them. I could definitely do a reaction to the live performances though.
