Interested to know...after watching 4 or 5 of these Pearl Jam covers. Is it changing your perspective of Pearl jam as a band ? In the first video you said you’ve never been a fan? I think your bro might be on the right track 👍 Anyway, Nice review David. Cheers for the shoutout

No worries about the shoutout man, I believe in giving credit where credit is due....and you were one of the brave few who actually spoke up and let your suggestion be heard. I dunno if I would consider myself a "fan"....however I will say they have earned a ton of respect in my eyes as a live band. I would definitely give them a listen if I ever hear them played, and not turn my nose up at them like I used to in the past. Than you for watching, and I hope you enjoyed the show.

When you said they seems to be genuinely having a good time, that’s the reason they have such a loyal fan base. Every live show has its own set list and no matter how big or small the venue, they play like they’re hanging out in your backyard jamming and the crowd gives back that same energy. The entire band appreciates playing for the fans- they are consistently one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen. Thanks again for the going outside the usual reviewed PJ songs.

Yes agree with everything you said. Especially how they can make an arena FEEL like you're in a room with um jammin. My last show in QC I was in the nosebleeds but still felt that way with the crowd and band seemingly putting a show on for ME! SO FACKIN GREAT! Haven't lived until you've heard thousands of grown men doing the high do dos for Black as a WHOLE. Spine tingling to say the least. Not to mention THE MAN McCREADY taking us on journeys, natural highs to places we've never been. ✌️🤍🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for another great review. It seems like you are enjoying each PJ track you've reviewed. You're smiling the whole time. Let me just say though that Stone Gossard, their rhythm guitar player, is more laid back, but he is also the band member most responsible for the composition and structure of many of Pearl Jam's greatest tracks. I know some serious musicians who consider Stone Goddard the amongst the very best song writers of the last 20-30 years. When you are in person and not watching a clip where the camera is following the most animated action, you see that Stone is beaming with pride as he plays. McCready totally shreds and they are all brilliant, but Stone is the hidden gem.

Yes at QC in 16 Ed says this next one and all the great ones were written by Stone. Obviously there's exceptions in my opinion but yeah he's THE MAN, but so is McCREADY, Matt, Jeff and Ed. :) such a great group of musicians

Fun side note if nobody ever mentioned it. The guy playing Piano in this is Brendan O'Brien. Long time Pearl Jam producer, (also produced the first 5 Stone Temple Pilots records, Engineered and Mixed the peppers Blood Sugar Sex Magic, Mixed the Superunknown record by Soundgarden and a bunch of other stuff). On the production and effort...it was VH1 Honors The Who. So it was a full on for the event. Also in regards to Pearl Jam specifically, The Who are one of Eddie's favorite and biggest influences and he is good friends with Pete.

Welllllllll.....I dunno if I would say I was becoming a "fan".....however I will say I have a newfound respect for the band as live performers. I can't say whether or not I'll actually ever become a fan, however I definitely won't turn my nose up at them like I used to. No need to thank me for the shoutout, I just believe in giving credit where credit is due...and you were one of the few brave souls to actually voice your opinion. P.S. Stone Gossard is the guitarist that's not moving enough for your tastes and since he's one of the founders of the band and an incredible musician I'm going to leave him alone. However, if you do really want to see Stone's spirit, react to "Porch" from Pink Pop '92

Pearl Jam is simply one of the truly great bands of the modern day. Eddie Vedder is one of the best singers/lyricists of our time and Mike McCready (the solo guitarist) is an SRV level magician. And yes....check out “Porch” live at Pinkpop ‘92!🤘🤘

Mike mcready has always been so connected to the music. I respect him so much as a guitarist. He has many pieces that astound me but as you've already seen his performance with mad season playing wake up live and absolutely spazzing out on that solo. He just has always captured me watching and listening to him. Imagine being the lead guitarist in temple of the dog, pearl jam and mad season and having the privilege to play with layne stayley, Chris cornell and Eddie vedder.

Eddie is a fanboy of The Who as a young man and has performed a ton of times with The Who. Stone Gossard has never been as animated as the others, but he is the groove master and keeps it locked in.

The windmill is Pete too. He saw Keith Richards stretching backstage once and he was moving his arm in a circular motion. He thought it looked cool. Pete started the windmills that night.

ALTHOUGH....being a Misfits fan....I will say Doyle does bring a certain level of intensity and borderline violence to his version of it when he plays. But noooooobody does the full circle arm swing better than Pete.

Finally saw it! Now you know what we were all yapping about. 🤣 BTW - your brother is right Pearl Jam is one of the best bands ever. They're weird. Experimental sometimes. Eddie goes off on his politics but time will tell. "Black" and "Even Flow" have been covered in numerous languages all over the world. And Eddie's nice.

@@THEDavidHeretic okay. There are two versions out there from the same show. Sound quality is not great on either in the beginning but picks up (?). This is Pearl Jam in full regalia doing "Whip it" by Devo on Halloween. I know Eddie is a fan of theirs so this is not just a goof. This version is the most fun IMO. I was kinda teasing ya anyways people have been getting wrong for years. My family and friends call me Christi. You got my weirdo last name right I think which I give you credit for. Doesn't happen very often. It's a married name and my husband has passed but I've discovered having an oddball last name is a great preventative for identity theft. 😁
