Burgs... IMHO this is one of the best sounding "compilations" you've made so far! You always do good though... so probably I feel a boost of appreciation coming also from the couple Stratocaster-Supersonic. They are a personal fav. of mine.
Brett, question for you. Are you running your Elements at 9 or 18 volts. I have one too, and I've never been able to get it sounding even remotely close to what yours sounds like. I love the tone you get with it, but I can't quite get there. Curious what voltage you're at. Thanks!
The Chrono, Compressor and WH-1 all run off the 12V feed with a daisy chain. Everything else draws minimal current so they're daisy chained with a Diago PS02 daisy chain. The Elements runs off the 18V feed. I made a spread sheet detailing the current draw of each pedal before I put it together so I could economise and get it right. It worked!
That sound is nice! Sparkly! The pedals sound nice with it and the colors are pretty. I just ordered a 22W Supersonic and I can't wait until it arrives. I have been using a Silverface Twin, but I have to abuse it using a distortion. The Supersonic with the clean/burn channel + effects loop will change my set up. Your pedals sound great in this amp. Are you using the effects loop for any of them? How do you like that little what pedal? Is it easy to use? A pedal you might like, the Pickle Vibe
Hey Brett, what sized pedaltrains is this? I want to know because I'm about to order one and I just have a few more pedals that I use live than you do and see if I can acquire the appropriate size up.
Nice demo as always pal - lots of great useable sounds in there - especially loved the clean tone with comp, wamp and delay - sweet. Hope you have a great Christmas pal, best wishes to you the missus and of course the ever brilliant suds - cheers S.P.
Brett--what are your thoughts on a loop switcher? I have the same board (a PT-2, right?) and I thought it might be much easier to incorporate a switcher and do less tap dancing.
That's a beauty power supply man. I see it's been a while since you've posted this but I thought I throw a question at ya. NOISE! I have been struggling with pedal noise forever so I bought a Godlyke Powerall. Supposed to be the cat's ass so I thought but I can't even power my Boss RC-3 without major noise/hiss. My guitar is completely quiet and so is my amp. Would it make a difference if I got a Pedal Power instead? I don't want to waste my time or money but nobody seems to have the answer. thx
Brett, ever since I heard your (one off CER Drive), I've just got to have one. Can you recommend a pedal that gets close to it or just sell me yours? Please!!!!!
I just saw James Reyne's "Hammerhead" video on Rage (Aus TV) & went looking in the background to see if you might be in the vid....Not sure? Years ago & lots of hairstyles later!
The Giggity has been adopted by Mr Shaun Klinger. I'll probably never see it again..! The Sparkle Drive is still with me and waiting patiently for a demo (along with many others.. sorry!) Thanks for the kind words. :) B
Good video. I had to laugh when the camera panned out to the wide room shot with all your gear. LOL I bet your Wife doesn't even go in there, or she say's "How cann you walk in here" ;-) You like the Blue Note or the Rook better?
That's exactly what she says, too. Drives her nuts (and me). The Rook and Blue Note can't be compared because the Rook is "transparent" while the Blue Note unabashedly adds something (in my opinion). I go for the Blue Note's voice.
hey brett! you should check out the warm drive by nx generation.. not by any means an expensive pedal, but sounds amazing! i showed it to a couple of boutique pedal geeks and they love it too
There is a funny thing about all these gear review videos. Weather its Bret or Gearmandude or Rob Chappers or Andy at proguitarshop, they always sound like themselves. Maybe people should just find gear that sounds good and write songs. It seems like no matter how hard you try you always end up sounding like your self. Trey anastasio has a crazy touring rig. But on all the Letterman videos on youtbe he always sounds like trey even though he is playing through some shit amp.
