The beaches at Peniche and Figueira da Foz are two of the best we have seen in Portugal and we will definitely come back, but for now we are heading back to the UK. The weather has been cold and wet and more rain is forecast for the next few weeks.
We spent four days travelling 1,200 miles back to the Eurotunnel avoiding toll roads. We were rather nervous as we had been away nearly six months. Had we read the European Directive 2004/38/EC correctly? Did I, as a UK citizen, really have the right to travel freely with my European spouse and not be limited to the 90 days in the Schengen region?
