We seem to overlook the necessity of repentance. There is no salvation without repentance.

I remember how shocked I was when I saw that picture of Lentz walking with Justin Bieber. He was shirtless and his pants were so low that it was just shy of almost exposing himself. And this was well before all of his infidelities were exposed. It was both appalling and disgusting.

I'm searching for a church after realizing that I was in a church leaning heavily towards hillsong behavior, just about every church I've walked into is playing their music and gracing peace and love. It's a struggle to find sound doctrine in a church nowadays.

If 'christians' were willing to be accountable, to walk in integrity, and to talk with each other instead of the blame, run and hide world wide church policy, the 'secular' world would not need to call us out!

My pastor said today “There would not be bad teachers if there weren’t bad listeners”

I totally agree you both. I wish the praise team and the band would be abolished. I so miss singing the Doxology every Sunday morning. I also would be thrilled and thank the Lord Jesus if we could sing our songs from the hymnal with an organ and a piano. These churches which became “seeker sensitive” were a warning sign of things to come. “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires.”2 Timothy 4:3

I will be honest. I really enjoyed Hillsongs music back in the day, and what I am seeing now with them has me past the point of being sad. I am angry, angry that there was some good, beautiful music that was produced that used biblical language only as a front for a heretical church.

God wants you to be vulnerable and honest when you pray. He knows what you're going to pray for before you even pray. And he doesn't listen to the big words you use or the very very long prayer, he looks at your heart. God bless all who are reading this!

What I find "interesting" is that's it's currently a calendar month since we've had the news of Brian Huston's "resignation" yet the Hillsong web sites still have Brian and Bobby Houston listed as "Global Senior Pastors". Web sites don't take that long to modify.

We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God.

It seems to be anything that aligns with hyper grace teaching seems to go this way. But once you're out it can be very hard to find a new 'home'.

I have noticed that the Lutheran church that I go to have grown this past year. Don't know if people are coming out of the new age region and they are looking for a bible believing church not sure. We sing out of the old hymn books at our church.

What needs to happen so that people who have rejected Hillsong don't get fooled again is to understand a basic doctrine of biblical Christianity which is the regulative principle of worship. Sadly today the vast majority of evangelicals are clueless about the regulative principle of worship and even many people who think they are reformed don't understand it. Here is a good synopsis of the regulative principle of worship. Westminster Confession of faith chapter 21 But the acceptable way of worshipping the true God is instituted by himself, and so limited to his own revealed will, that he may not be worshipped according to the imaginations and devices of men, or the suggestions of Satan, under any visible representations or any other way not prescribed in the Holy Scripture. The RPW teaches that you are only allowed to do that in worship which God has commanded. Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. The normative principle of worship which most so called conservative Christians follow today which says you can do anything you want in worship unless it's forbidden is a horrible principle which is clearly contrary to scripture. If it's not commanded it's forbidden in worship is the biblical principle. If you cannot put forward any of these things for your worship practice it's not something you should be doing. Direct command for a practice to be done in worship. Approved historical example found in scripture. Good and necessary consequence. So regardless of all the other flaming heresies of Hillsong and others like them you can know they are to be shunned since they pervert the worship of God with their will-worship idolatry. Exclusive Psalmody which is the conclusion of taking RPW seriously is the position that all churches should embrace since you then have assurance that every song you sing in worship is perfectly accurate in doctrine and pleasing to God. Modern Christians have become so confused in that they have a man centered view of worship and don't really care about what's pleasing to God but they think they can offer whatever strange fire they want and God will be pleased with it. If parents were biblical and catechizing their children people would understand this about worship and not be confused. Westminster Larger Catechism answer to question 109. What are the sins forbidden in the second commandment? A. The sins forbidden in the second commandment are, all devising, counselling, commanding, using, and anywise approving, any religious worship not instituted by God himself; tolerating a false religion; the making any representation of God, of all, or of any of the three Persons, either inwardly in our mind, or outwardly in any kind of image or likeness of any creature whatsoever; all worshiping of it, or God in it or by it; the making of any representation of feigned deities, and all worship of them, or service belonging to them; all superstitious devices, corrupting the worship of God, adding to it, or taking from it, whether invented and taken up of ourselves, or received by tradition from others, though under the title of antiquity, custom, devotion, good intent, or any other pretence whatsoever; simony; sacrilege; all neglect, contempt, hindering, and opposing the worship and ordinances which God hath appointed. Violating the regulative principle of worship is violating the second commandment. Sadly today most professing Christians believe that habitual violation of the second commandment is perfectly acceptable.

My hope is that all the fallen Christians in any church come to repent and start fresh. Our God is forgiving to all that lose their way. It is so sad to hear other Christians here on youtube spend so much time picking away at fellow brothers and sisters. Mr Peters you mentioned that the secular world is exposing wrong doing Christians and their sin. They really didn't need too because you have made it your work! to expose and make judgement. I have to wonder what is your motivation? you can say what you want. But our GOD knows your heart!! I think its best to pray and reach out to those that have been lead away. We all have sinned and made bad choices and mistakes. Some to a higher degree than others. Lets pray for those that were hurt by those mistakes.

I fear for the children whose parents are taking them to Hillsong. They are being indoctrinated from a very early age and they don't know better or differently.

The real reason why Hillsong has come unmiss is because of the celebrity status of the pastors it has nothing to do with their Theology but the size and unaccountability. Bill Hybels fall illustrated that Don't read too deeply into it. Using events like that should not be used as cannon fodder. Rather learn from it

“Pagan” here (it’s true, I do like Plato and Aristotle… :) )… fwiw - after watching the documentary, I disagree strongly that it was intended to smear Christians in general. Most of the figures interviewed were Christians who had been hurt by Hillsong, and the filmmakers took pains to present their faith with respect. I came away from it with the strong impression that they were the victims, not of Christianity, but of a media conglomerate disguised as a church, and narcissistic leaders exploiting people’s sincere faith for their own selfish ends. I was glad that most of the ex-Hillsong members had found healthier churches rather than losing their faith. Carl Lentz comes across as a false prophet, not a representative of authentic Christianity.

The Bible tells us what to do and how to do it- and the benefits ... What not to do and how not to do it- and the consequences ... No excuses !!

My issue is we are all human! To be clear we need to be praying for these people and less judging. God will handle these people.

Sadly, my church continues to sing Hillsong's music, and just excuses it by saying they only sing songs with "acceptable" lyrics. And then there's the music of Hillsong female pastor subsets, such as Darlene Zsesch and Brooke Ligertwood, or the Bethel music connection of Brian Johnson (whose wife speaks of angels' flatulence) and those willing to partner with Bethel (Phil Wickham). Sadly (again), the music problem goes on and on (female pastor Kari Jobe; Joyce Meyer music frontman Matt Redman).

All christian leaders need daily accountability. Often leaders become above and seperate from the flock. We nrrd to bring back real deep christian friendships and godly community. Instead of show biz, money and branding.

Great video I really enjoyed it. I have a couple questions. What verse determines that we should not sing songs from false churches. Also, how would you deal with the argument of “well this is like the matter of meat offered to false Gods, to some it’s okay to eat and to other it’s not”. Also these people who would be okay with sing these kind of songs would quote Phillipians 1:15-18 and say it’s okay to sing these songs because Christ is being glorified inspire of the false preachers.

@GrayskyX The 3 areas of the NEEDS of the heart are MEANING, BEING, EXISTING. We need things, ideology, beliefs, situations, people to support these. THE PUREST WAYS TO MEETING THESE "MANY" NEEDS ARE THE BEST WAYS TO FILL THEM.

As much as these guys are right about leaving it to pagans rendering judgement about spiritual things, there is also the flip-side with Christians being prepared to play role of being held accountable and holding others accountable for their own life, or the part they play in the church. A lot of church leaders tend to build up a group of like minded people around themselves that they rather have speak into their life rather than have this group have any form of accountability or be challenged. This sort of support group is there to pat the leader's on their backs and give away, "Get out of jail free cards". Unfortunately in these cases, the only time any real accountability can be found will be in the world system. I came out of a church that though it is not a mega church, it had a major problem with accountability in the leadership. Any person who disagreed with leadership was thrown under the bus, and the church got away with much in the process. I have no idea what finally became of the church as I left, but it was because of this experience that I scrutinize the leadership of any church now. We all need someone to be accountable to, someone who will challenge you, not just pat you on the back. Hillsong has had many people over many years scrutinise the church but they never really listened, so God allowed this to happen to the church now.

They are a church that lack the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is the one that convicts you when you're doing or even thinking of something wrong. They quiet the Holy Spirit and that's why they compromise so much.

I dont mean to sound rude, but in 2018 i made comments (to my ride to church) that ravi was almost obsessed with preaching about sexual immorality. I prayed n believe ravi was saved. Sadly we won't know for sure til later. I understand BOTH sides of thaT situation. As always thank you 2 for your teaching and work

There is a difference imo between a false teacher who has an immoral lifestyle and, a teacher/minister who falls into sexual sin.

I discovered your video after going down a rabbit-hole with watching documentaries about Hillsong and other religions. Cults to Conciousness had a person who spoke out on Hillsong from the documentary on their channel. Are you saying that Hillsong music is bad? Or that the church was just rooted on sand and not the rock?

When it comes to "Spirituality" anyone is able to critique a religious/Spiritual body. Spiritual abuse is real and when those within the community get treated harshly from their own, someone has to be the mirror to hold one accountable. You said it yourself " I have sheep that are not of this flock", I read that as I can deliver a message through any vessel. Despite their religious/Spiritual background, listen to those who are giving critique and calling you out. When you don't you are blind to any message from God.

The Thief on the Cross said, "REMEMBER me when you come into your kingdom." This implies that Jesus already knew him...or he couldn't REMEMBER him. :)

You guys should be applauded for having a spine concerning government intrusion. On that point you have my full respect. Your ability to point out specifics regarding right and wrong is also laudable. Scripture is definitely specific and we ought to be equally specific. However you take liberties in many areas which scripture does NOT agree. The comment about Armenians coming around was just about as arrogant as any statement could be. Agree, or disagree your own opinion about the other guy's beliefs carry absolutely no weight against truth. Whatever is right or wrong cares not a whit. Most people have an opinion about what scripture declares. And they (normally) derive that opinion from their own peers. You guys were schooled by "Reformed theology" and that is very evident even before you told us. How is a person to actually recognize a "Good Church" from a bad one? Simply take your word for it? Assuming that you were actually correct in your advice, (which you aren't) how would a person proceed? How would he actually know that you are right? Simply put he is left to his own devices to figure it out. I'm not a well educated man. Knowing that to be the case I have taken it upon myself to learn an extra couple of languages. One of which I have attained good fluency, and the other conversant if not so fluent. One of the most significant things that I've learned from that experience is that different languages lead one to actually THINK in a manner distinct to that particular language. Furthermore the thought patterns change widely within subcultures within the specific language. You guys take an English translation of a text originally written primarily to Hebrews and within their culture which was then translated to Greek (for the most part) which was then translated to English by a bunch of scholars who often don't even speak the language. Then you take that translation of a translation and try to apply it to a modern people living in a place far removed from those to whom it was written. This fact alone leaves you floundering like a fish on dry land in your understanding. What will you do with Matthew chapter 16? And why will you interpret that as you do? Why are YOU right And the other guy wrong? What will be your guide? What makes you even think the passages are translated correctly? Do you realize that Coine Greek had no punctuation nor even spaces between the words? Is your only evidence derived from your distinct Calvinist Doctrine? If so it is at best circular reasoning. Then I hear you calling the Papacy an Antichrist. Whatever gives you THAT idea? The "Reformers" of course. Yet I know their teachings better than either of you guys! And I don't buy into it. Yet you guys would be defenseless in a courtroom defending yourselves against it. If it weren't for the abundant evidence for the Resurrection I'd call BS on the whole lot of you. ALL of you. Go back to the start. Erase your knowledge born of ignorance and align yourselves with the writers of Holy Scripture. Receive what they preached both by Epistle and by word of mouth (2 Thess. 2:15) Cling to the things which were received by the earliest Christians Galatians chapter 1 vs 8&9 and Jude chapter 1. Pastor, I have a question. Do you think it is possible for a truly born-again believer to remain undiscerning regarding blatant false teachers (TBN/Hillsong level) for many years, even if they hold to the core doctrines of the faith & display at least some fruit of the Spirit? My personal experience is that within a few years of being saved, I had scrutinized what I was hearing from the false teachers & Charismatic Movement against the Word & walked away from it. But, I personally know several people who have been professing Christians for much longer than me and they just don’t seem to care all that much that people are making false prophecies, women are preaching, etc. Yet, they don’t seem to have a lot sin in their lives either. I don’t know what to make of this pattern.

Since Hillsong and Brian Houston are certainly not christian, they are subjected to laws when he commit perjury, and sexual immoralities. Certainly the bigger church on her own is no longer capable of doing that when they are so corrupted by people like Elevation/Steve Furtick, Bethel/Bill Johnson etc besides Hillsong/Brian Houston? Do ALL people worldwide have a conscience that knows that lying is bad? From Israel I beg to differ. Our cousins by Abraham worship a god of death, stealing and lying. Lying is an art they delight in; I don't see it troubling their consciences. In my limited experience with Asian and African cultures, avoidance of conflict trumps truth. The main thing that bugs me about Justin and often causes me to not watch is his tendency to make arbitrary assumptions. In the beginning of this video he makes several statements claiming Discovery+ (which I do not watch) wanted to paint Christians in a negative light. (He made several comments) Is it okay to consider the possibility that MAYBE a Christian (or an instrument of God) pitched the idea for the documentary in an effort to OPEN EYES?? Or are we to just conclude that the purpose of the show…which I admittedly have not watched…was for the sole need to bash “toxic masculinity”. I can appreciate JP’s willingness to stand for truth…but his often “I got this pegged” demeanor is off putting. To me….in my opinion…from my perspective…just from where I’m sitting. I know the rest of you love and watch him faithfully. 😘😘

Elevation Church will fall too, in time. Those controlled by the lusts of their flesh, who thru self will repent from a sin, and have not been born-again, soon the unclean spirits return and find the house empty, and bring 7 fold more devils with them.
