I'm moving into a flat next week after living for 4 years on a boat ....gonna miss the boat but I cannot wait to use my new oven ....watch this space...have several faves saved up x
OMG i love Dane in this video. he is so funny i find myself bursting into laughter more than a few times n rewind to watch him wif the weighing scale with 150g thing hahaha... love this recipe. i'm gonna go find some ginger nut cookies!!! thanks guys! love your channel.
As a natural born Floridian, thank you for not dying the pie green. 😂 Whenever I see or order key lime pie outside of Florida it’s usually green and rarely ever good. Lol I do love the idea of ginger in the crust!
Did this and my friends and I were all delighted, such a great recipe. Thanks so much for all the time, dedication and FUN you put into your videos, they always brighten my day! 🤓
Love the intro and recipe! Gutted I can't come to the meet and greet but will be popping in for some goodies week before, look forward to it 😊. I've made a fair few of your recipes and they're all amazing, can't wait to see what the cookbook will have in store 😁
I grew up with these never knowing non-springforms existed until I started watching this channel. 😅 So weird how some things just don't permeate other countries for decades!
I have made it with a biscoff crust and it was delicious!! However squeezing a whole bunch of key limes was quite labor intensive but worth the effort!!! :)
I'm American and I absolutely love a good key lime pie I have to be honest with you guys didn't seem really that thrilled with it it does make a bit of a difference if you have key limes but I know hard for you guys to get over there but no matter I love you guys glad to see you back Gemma we missed you for that long stint
@@danepemberton136 oh my goodness Dane no worries... I did like some of the techniques, and I loved you putting it in a springform pan. It just looked absolutely beautiful... and you guys are so fun when all three of you together..... keep on making all those sweet goodies and wonderful treats!🍰😊💗
I was in London back at the end of February/start of March this year. Got to see Crumbs and Doilies shop and got to meet Dane and it really made my day. Such a nice guy. Hope to see Gemma and Sally next time 😊
Hahaha! If I started, I won’t stop, then I’ll end up like the guy from come dine with me. If you’ve no idea what I’m on about, just RU-vid come done with me - whisk, you’ll be in SHOCK 🤣
Omg no need. My boss has given me the weekend off and l have been in London since yesterday. Current in Hsrdrock picadilly drinking frozen Pina coladas.
Ha. Good close eye spot. It was underneath the pie when I put the cream on. In all honesty it would have been too faffy for me to try and take it off simultaneously on camera. It was on during chilling
Before I even watched this, I made this today for a family BBQ and it was a big hit with everyone. I used half digestive and half ginger biscuits for the base. I was amazed at how easy it was to make x
@@danepemberton136 just down from Inverness, I'm taking a Groupon of my guides down in October. So having a visit before hand. 🤣. Standby for 20 guides coming for cake in October
Looks amazing! I'm sad that condensed milk is sold in all types of weird volumes; here in canada the cans are small at 300 ml. I guess I'll just have to adapt!
It was still under the pie when I took it out of the tin, it would have been too tricky for me to get it off simultaneously when getting it out of the tin x
Floridian here. Quick clarification on where Key limes are grown. The limes are actually native of southeast Asia and were brought over to Florida probably over a century ago where they were mostly grown in the Florida Keys and got the name "Key lime." Today, due to limited land, Key limes are not actually grown in the Florida Keys on a mass scale anymore. Most Key limes sold in the United States are imported from Central America and Mexico - so if the UK wanted to import them, it probably could, but I'm guessing due to their unfamiliarity over there, there isn't much market demand for them. To be honest, Key limes are not even wildly available in the U.S. either. The only place you can consistently find them are in Florida supermarkets and grocers. Most people buy them exclusively to make Key lime pie since their juice yield is quite low, making them impractical for any other use. (That being said, people do use the juice to cook and bake other things.)
Hi there, tried this nice recipe this weekend, after baking it for 30 min and 24 hours in the fridge it was still liquid, and spilled all over once I cut it.. Do you have any tips for me? Thanks :)
Any major adjustments necessary, do you think, for a 9" or 24 cm springform? Assuming it'll take less time to bake, so will watch closely. But should I adjust amounts or just go with what you've done, Dane? TIA!
Please put temperature and time in every stage on scream🖥 🔢 Normally I can understand what should I do for baking. 🧁 But English is not my primary language, sometimes I have to repeat to know temperature changing like meringue. 😵💫 So if you put that before scene change or something like that I will be really thankful.🤩 Love your recipes make me think I can do it and it looks so delicious🥰 Love you all💕
Hi guys! i followed dane’s way of making this pie, it actually tasted perfect but do u have any idea why was it still watery even after i chill overnight , could it be i did not leave it inside the oven long enough?
Hi C&D team! Could I put in a video request? Could you maybe do a video on biscuit to butter ratio? The last time I made a buttery biscuit base for a cake, I needed half as much butter as cookies. I used whole-grain biscuits. For plain biscuits I needed less butter. Maybe a video on different types of biscuits and how much butter/golden syrup they need would be nice. Because it really surprised me how little butter you used here (and didn't even use all of that!).
That looks delicious. I make Key lime pie all the time but I use digestive biscuits and I add some desiccated coconut into the base too. I'll be making one next week for my wee Mamma's birthday. Lee xx
Thanks Dane! I really needed a good key lime pie recipe, and any of the other ones I tried weren't that good. I think the difference is, is that you use condensed sweet milk. TFS ❤️. Would of loved to meet you all. Also think you should name your chat sessions, C &D Chit Chat.
Hi Jemma love your channel going to visit your shop in October when I am in London. I noticed your topping recipe seems a lot for how much you put on top of the pie would it not be better to half the amount as mixing 280g cream would leave a lot of left over Thanks.
This looks delicious Dane. I made an orange version of this a few years ago. blooming gorgeous but lime my fave. Can I ask if you guys could do a dairy free dessert that could temp a child. My grandchildren are highly allergic to dairy but love baking. Thanx
