If you’re experiencing redness, bumps and flaking skin around the chin and mouth area - but no clogged pores - it might not be hormonal acne, but perioral dermatitis. This skin condition has become a trending topic on TikTok, with everyone from Hayley Beiber to Alix Earle recently sharing their experience.
Here’s the one thing I want everyone to avoid doing when it comes to treating perioral dermatitis. Watch to find out.

I had to come back and say that after just three days my condition has improved by following the advice here. I’m so grateful. I did a skincare cull and dropped sunscreen. Thank you so much - I had no idea it was a condition I thought I’d just been touching my face too much or it was hormones. Thank you so much 💖

As one of the smaller percentage of males who suffer with perioral dermatitis, your advice and products have brought my skin back to a healthy and balanced place. So grateful for your expertise.

@@cam-ro5mb After suffering for almost 2 years, I finally went on a course of antibiotics and used only gentle cleanser and an oil and fragrance free moisturizer. That's it. It took about 5 months to finally subside, although I still suffer with some occasional redness. It is a tricky condition. And from what know, never really goes away. I now used Dr Sam's products and they have helped manage it.

sorry dr. Sam, but is Tretinoin dangerous for the liver? I have seen some scientific studies and I am worried now.

If you are at the initial stage of it.. Just keep your face clean.. Use face wash if you've used any product such as sunscreen or moisturizer and then apply Surfaz SN ointment.. It is available at the medical store.. Worked for me.

I was diagnosed when I was 15 and I am 38 now. But I have a several doctors wonder if I had lupus. I was recently test and it was negative. I have tried cream after cream. I have the symptoms of lupus. I am on keto and now carnivore. Do you think it is possible to still have lupus?

I've just experienced this around my nose through the nasolabial folds.. I think because of a retinol product that I use, than I got back to basic routine without actives and it's getting better

Thank you so much for this information. The dermatologist I went to diagnosed me with periorial dermatitis. And has me using topical steroids. Now I feel I need to stop using it. I've never used it before now. I'm thinking of giving azelaic acid a try. I'm so nervous that it is going to get worse 😢

I think I might have this , but for me it leaves very dry skin after it gets irritated and I like my skin looks flaky and like cakey and dry skin seems to be peeling off and it’s very itchy and it also leaves dark spots .

I’ve just experienced this for the first time in my life. I don’t know which ingredient/layer is causing it but I have recently started using Clarins total cleansing oil. It washes off.. so I don’t think it counts as a facial oil.. but the rash did start since Christmas when I was bought the clarins cleansing oil so … maybe I should cut that out ? Thank you for the video ❤

Does it contain essential oils? As a sensitive skin girl my skin reacts to essential oils even in wash off products, my dermatologist recommended I ban them, I use The Ordinary Squalene Cleanser as my first cleanse at night.
@DrSamBunting

It’s possible as it has essential oils and fragrance. Strip cleansing back.

Facial Seborrheic dermatitis also resembles Perioral dermatitis! The lighter your overall skin is, the more obvious the redness from these lesions!
