Going into 2nd year with Wildman 👍 here to the best shape of my life and I haven't even stepped foot in a gym. Best coach I ever had and haven't even met him. I warn you Mark, if I do, I'm a hugger! Happy new year and by Jove you're a beastman.

In the early stages of the mill program, decided to hit level 1 a couple times before level 2 just to be comfortable and correct, and it is amazing to see my body adapt to proper movement. Shield cast especially feels natural when it's done right.

Wow! This is such a great strategy for dealing with injuries/weaknesses. I have 2 arthritic knees and have trouble with the double bounce while doing long cycle. Doing LC one-handed for now with 12 k so I can perfect my technique. Thanks for your great advice!

Hi Mark and a happy new year! When you reach a decision point and go down with weights you keep the workload (weight x reps x sets) on the same/higher level to keep the progressive overload? Or it's not that important in this instance? i.e. decision point (20kgx7x10=1400kg) - reduced to (12kg x 11reps x 11 sets =1452kg)

Here's a question for you a Mark having done 150 days plus of my programme no rest I'm in need of a new one but how to transition in terms of a fresh one that will motivate. Programme is 100 push ups, squats, 20 pull ups. I do compliment with KB, boxing but that programme happens every day. The benefits are discipline, some conditioning (surprisingly more upper body bulk than I had expected) and no need to think just get it done. What I'm thinking is an Australian /inverse pull rather than the push up, continue the pull ups and do those hamstring KBs you showed us a while back. Low weight / high weight alt days. The thinking is to continue with the discipline side by a programme which is just autopilot but to work other body parts. The question is really about considerations to factor in rather than content. The key factors stay regimented, conditioning with 3 simple exercises I can goto daily as a staple but not entire workout regime. There's something about getting it done every day first thing then anything else compliments

Absolutely love the content. So helpful and educational. Do I understand that correctly, each workout is essentially only 10-20 MIN long? So workout A is snatches for 20 min. That's it?

For two hand mills I have two questions I'd hope to get your take on. 1) What do you view as the tradeoffs between 1 hand and 2 hand mills? 2) For two hand mills, do you equally train inside and outside circles with both (top)hands? I'm progressively adding weight to 1 hand mills and considering switching up to 2 hand mills and I'm unsure re: those two questions. If there's another way I could get your take on these I'd try that avenue (it that's preferred.) Thanks!
@GrantGardner80
@GrantGardner80 2 года назад
Not MW, but from what I recall from other videos about anything single hand vs. two hand with clubs, 2H has more rotation and can handle more weight. Single hand usually is the starting point because of the lower rotational demand on the body and so gives more time for a new club swinger to get the timing and the technique down without tweaking something.

Hi Mark. As a Muslim I’m going to fast for Ramadhan this April - 13 hours no food and drink for 30 days. Currently I’m doing Kettlebell Heavy/Light 12kg/8kg and Single Arm Heavy Club Heavy/Light 4kg/2kg. Should I drop weight during fasting month and/or reduce set numbers?
@MarkWildman

I see no reason too. Although you could move your workout to before sunrise so you can have water after.

I typically fast for 19 hours during the week. Eat breakfast at 5:45-6am and lunch at 11am and nothing else. I have issues training later in the day but the whole not drinking water is a big thing. I would not be able to do that. As long as you are getting all your calories in, and planning workouts when you can hydrate, you should be fine.
@firdausariff
@firdausariff 2 года назад
@@cucciafr68 I get dehydrated easily and typically forgets to drink after exercise even during non-fasting days. Probably need to slowly shift my schedule and train myself to drink more on schedule from now to make it through the fasting month.

Can anyone say what the 2 hand mill/squat program is ? Heard him talk about it a lot but never heard him describe it. A club mill plus a squat ? Barbarian squat ?

Three level program to develop equal movement patterns on each side of the body for 2hand mill patterns, and squat patterns. Meant to be repeated with 3 different weights.

Longer version of the mill/squat program this year? Sign me up. I expect this to mean more levels and maybe some shifts in the exercises. Maybe a two-handed start and a one-handed finish? That would be dope.

Is the Nerd Math Swing program hard style or soft style? Soft style swings work better for my particular issues. Don't know if the soft style requires a marathon program approach.
@antonipoblocki

If your injuries flare up from hard style I'd stick with the soft style and do recovery work to address the injuries.

@antonipoblocki

@@jerryheath3887 the program is in default for the hard style, but I'd guess that Mark has a way to modify it to soft style if needed.
@MarkWildman
@MarkWildman 2 года назад
its hard style-is. you could do it soft style but you would need heavier weights probably. i find hard style is better for people with injuries because the total tension focus helps athletes not "skip" an injured part of their structure.

@sticks0662 2 года назад
My apologies. There is no 1kg plate in adjustable KB. So, you can't get 13kg.
@GrantGardner80
@GrantGardner80 2 года назад
I suspect that it's using a 1" hole 2.5lb plate (like from a cheap home barbell/dumbbell set). Should be small enough to fit inside the bell and be used in place of the included weights. I also suspect that the 0.5 kg jump is accomplished with a 1" 1.25 lb plate. I have both but hadn't thought about trying it until Mark said something a few weeks back
@madridsoup
@madridsoup 2 года назад
I was wondering the same thing! I have the kettlebell Mark is talking about in the video. Without any of the included plates, the bell starts at 12kg and the smallest plate increment is 2kg. That means you have to jump from 12 to 14 kg, there is no intermediate 13kg option.
@wawindwalker
@wawindwalker 2 года назад
Sticks066 Got one, as it is you skip 13 & 31 kg settings. Grant, that is what I am looking into to hit the weight. Most barbells are either 2” or 4” bars, so would have to be a dumbbell set. As well as most only have pounds and not kilos, it would have to be the 2.5 plate. Of course most places are closed for the holiday, I may need to hit some thrift stores or yard/garage sales to find one. I did contact KBK’s to see if they had suggestions and to suggest this may be something for them to offer as an add-on.
