I literally don't understand how they think he's killing Tanookis by TOUCHING A LEAF. He doesn't even dress up as one. He becomes one. It doesn't make sense
PETA when they traumatize children: "Did we convince you to become vegan?" PETA when they traumatize adults: "Did we convince you to become vegan?" PETA when they save animals: ** Hasn't happened yet **
Did PETA euthanize a dog a girl saved for no reason? I heard a story a girl saved a Chihuahua and PETA comes in, takes the dog and euthanized it without an explanation. If it's true then it's ironic that they "save" animals
Mario kills tanooki looks like a bad creepypasta. “Suddenly the sky turned red and hyper-realistic and there was hyper-realistic blood on the ground and I screamed”
@@rickruble8536 Lol that would never happen! Nintendo prides themselves with being "Child freindly" so why would they make Mario (A FAMILY FREIENDLY CHILDRENS GAME) so dang gory?
@@Nerdgirl9853 I respect you but sadly it kind worked for me when I thought of vegans I thought of the vegan teacher and peta but I am glad to know you guys are just living your lives
The biggest thing I remember from peta is that post they made a long time ago where it was an image of a cow with a human body (still cow colored and everything) and a grown man nursing from the cow’s human-shaped boobs. The caption was something like “this is wrong so why do you drink milk” and I just remember so many people thirsted over that cow in the replies to bully peta lmao
"Fungah! Foiled again!" is actually a pretty specific quote from the English translation of Super Mario RPG. This just brings up so many more questions about the people who wrote and created that Chick game. One second they're needlessly insulting Mario games, the next second they're lovingly referencing them. It's like one person on the team was trying to actually make this into something charming, and the rest just wanted to be spiteful and get things over with as quickly as possible.
French fry spikes? French fries are technically vegan as they’re made from potatoes fried in oil and spiced with salt. That’s it. Edit: I found out it depends of the type of oil and seasonings used.
Ah, I remember playing my first Mario game. It taught me it's okay to throw turtles into lava and skin dogs alive, to gain the power of flight. Anyways, I just played Animal Crossing so I'm gonna go rip the leaves off trees so I can get new furniture.
After playing PETA games, I successfully learned something. To skin a random tanuki and fly away with it's skin. Just like Mario. After all, Mario is the main hero.
Yeah brb gonna go put down a bunch of tarps all over my town and then plant two purple rosebushes diagonally from each other until a blue rosebush grows one morning so I can rake in the dough.
So let me get this straight. PETA tried to make Mario the villain in both games when he did literally nothing wrong. Made a cornel sanders (who died decades ago) into a spider creature. Claimed that Mario wears the skin of a tanooki WHEN IN ACTUALITY IT’S A FUCKING MAGIC LEAF. And used Pamela Andersen for no reason
Same. And these games made me hungry for MCdonalds rather than disgusted. I always thought the blood was ketchup cus I am hungarian and I didn't understand english at the time 💀😭😭
I believe the animal suits that Mario wears are more equivalent to fursona suits or mascot costumes than actual furs. (That's evident in their design. I mean what kind of person would wear frog skin, a turtle shell, or bee skin?) So if PETA really thinks that Mario wears fur then they're completely demented. Not only that but I think everyone knows Yoshi is a fictional dinosaur species. While they can be mounted and ridden like horses, they aren't mammalian like PETA's example states and are based on a whole branch of "extinct" reptiles. Also PETA is apparently against live animal mascots instead of characters. Also also, two of the animal suits in this franchise are literally derived from inanimate objects and another is obtained through consumption of a mushroom. Yet another example of PETA being PETA, everyone.
Also can't yoshi speak? I'm sure there is atleast somewhere in the games or books(like a comic strip) saying they could. Oh it just might be me since I laugh at those fanon dubs. When yoshi is talking to Mario
@@randomwolfygirl Yoshi can say words in his own language wich comprises entirely of the word "Yoshi" basically like a Pokemon but if what he's saying matters the in-game text will translate it
I was thinking pretty hard on what that mushroom animal Power-Up was, and then I realised that you probably meant the Super Acorn. It’s not a mushroom, it’s an acorn (it’s in the name, lol). It kinda looks like a mushroom, but with stripes, a stalk on the top and it’s pointy at the bottom.
Me too. I didn't know what was going on and I just enjoyed game without knowing what was said as I didn't understand english. But after learning english and coming back to it, well, it's kinda different experience, but on other hand it was the still game which I liked to play.
Fun fact: In Super Mario World it _looks_ like Mario hits Yoshi to make him use his tongue, but in the manual it explains that he actualy points where Yoshi has to attack. It surprises me that Peta made a game based on the act of Mario touching a leaf instead of something like this
They had the perfect joke lined up with the yoshis too. Just use the "mario drops yoshi into a pit for a higher jump" gag. It's something that's not as randomly dark and most people would get a good laugh out of it. But this is PETA. The concept of a joke is lost on them
Tofu is good, but how is it a vegan meat substitute if you have to soak it in meat oil? Not a vegan, but why is PETA for Tofu if you have to soak it in meat if they seem like they would hate it?
@@estahbear you dont *have* to soak it in meat oil, thats just a way of preparing it (but tbh i think out of all meat substitutes tofu is def the worst)
I actually remember playing petas cooking mama ripoff I didn't know what cooking mama was so i thought it's just a weird game that i for some reason liked
God. My parents were PETA members and I grew up in that organization and I’m so thankful for these amazing games. They finally showed me that PETA was full of shit!!
It's true- but there are animals called "racoon dogs" in japan which are commonly referred to as tanooki. However in a semi-fantastical adventure like Mario, I'd make a bet they were basing the Tanooki Suit after the mythological creatures instead of real life racoon dogs.
@@GordonFreemanFN thats also based on a part of Tanooki myths! further comfirmation. as well as the fact that he uses a leaf to transform, while tanookis in myths use leafs to transform as well!
I hate that they made mario a """bad guy"""" by making him enjoy yoshi races when they could've gone with the fact that mario literally punches yoshi to make him stick out his tongue (and pit sacrificing too)
In the art of Super Mario World, it's shown that Mario is pointing forward, he doesn't punch him also Yoshi being dropped into a pit is not Canon as that's the player choice, it doesn't effect the story or is mentioned
PETA: *complains about Nintendo “showing a character wearing a skinned tanooki”* ALSO PETA: *makes a game showing a character wearing a skinned tanooki* ALSO ALSO PETA: *replaces mushrooms with tofu, even tho mushrooms aren’t made of meat… I… I shoudlnt even have to say this, this should be basic common sense*
i remember playing this video when i was a kid, i never understood the dialogue (since im european) and the video of the slaughterhouse in the middle genuinely traumatised me
At one point one of the NPCs in-game dialogue is talking about contacting McDonalds for more humane ways to kill the chickens. Like they actually had something solid and then forgot two seconds later? XD
I had a dream and it’s about PETA being sued by Nintendo. After PETA got sued and Nintendo won, the PETA organization was shutting down and PETA no longer exists. I wish that dream was real.
The tanooki one is especially stupid since the suit in Mario is actually based off of a yokai called a tanuki, not a real life raccoon dog. That’s why you grab a leaf, because tanuki would transform things using leaves (either that or they’d transform themselves). They can also fly.
I remember playing the KFC one as a child. I remember reading a first few of the PSAs and thinking "wow, KFC sure is bad," and skipping all the cutscenes because I didn't like how they were treating my childhood hero, Mario.
I actually played the kfc one as a small child I couldn't read back then so I had no idea what was going on so it was just a simple bird platformer for me ps. I thought the blood was ketchup and didn't know kfc for some reason
Peta games always have such crappy context and lore to them but somehow have a special shine, still wont stop me from eating my chicken nuggets though.
Ah, yes. I remember the KFC one. I, as a small child at the time, was against animal abuse. I wasn't expecting too extreme stuff, cause yknow, I was a kid. So here I was expecting a happy, lighthearted game, and then I got to the KFC building. Blood everywhere, spooky music, yet here I was trying to push through. Then a bonus came up. It sent me to RU-vid. Little me watched chickens being slaughtered in horrid ways. Ones that a child shouldn't be shown at that age. I told my dad what I saw, showed him, he blocked the site after that and comforted me afterwards. It scarred me, and sometimes I still get a nagging, sick to my stomach feeling when I go to KFC since the video effected me so bad.
My parents gave me a rule when I was younger to not download things off the internet they didn’t trust. I downloaded New Super Chick Sisters. They never found out, and I didn’t make it to the “free video”, but I was always confused about Mario’s dialogue. Now I know that game was made by PETA. Thanks!
I played the first game when I was a kid. I also remember burger enemies from the second one, so probably played that as well and when you said about animal abuse video I suddenly remembered I had seen one back then. By the look of things it was from the second game, but I'd actually doubt that. I think I got that in the first. It was showing chickens on meat hooks I believe. Damn, that was one heck of a lost memory.
I remember playing these when I was little back in 2006, and I literally absorbed nothing of the facts PETA was trying push in the game. All I cared about was playing the game.
I grew up on flash games and for some reason I played the KFC Chick Sisters game a lot. The PETA messages went completely over my head and I didn't even know what PETA or veganism was. Luckily, I don't remember seeing any graphic animal videos
Man! this is perfect. i know Peta is fucking terrible and we can all tell it, but the reason i like this so much is that i played this when i was a little kid like a really dumb and i loved the mario rip offs that were out at the time. and didnt know anything about english so it was just "haha cute mario game" luckily i later got a wii amd was banned from "mom's laptop" haha. i dont remember any animal abusing videos tho, maybe i either didnt get far enough to trigger it or my mom was protecting the little dumb idiot that was me XD
How do they think he’s killing tanooki? He literally became one with his face, though saying that makes it sound even creepier somehow. He literally touches a leaf!! A FREAKING LEAF!!
I remember playing the KFC version as a little kid while surfing the internet unsupervised. I remember it being so boring that I didn't even bother finishing it, and being unphased by the blood because it honestly looked more like ketchup to me. I'm kind of glad that was the version of the game I played, because although I stumbled upon one of their "educational" videos later in life, I'm not sure I'd have ever recovered if I saw that fresh hell out of nowhere as a kid. I was an adult with a love of nasty, bloody horror films when I saw that train wreck years later, and I'm STILL haunted by that shit to this day. I can't even imagine seeing that shit as a CHILD.
and the scary thing is. i remember playing the older version of that game on a game website as a rlly young kid, i couldn't even understand the most simple english words like "yes" or "no" but phew im lucky it was the older version that doesnt show video. I thougth the blood in the game was ketchup cuz mcdonalds
While not Mario related, PETA also made a Super Meat Boy parody called Super Tofu Boy. Team Meat responded by making Tofu Boy into an actual playable character…and he can’t even get past the first few levels.
I think the yoshi abuse is refrencing how some players jump off of yoshi so that they don't fall into pits, and although that was a peta game, i found it kinda funny. Btw I'm going to go to kfc and order some chicken breasts.
I played this game when I was much younger and the fact about retired Race Horses completely flew over my head because they were Yoshis instead. Education 100
You see PETA when you go after things like these games WITCH HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ANIMAL ABUSE, and show videos like those to kids then you loose what support you have.
I literally didnt know peta made super chick sisters im just here for the mario gameplay I dont care about kernel sanders replacing bowser Lets just say im 9 and I didnt turn vegen
I wonder what made PETA have such a giant hate boner for Pamela Anderson tho when making these games? I used to play PETA's Cooking Mama Game even the Pokemon games that PETA made back then.
It really hurts to watch this, because the McCruelty campaign really fucked me up as a kid and I felt a strange moral obligation to play the chick sister games. (Thank god it didn’t make me hate Mario though lol) Thankfully this phase only lasted for like, a month or something and I realized peta sucked and I’m grateful it got me to stop eating at McDonald’s, but it still makes me cringe thinking about it.
I actually played this the first time my father left me his laptop. I remember having fun but later found out about the Pokemon PETA game and ended up with nightmares.
