that's his low-poly model the game switches to when he's far from the camera. to save computer processing, pretty much like Mario 64. the "relaxed smile" thing is from the beta version, where Peter had a different model, where he's seen smiling and relaxed. they forgot to update the low-poly model to be coherent to the final model where his expression is different and has a more worried look.

The joke was more about the plot of this sonic game being the military chasing sonic because they mistook him for shadow, who sonic calls 'that black hedgehog' until he learns his name later on. No aspect of this joke has any racial motivations. I just like the silly go fast rat games.

I just realized how absolutely ridiculously absurd that massive truck is in the beginning of the game to be chasing sonic that insanely with all cranes on it.
I mean the only way this would be better would be if they ACTUALLY played “Escape From The City” as the soundtrack 😂. Probably would be copyright issues though, not sure.

Fun fact: In original version of the game, you can spot Quagmire's cameo halfway through the chase. He's walking down the side of the street and you'll hear a fading "giggity" as you run through.

Considering how much we have seen the Peter Griffin in Chaotix meme in recent years, having been able to enjoy watching this a few times over the past nine and a half hours has been a genuine delight; we knew it would happen eventually but I knew it would turn out superb from whoever would've delivered it, wishfully we will see more of these edits from the community because we don't get too many Sonic/Family Guy crossovers as is and it'll reside in entertainment history as an ideal decision in production.
