Ashoka was produced solely by SRK I think. He setup a separate entity for low budget movies. Dreamz Unlimited was SRK, Aziz Mirza, and Juhi Chawla. After Chalte Chalte they broke up since Juhi was not taken as a heroine there, leading to animosity. Red Cillies then was only established by SRK.
11:38 cat eyed people = aishwarya rai 😂 n 12:00 curly hair = vamp..Pervin Dastur, the vamp in Maine pyar kiya was told to get that curly hair for her character. So she sat in the salon, next to me, getting her hair done and speaking to my aunt and the salon owner (my aunt’s friend) about it…even as a young girl, I remember this so distinctly
just a small note, before judging the intention behind directorial choices on subtle nudges to things, remember that Aziz Mirza was a very socially aware filmmaker, look at his body of work going back to Nukkad and Circus days, he just chose a more accessible way to say things than his brother, argument being that "Jo kehna chaahte hain, woh un logo tak pohoche jin ko woh dekhne aur sunne aur sochne ki zarurat hai", "Raju ban gaya gentleman" and "Yess Boss" had clear critiques of post 80s corporate obsession.
Abbas man, fir se confidently galat!!. I know Bharti Achrekar was not playing Paresh Rawal's wife in this movie because I know what she looks like. One can even recognise her by voice in The Lunchbox, clearly. The lady in this movie was Neena Kulkarni... I just searched from Wikipedia. Yes, Bharti Achrekar was there... playing Juhi's mother.
It's not about creating rockstars on left or right side. It's about every channel having a marketable Reporter that audiences will watch. Cynical but true, news channels aren't inherently left or right but they pick a side that sells ads
Trivia: Jawan is loosely inspired on Main Azaad hoon starring Amitabh. You can closely notice the reason of SRK’s named Azad in the movie. And the famous stadium scene from Main Azaad hoon is copied in Jawan’s SRK where he gave speech in camera. Both the scene have some similar dialogues and context. Main Azaad hoon was also a political movie where Amitabh urge people to stand and cast votes wisely. In jawan Srk urge people to caste vote … Just google the song “itne baju itne sir gin le dushman dhyaan se”
Okay - I think like its still very unclear to many of the populace. And, its disheartening. The allegations against Khamba were proven false on every ground and his is one of the very few cases which was like the prime example of men charged with false allegations.
As much as i love urjita i rhink she kind of is kind of a misfit for this section as she wasnt even bornnwhen these films were released..her inadequacy of responses like for eg when the moderator asks her to name any other Dreamzs unlimited projects and she comes up with kabhie haan kabhie naa😂 I mean its like making a biber fan talk about bands like pink floyd,Europe ,Beech boys,Eagles😊
It's not even about her not being born during that time. Abbas is not that old too but as a true cinephile he has knowledge even about films from 70s. That's how it works when you actually like films. For Urjita it seems she's just here to increase her digital presence and her stand up comedy career.
I vaguely remember what happened. Khamba agreed to everything that his ex was accusing him of but it was a one time thing and after some time that girl was nowhere to be found. Also Khamba was one of the only me too accused who actually apologized for his bad behaviour towards his ex but after that he got married and was happily married the last time I checked. Even Tanmay Rohan Ashish deserted him due to the dismantling of AIB which acc to me is such a bad friend move. I could be wrong so if anyone wants to correct me or knows more than me feel free to comment under this. However, I feel Khamba really suffered enough and now let's be done with all the things of the past. If Suhel Seth and Sajid Khan are roaming around freely and making money and shit, I think we should cut Khamba a lot of slack. Great podcast by the way. Phir bhi Dil was such a fun watch. Even though it was typically tacky as most of the 90s films were I loved this film only because of Juhi's character which was such an empowered female role that was surprising to see in the 90s. She played an empowered woman in Ishq too.
I loved this film as a child. I was obsessed with the songs and I fell in love with Juhi’s costumes. She looked stunning in the film. Really glad you guys decided to revisit this movie. Brought back fond memories.
@@sharam5614 Tanmay has been interviewed on KWK, did Netflix interview and everything even when it was disclosed that one of his mate was accused of grooming, and he knew about it. And people behaved and are behaving as if nothing happened. Varun Grover was accused. And so was anurag kashyap. Idk about Khamba though.
@@sharam5614it wasn't because of Khamba. Tanmay knew the deeds of one of his mate who was accused of grooming girls or asking for favours from underage girls.
Urjita has zero Bollywood knowledge, what is she doing on this podcast? It's a waste of time each time she derails the conversation. She had to chime in about Fiza and then spoke about a song from a completely different movie. Come on guys! You don't have anyone to replace her? Not Antariksh or Snayhil btw, they're equally bad.
His advertising and comedic career took a massive hit. He was out of the scene. Yet he didn’t double down. Took the onus and went away to let the justice take the course. I understand the allegations were strong, but it’s still allegation.
These guys have biases towards SRK. Its not about liking or disliking the film but its just about discussing and keeping the actor and his filmography in news. This is nowadays a subtle way of PR gimmick. Instead of discussing stupendous movie like Lakshya or even KNPH they are discussing this shit. It was neither ahead of its time nor it dished out properly the message. It released and tanked badly due to overacting of SRK.
Urjitha is the kind of feminist who gets her ideas from Tiktok and Instagram Reels and doesn't understand real feminism. She doesn't have the ability to look at people objectively for their qualities as actors and will always make a counter argument in their favour which doesn't even make sense just because the conversation is about a woman. The bias is so blatantly noticeable and gets unbearable to watch overtime. Maybe she is just young and doesn't understand the world any better but it comes off as really irritating and will drive away audience from your show.
