Phonon Voice Comparison (CV: Saori Onishi) | Under Night In-Birth II [SYS:Celes] 

I was initially really disappointed with that new 4B laugh but it just got moved to 66[B] instead.
So beyond that laugh not being made that much worse, I think Phonon sounds okay, she just sounds deeper and that's just unavoidable. Although in Phonon's case she got voice-casted around 2014-2015 so it hasn't been as long compared to the others. Compared to Byakuya though, Phonon at the very least has a characteristic of wanting to be a dominatrix-style "character" to better fit the image of herself she has in her head so I mostly perceive the voice-shift as something she's doing intentionally to make herself sound tougher, like the opposite of what Hyde is doing. Phonon's normals were pretty annoying to work through since a lot of them got spread around to other moves in UNI2 as to make them more unique, it seems to be a trend with the Console UNIEL to Arcade UNIST transition.
Phonon's move names don't necessarily have a theme but they do have a naming convention similar to Seth's. You'll notice her specials' names all ending with "-tion". Affliction, Ascension, Satisfaction, Restriction, even her FF's name is Frustration, while her new install is Augmentation. Her supers end with "itude" with Beatitude and Servitude. The only odd one out is her 6FF which ends with "Reiterate".
Saori Onishi is yet another voice actress who has her UNI role be one of their earlier works and Phonon was most likely before she landed roles as Eriri from Saekano and Ais from Danmachi in 2015. She's had quite a successful career since her role in UNI and she's even the new Megumi for the Kenshin reboot, we'll come back to that one for Londrekia. As the "new new" character for people like me who grabbed their copy of UNIEL around 2015, Phonon was the shiny new character for the [st] release in the Japanese arcade scene and I cannot tell you how prevalent she was during those years. I remember every other arcade match having her being played and I basically learned her combo theory from simply from watching the Tokyo Club Sega players do her combos over and over.
[st] must have been the time FB had some advertising money to spend because Saori Onishi was actually a guest featured in Blazblue Radio on July 23rd, 2015. She takes an impromptu interview asking about her lifestyle and when asked if she preferred "the beach, the pool, or her house" she simply answered "My house, I don't like the other two".
