If you mean just the picture, I just placed it on a white background. If you mean the actual frame, it’s a wooden frame. You can see a video on my channel showing how I frame my paintings.
Thank-you for these helpful tips. What do you think about the new iPhone 14 Pro with 48 megapixel camera? Could that be even more of a contender to replace DSLRs for taking pictures of artwork? I need to buy a new phone and I'm hoping the 14 Pro camera will be good enough that I don't have to also buy a DSLR. I want to also be able to make good quality prints from my work, as well as just share on social media & websites.
You can only get the 48mp through the main camera, which is a 24mm lens equivalent. Too wide for my taste. The results I saw are very good in bright lighting conditions. Only the skin tones and orange tones are a bit weird compared to a dslr. With larger prints and cropping, details become a bit muddy compared to a dslr with a macro lens. I think this has a lot to do with the small sensor in the iPhone. Given the price of the 14 pro, I would rather opt for a dslr with a macro lens, possibly second-hand, where you have more control over the settings and lenses.
Hi, Im wondering if the cameras on newer iphones are better for photographing art than the older ones. They are all 12 megapixel, so Im wondering if there is a difference in quality between for example, the 2016 iphone SE and the Iphone SE 2022. Thanks!
Yes, newer iphones producing better images. However there is still a clear difference in color reproduction when using a 'real' camera + lens and shooting raw files.
For photographing art a macro lens is the best choice, depending on the size of the artwork a 50mm or 105mm. Otherwise the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART for Canon.
