Phylath, a legendary little brother to Avenger of Zendikar, brings a simple strategy to the board: lands good, opponents bad. Landon exploits the massive synergy of landfall and other spicy land tricks to get a board full of big plants quickly and swing 'em out.

5 lands that can help in this kind of deck. Evolving wilds, terramorphic expanse, myriad landscape, blighted woodland and a land that can give you a plant for your commander or Aveneger of Zendikar, khalni garden.

Khalni garden i think is a bad land for this deck. A basic land makes the same token that Khalni garden does when Phylath enters, but doesn't come in tapped. You're 100% correct about the budget fetches though. Great for landfall triggers once Phylath is already out.

I personally use phylath as my commander, and looking at this has really opened my eyes. If this version of phylath is boring, a fun alternate take is to constantly kill phylath, gaining a tone of blockers.

Hi, thanks for posting this. Very interesting synergies here. However, if you look at the right side of the tapped-out decklist you'll see that the mana base doesn't match the spell base. I think it should be more like 30 forests and 10 mountains, right?

It feels a bit like myThromok the insatiable deck. I might actually put in Phylath as one of the 99 since it gives me a few tokens and makes a lot of my tokens bigger.

“Scale up” is one I haven’t seen mentioned for this guy yet. One green mana to make a single creature a 6/4 wurm or 4gg to make EACH creature you control a 6/4 wurm...

Terror of the peaks and warstorm surge are bad fits for this deck. All of your plants enter as 0/1's dealing no damage. Purphoros like you mentioned, impact tremors, and the new witty roastmaster are all excellent ways of taking advantage of the mass token creation.
